Default tentative success story!

So, I've had a bit of good luck, it turns out. I had houseguests for the past week, and I still managed to lose a fair amount of weight, it seems. I bought a new scale for my house yesterday, and I weighed on it yesterday and again today, and it says that I'm at 199! YES! 199! I'm not sure I believe it though, until it's confirmed by my doctor on Wednesday... So, I'm trying not to get too excited. (though when I weigh at the doctor, I weigh with all my clothes and shoes on...)

Also, I was shopping with my guests during their visit, and I actually walked into a Calvin Klein outlet store and was able to wear a LARGE skirt. NOT XL, not XXL, but L. It was exhilirating. I didn't buy the skirt, but it was thrilling just to be able to walk into stores like Calvin Klein, j.Crew and Ralph Lauren and be able to try SOMETHING on. In most stores, I was down to a 16 in skirts/dresses, and very close to being in a 16 in jeans, and down one size in shirts, too.

I really think that I learned my lesson the last time that I had guests in town. Then, I thought "well, I'll just pretend for tonight that I'm not on this whole diet thing..." and it bit me in the rear. This time I was more disciplined, even when everyone else was pigging out. And it's paid off! I'm pretty excited about this...

That's wonderful! You should feel very proud of yourself for sticking to your plan. I often would fall into the trap of "I'll just pretend I'm not on the diet thing" for just one night and then BAM! before I know it, I'm right back where I started. It's hard enough staying on track for a day, but wow! you managed a whole week with houseguests! Good for you!

Thanks, everyone! I guess this is what people mean when they say they feel like they've made a lifestyle change... This week, when I had the inclination to eat something I knew wasn't good for me, I just thought "this is not an option for me anymore..." and I didn't do it! It's getting easier to make those kinds of decisions as time goes by, I guess! I'm hoping for an excellent weigh-in this week. I will be so happy to be officially in ONEderland!

Yeah, SASSY! I know that store. It is for the tiny girls. I can't wait to shop at stores like that one! It's crazy right now because I'm right in between the plus size section and the regular section... I can't wait to drop another 5-6 pounds so that maybe then I'll officially make it into the regular section again. It's been a long time since I've been able to shop there!

Thanks for the cheers of support!

Congratulations! 199 is such huge milestone... I can't wait. I think it's time to change your quote, there's no way you're a "dreadful bridesmaid" any longer! Unless the dress is dreadful, and then there's no hope....

Keep up the good work!

Congratulations, getting below that 200 mark was a wonderful feeling for me too. I love buying smaller sizes now and tossing that Lane Bryant catalog in the trash. Keep up the good work, it is all worth it.
