Talking So I’m sittin’ here…

at work in my new size 14 pants! I haven’t worn a size 14 since my freshman year in college, and that was 8 years ago. I went to Old Navy yesterday because I was sick of looking all sloppy and holding my baggy pants up with a belt. Not all the 14s I tried on fit well (I bought one pair to shrink into as well as the ones I’m wearing right now), and of course there were the usual ultra-low-rise waist, too long, ill-fitting disasters, but overall I don’t remember the last time I was less depressed in a fitting room. Oh, and I bought a cute skirt in a size 12 that fit perfectly and it only cost $12 on clearance. Yay!

Thanks everyone for your comments. It occurred to me that in one more size I will no longer be “plus size” technically. Wowsa. I kind of have mixed feelings about leaving Lane Bryant, she’s been so good to me over the years. So I found myself shopping at Target after the gym last night (this could get dangerous) and found another skirt (this one a size 14) on clearance for $12, what are the odds. I also got myself a muscle shirt for the gym, now I just have to lose the flab over my arms so I can show off my guns

Hon, if you think Lane Bryant has been good to you, just think how good all those other stores are going to be! Once you've moved into the realm of pretty, fashionable, normal-sized clothing, a whole new world of "good to you" is about to open up. You aren't gonna miss LB at all.

Amen, I don't miss Lane Bryant at all. Was thinking of sending all those catalogs to my sister now, she's always been snotty about my weight. Guess what, she's bigger than me now and has told me to stop losing, that "it just didnt' look natural" for me to be so "thin". I think that is called "jealousy".

lilibelle-- "it just didnt' look natural" for me to be so "thin"...I think you hit it right on the nail there. How bizarre.

That is so awesome!!!!! I cant wait to drop a size. And speaking of Old Navy! I have a pair of their pants that are now too baggy (Yay) and Ive been dying to go try on the next size down to see if I can fit in them, but they only carry LOW WAIST and ULTRA LOW WAIST in the store!!! I dont want to wear those, all my fat bulges out the top and having the waist circle me so low just makes me look bigger. I like their "At Waist" style. I know I can order it online but I dont want to order if I dont know if it will fit... I guess I have no other choice! I cant buy pants anywhere else really because I am short (well, Im the average height for women, but apparently that is considered short in the fashion world. I feel sorry for women who actually are short! Where do they find clothes if the short clothes fit average height!).

Anyway, good job!!
