Today I went to the doctor and noticed right off something strange. When I sat down the chairs seemed to have gotten bigger... there was a lot more room in the chair besides what my butt took up. Weird... they LOOKED like the same chairs!! Hey, what do you know? Must be my BUTT that is smaller LOL.
She has been encouraging me to try to get my blood pressure down and I have really been working at it. I have been so overweight and other health problems that is was hard to exercise... so when I told her I am now walking 5 or 6 miles a day she was really happy! LOL I told her about the Coast to Coast challenge where we are walking across the United States! She was glad I have such good support.
Then she took my blood pressure... and it came out GREAT!!! Yay! She said "I am proud of you!" Really made my day... even though I have horrible allergies but I told her I had been doing the walking even though I am sick.
You walk 5 or 6 miles a day? What an inspiration you are! Congrats on the weight loss, the lower blood pressure, and the healthy lifestyle. You really rock!
Margarita, as to the 5 or 6 miles a day.... yes I usually walk on both my breaks and lunch hour. But it helps too that my job is super active for an office job, and I do a lot of running around during the day. And I could all my steps... put the ped on in the morning and count steps all day. Still, I am out there moving LOL
Thanks so much 2frustrated, Judes and Sheila! And yes, I agree I am blessed to have such a wonderful doctor! So many doctors are NOT supportive of overweight patients and I have even been treated mockingly by some. But not this one... she is fantastic!!! I think she was also happy with my cheerful positive attitude about it... and for THAT in large part I have all of YOU at 3FC to thank!!! And I do!!! Cheerleaders help... and I hope I can be that for you also
That's fantastic Misti! It was an supportive doctor who got me started, so i know how you feel. I'm going to see him later today and can't wait to tell him about the progress I've made. Way to go - you definitely deserve her kudos!
oh misti, that is awesome news!!! I too am hoping that my doctor will be proud of me when i go back in for my annual check up. i want her to see i have been working hard to lose weight. i'm trying to postpone my annual as long as i can, but it is at the end of april. so, i am really trying to make almost 30 pounds by the time i go back!!
