Today's laundry day, so I threw my jeans into the laundry pile and went into the closet to get today's pair. (Yes. I have a clothing uniform. When I get to a size that I feel comfortable with, I'm going shopping. And how.) I have lots and lots of jeans in there, from size 6 through size 14, and my husband has been on my case to get rid of them to free up some space.

Well, I just freed up another section! I put on the size 8s, and they fit! They're a little tight in the waist, but I expected that. The legs fit perfectly.

I'm sort of surprised that 5'5"/154 lbs could be a size 8, but American sizes are really sort of inflated, aren't they? (Or is that "deflated"?)

It was a thrilling way to start the day.

Sounds like a sweet victory to me. Shake it in those size 8's baby!

So did you get rid of all jeans over your 10's? That way you won't be tempted to get off this healthy lifestyle you have created CONGRATSSSSS, and I am so inspired!

Doesn't that feel nice? I just came from a closet cleaning adventure. I still need to do more thinning, but I am a pack rat and have trouble parting with things. CONGRATULATIONS on your NSV. Enjoy.

Oh, you betcha I have. For one thing, the clothes I'm getting rid of had made a gigantic mound on the floor and I was having trouble reaching the clothes on the hanger. For another thing: good riddance!

I have kept a pair of the size 14 loose fit jeans (what does that mean, anyhow? 16? 18?) I was wearing in September, just as a reminder. I'm thinking about writing on them THOSE WHO DO NOT REMEMBER THE PAST... but maybe I'll just tear strategic holes in them.

Loose fit jeans... I had a sales lady explain that for me once. The waist is the same, they are just roomier in the butt and thighs for more comfort. I think Lane Bryant calls them "comfort fit."

And congrats on being able to raid your closet and get the size 8's! Good work!

congratulations, it feels great to get into smaller sizes. I started at size 20 and bought 3 new pairs 2 weeks ago, all sizes 6 to 7. I still weigh 161 now and am 5'7 but my hips and legs are so thin from all the walking that I am amazed at how much smaller of sizes I can wear. It is great....
