Interestingly unusual NSV for me...
Yesterday I was having a "munchies" day. I wanted to eat almost every minute of it. For once, I decided to give into it. I decided to let my body tell me when it was full and what it wanted, instead of letting my mind take control. I had chips and pudding and lots of bread, but it wasn't long before my body said "Okay. Enough. Eat some good food now."
My healthy foods yesterday were a skinless chicken breast w/2 1/2 cups of cooked broccoli (more broccoli than chicken :D) and some homemade beef stew that had tons of yummy veggies in it (tomato-sauce based). I even snuck in an orange as a snack. And even with the "bingeing", I only went 116 calories over my "limit"! Could it be that my body has adjusted to all these good-for-me foods, and now it doesn't want the other stuff as much? I really think so. I never thought it would happen! :carrot: |
When I feel the need to overeat, I munch on good foods like non-buttered popcorn or something low cal and munchie like that :) Congrats!

Absolutely! Once you start making a change in your body's chemical makeup...such as eating healthy things all the time...when you put other things ("bad" things) into it, your system sometimes responds, and not in a good way...although it's good for YOU, since then you don't want to eat those "bad" things! :D

Kayley, you are SO right! I ate a chocolate scone earlier this week... let's just say my tummy declared war with the great white throne the next day. I'm learning new limits now. Very interesting.
lessthansign3: I normally do that as well, but for some reason, I just wanted to experiment yesterday. See how far my body would let me go. Evidently, not THAT far! Especially since I still chose to eat fat free pudding, whole wheat bread, and veggies. I'm actually CRAVING broccoli now, even though I've been eating it so much. I went through 5 pounds of it in the last month. I just got another 5lb bag of it a few days ago, and have already eaten something like 5 cups of it! I've also stocked the kitchen with fresh and canned fruits, white tuna, and whole wheat crackers. little by little, I'm managing to work healthiness into my diet :D |
It's amazing how your body adjust to the healthy lifestyle. I found that I simply cannot eat the way I use to, because my body is rebelling against it. It's great because then you don't have to try so hard to control your eating.

That is very cool. It took me a long time to start trusting myself that given the opportunity I would not continue to eat indeffinitely. :) It is those little things that help us build trust in our bodies that maybe we will be able to live a happy life together after all.

Good for you, LadyFirelyght! And it sounds like your whole family is benefitting from your choices, since your kitchen profile is changing! I think that's beginning to happen in my house, too!
Go go, Lady!!! |
