Persistence!

  • Oh I am REALLY excited and happy today! I've been so persistent on my diet. All through January I didn't cheat. All through February I stuck to it although I had 3 days when I ate a little off plan in February. That made my scale go backwards and I paid for it in the bouncing all over the place scale!

But I got back on plan and stayed on the rest of the month. But it was a frustrating month. All month long in February the scale refused to budge. In all I lost 4 pounds in Feb. 2 of which kept showing back up on the scale!

I thought my diet plan had stopped working for me. I thought I was in starvation mode, or hit a plateau, or wasn't going to be able to lose the rest of this weight.

I had hit like 3 or 4 of my goals in January, and then the last of them I had like one or two pounds left to lose so that goal hung around until February. I lost that little bit and hit my last January goal, and so then set a 3 pound goal for February. ALL month I worked for that 3 pounds. I got within ONE pound of making that goal, and then I started going backwards.

BUT my sucess is that I hung in there. I kept on sticking to plan no matter what! Today I was finally rewarded for all that persistence...

In ONE day I had a BIG Whoosh that put me down 2 goals! I set baby goals of no more than 4 or 3 pounds at a time. With losing 3.5 pounds in one day I not only made the goal I strived for so long in February, but the next one too!

So I've lost 10 pounds since Jan 16th. Even though it looked like nothing was happening in February, I guess the fat was still coming off. Hanging in there long enough helped me to finally see it!
  • Congratulations, Sherri! Persistence really does pay off!
  • Good job! I needed to hear that, as my scale has been being pretty mean lately!
  • Sherry, that's excellent! And just what I needed to hear today, too, Mia. I've had this naggly half pound that's been taunting me for little over a week now, up, down, up, down. Highly annoying!

Sherry, you didn't throw in the towel, and I'm not going to either. Congrats to you and thanks for the inspiration!
  • that is great sherri. so good that you didn't give up. we all need to remember, no matter how tough it seems, just don't give up. giving up is admitting defeat. and i REFUSE to admit defeat!!!

    congrats sherry!!!
  • Awesome job. It is so hard to stay focused when things aren't moving. I applaud your determination.
