Ah, my old high school arch nemesis. But the math sure is good at taking a look at the big picture! I found a link to this online book
http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/e4/preface.html and it inspired me to do a little crunching with the calculator. It has been about 6 months since I started this whole mission to be healthy, some of those months and weeks were more on the track than others, but I figured it was a good time to look at the big picture average of my progress. I’m not exactly sure how much I’ve lost since I only acquired a scale the beginning of January and my 204 starting weight is based on the old slide scale at my YMCA, so lets say for argument’s sake that I’ve lost 20 lbs in 27 weeks even though it may very well be a couple pounds more than that. That would mean that I’ve lost about .75 lbs/week. That’s 375 negative calories a day on average! Somehow I have managed to put out 375 more calories per day than I put in. That’s definitely something, and considering how far off the roadmap I was on some of those days I must have been really good on other days to make up for a net loss. Now if only I could make them all good days how much faster would this be moving?
Oh well, progress is progress.
