Default Yay! It's Starting to Happen!

I decided to get brave this morning and try on a few of the too small clothes.... the first pair of pants I tried went up! They were snug so I don't want to wear them yet but definitely getting there... and several other pair also. And some were barely too small but I have a little over two months before the cruise so will have some nice things to wear then!! Including some nice crop pants. Some of these I have never worn!!

The neat thing is... from there on down I have a lot of gorgeous clothes in gradually smaller sizes which I have saved up from clearance sales and yard sales the past few years.... I was selling stuff on eBay but kept these dreaming someday I would wear them.... LOL some of them are pretty small so it won't be THIS summer... but there are some I will be able to wear very soon! Yay!

Dance, some of my favorite victories to read about on this forum are the ones about clothes that finally fit! I'm so happy for you that you're experiencing this victory.

I, too, have a closet full of lovely things just waiting for me to shrink into them, as well as stacks of beautiful fabrics that I can't bring myself to cut into until I'm a smaller size. Successes like yours give me hope that it'll be my turn some day soon.

Keep up the good work!

That's fantastic news Dance. The new you is making her way into the world. Awww yeah!

I guess I'm one of the few that only has like one article of skinny clothes still around the house. I should be able to wear my beloved shorts this summer.

Thanks Margarita... yah I love those stories too but sure didn't think my turn would come right away... and LOL really it hasn't because I can't or won't actually WEAR them... but pulling them UP over my big fat stomach is a victory anyway!

And LOL BeatlesFan... no problem... you will just be "forced" to have to go shopping soon LOLOLOL... what a darn shame!!

Bravo Dance!!!!! You will be styling for sure on your cruise.....
I have a pair of bibs I bought a year ago, bought them on clearance and to small on purpose. At first they wouldn’t go up over my belly but now they go up and I can get the first button on the sides to button. It will still be awhile before I can wear them but it feels so good when every time I put them on I can see progress. Keep up the good work !!!!

I agree, thrift stores are a great place to shop but they don't have much for larger size women!

Fantastic about the bibs, Lynn... don't you just love it when you see that happening? <G>

And Brandy.... thanks for the words of encouragement! Back atcha!!

My thrift store does, it has all my old clothes!!! They go really quickly though!! It's such a thrill to walk in the day after and see them and then the next, they've gone!!!

A few months ago I ran out of my smaller clothes, as i had got rid of a load of smaller things when I moved to the UK!

Well done!

Wow, Dance, that's great! Congratulations!

I haven't yet tried on any of my older, smaller stuff. I'm still wearing the same slacks and tees/sweaters I was wearing in December. They're admittedly more comfy now, though.

I don't think I'll be able to wear much of my older stuff anyway. Too out of date now. Can you say MASSIVE SHOULDER PADS??? Yikes, Dynasty lives again!

I'm hoping to not have to shop until I'm firmly in One-derland. I don't mind if my clothes are a little loose or baggy until then. I guess how I make it through the summer will depend on how last year's summer stuff fits/looks.

Congratulations Dance!!!!! You have worked hard to have this NSV. It is great to see things going SO well for you.

For the past 12 months I have had to be buying new clothes or hoping that someone will pass some down to me. Luckily I have had a few passed down, which I am still getting into. I still have had to buy a lot of new clothes though. How sad, huh? At first the sizes were just ones that I hadn't been in for a LONG time, so had thrown out, but for the past few months it has been because I have NEVER been this size. I went from kids' sizes to a 16 (US12 or so?) and I'm now buying 12s and 14s. My first size 12 label is still on the fridge.

I bought a size 12 pair of jeans from Old Navy when we were in the US, hoping that would be fine for when I reached my target weight. Well, they fit fine now and I still have a little way to go, so may have to buy new jeans as well. I was kinda hoping to just keep showing off my US ones, but I like the fact that they may be too big for me soon.

Keep trying on those clothes! They are a great indicator of how you are going. My scales didn't show much change for a while, but I was fitting into the next size down, so I didn't mind so much. Obviously SOMETHING was happening.

Take care,

Zelma

Congratulations, Dance! Not only can you fit into them now, but you have the added boost of knowing how much work you did for yourself to get there - and nothing's more beautiful than self-confidence (well, except self-confidence in cute capris!)
