Back in Onederland (With a New Attitude)

  • Well, I am finally back in Onederland this week! It's been about a year since I was at this weight. That's my scale victory.

My NSV is that I seem to have a brand-new attitude about the whole weight/fitness thing. In the past, I've felt myself to be a victim of circumstances. If my schedule got too hectic, I'd make excuses to put off my workouts or eat junk all day long to deal with the pressure. But suddenly, I don't do that any more. If something comes up that interferes with my routine, I work around it, instead of just giving up. I'm not saying that "I have arrived," because I know there'll be ups and downs for the rest of my life, and there will be choices to make every single day. Maybe I'm not even explaining this very well, but I guess I'm finally understanding the whole idea of commitment to fitness, KWIM?
  • Congratulations! I am hoping to get there some time soon TOO. Of course I have a lot more to lose in order to be in onederland. Still I expect to make it this year.
  • Congrats, Margarita! I think I understand what you mean about a new attitude...this time round, exercise and thoughtful eating is just something I do...I don't analyze, argue with myself, or feel put out. Well, sometimes I do....but most of the time it is just flowing...I focus on my choices for today, and if I do that everyday, then the changes happen.
  • Happy Day! Good job on the weight loss, but I think the attitude warrants an even bigger CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I'm so happy for you.
  • Thanks for the encouragement, everyone.

You explained it perfectly! I've come to the realization that attitude is as much a part of this journey as are the mechanicals of eating and exercise.

Congrats on making it to One-derland! I'm looking forward to joining you there one day!
  • Yyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa y Margarita!! Happy for you!!!!
