Thank you ALL! You guys are awesome. Really you are. Even though I've lost over 113 lbs I still don't feel skinny on the inside. I guess that comes with time. At least I hope it does.
A few have asked how I did it. Basically I watch what I eat. I do NOT count calories. I don't want to live the rest of my life obsessing with numbers so I opted to not count. I don't do WW or any other program. I did this all on my own with my own willpower I guess. I gave up fast foods. I started eating healthy meals 3 times a day and protein filled snacks in between. I drink enough water to fill a bathtub I feels like. In all honesty I didn't do anything other that start eating healthy. I did join a gym when I got to 170 lbs and that helped me with the past 30 lbs. I was hounded by the gym people to get a personal trainer and each time I declined. I wanted to prove to mysel that I could do this on my own. I don't need to pay them money for something I can do by myself. (and let me tell you they are pushy and persistant). I drink green tea at night. I don't eat before bed. I snack on things like rice cakes, yogurt and veggies. I make sure I get enough fibre in a day (25g) to keep my system moving if you know what I mean. The "crap" in our intenstines/colons can accumulate up to 10 lbs of waste if we don't expell it regularly. So be sure to get in your fibre. I don't restrict myself to the point where I'm frustrated because I can't eat this or I can't eat that. If I want some of "that" I have it but in a reasonable portion size. I go out for dinner usually Saturday nights with my hubby. I order what I feel is healthy and low fat. Usually a chicken wrap and salad or similar. I will eat a few of hubbies fries or whatever. The main thing is portion control. I know that a second plate of nacho's and cheese would be heavenly but I don't have it because I don't need it. I eat food now to live. I don't live to eat. Every so often I'll feel like some chocolate or something so I buy a bag of mini chocolate bars (like they have at halloween) and eat one or two of those. They fill the craving and it's far better than eating an entire chocolate bar. Or I'll make Chocolate brownies with All bran in them so I'm getting the best of both worlds. It's really all quite simple once you get going. I really hope I can lose these last 20 ish lbs. I've never in my entire life remember seeing the scale say 125 but I promise I will before my time is up :) Thanks again for all the wonderful encouraging notes. you look fantastic, thanks for sharing. I am down to 16 lbs. left to lose myself and am finding that the loss is barely perceptible now. Only 2 to 3 lbs. a month, but I am determined to get there. Thanks for sharing, you are an inspiration to me.
