Talking I didn't TOUCH all that food!!!

My office is unbelievable for all the junk food that is always around!

Last week someone brought in a big Easter basket full of chocolates and it was in the hallway by our cubes so I had to pass it every time I went to the printer or anywhere, which is very often! Well... it was gone and today the "Easter bunny" not only refilled it BUT added a big plateful of gummy bears, jelly beans, etc. So the Easter basket got moved down to right outside my cube where I could see it every time I looked up. The person did offer to move it but I said, "Nope... leave it right there; I'm not about to eat any!"

AND... get this... Costco was having a membership drive so they brought in a huge table full of big muffins, huge sweet rolls and cookies! But they also had some wonderful fruit trays so I ate some of that and didn't touch any of the other stuff.

I am actually getting to where I enjoy seeing it around all over the place because I can congratulate myself on "taking victory laps" past it all, as someone else here on 3FC said! It's a great feeling to NOT eat it when it is there... to me this is about discipline and self control. There are always going to be temptations and it is great when I don't give in!!!

Misti, I'm so glad you were able to do so! DON'T eat those costco muffins, I've seen them before and they are just like 1000 calories because its size. Refrain from simple sugars!

Wonderful job Misti! I totally understand that feeling of 'power' you get when you pass up food like that. I love that I have control over the food instead of the other way around.

I had to chuckle at the kids in my class today because Easter Bunny brought around the prizes in the Easter egg raffle and a couple of them had to be worked out (one ticket had fallen off and one was confusing) so they were left with me. The kids told the organiser that they would be safe with me because I didn't eat chocolate. I thought that was SO cute, because I don't always get that message across and this year it seems to have finally sunk in.

Keep up the great work! (oops... teacher in me coming out... you can just pretend that I put a sticker on your chest)

LOL thanks for the sticker, Zed! I will wear it proudly today! And I have looked at your photos and WOW no wonder people are impressed! Funny about the kids trusting you with their chocolate tee hee.

WTG!!!! We should all keep in our journals these things that we did right each day...like passing up on the candy, not ordering dessert when everyone has, etc...

I went out for lunch with my boss yesterday and she said, "Everyone has to get dessert, it's on the company." I was the only one who said "no thanks" - and it felt good!

Small victories equal big rewards.

It's a wonderful feeling when you finally learn to eat food on your own terms, at the appropriate times, and not just because it's available. I think it goes beyond willpower; it's more like finally having a healthy attitude toward food. This is a huge victory, and you're to be congratulated!
