Default I need a few good women

Seriously, I need to find a couple of women who have lost weight and are willing to befriend me to help me lose the weight I need to...

I'm 5'4" weigh 205, down from 221. I have sleep apnea, had GERD (had Lap Nissen Fundoplication surgery on 12/14/05).

I don't have a support system as far as family/friends.

Please someone help me...

We are here for you! I lost 169 1/2 pounds so far and feel wonderful!!! I don't have a family/friend support system either but I am doing it with the help of my buddy group! There are such wonderful gals!! Couldn't do it without them!

I looks like you lost some weight! That's wonderful!!!! What diet plan are you following? Exercise plan? Let us know and we'll help you as much as possible. If you don't know what plan to follow, there is a section on many diet plans. Go check them out and see which one fits into your lifestyle. if you can't find one, come back here and ask, okay?

Thank you guys so much!!! After I had my surgery (Lap Nissen Fundoplication for Acid Reflux) I had lots of problems swallowing. That is how I lost my weight. Thank God I am also not able to eat as much as I used to because when they do that surgery, they take upper 1/3 of your stomach to wrap around your esophagus to tighten your LES so that acid can no longer wash back up causing the heartburn.

So I am lucky there. I am also going to be having my tonsils out around the first of February. I have sleep apnea and get recurrent tonsillitis and uvulitis. I assume I will hurt like crazy and lose another 15-20 lbs just not being able to swallow.

Please stick with me you guys. I don't have any sisters, My family is not close since my mom died 14 years ago. My mother in law is flaky and my two sister-in-laws are drama queens.

I need to lose this weight for my health. My goal is to get off of CPAP (sleep apnea therapy). Do any of you know anything about this?

I have no clue what diet to follow. Right now I'm unable to really eat bread. Oh, but I find my share of cookies, etc.

I appreciate any help I can get.

God bless you wonderful woman!

Heidi

Default Welcome

Hang in there -- We all have our battles. I'm back on the site after being gone for many, many months.

My first task that I started last week was to avoid fast food places (McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, etc). It's been over a week and I'm learning that it is getting easier to drive by those places without stopping.

I believe that weight loss is truly a "lifestyle change" and not a diet. I also don't believe in "losing" weight -- if you lose it you might wind up finding it again! I prefer to refer to it as "weight gone".

My next step is to work harder on preparing family meals at home. Over the past year we have gotten really lazy when it comes to dinner. It's easier to go out and "grab a quick bite" instead of stay home and prepare something. Not only has my waist line "grown" but my pocketbook has "shrunk". I would like to reverse this process.

There is so much helpful information on this site and so many wonderful people to converse with. Again, welcome to the forum and best of luck with your upcoming surgery!
