Default Signed Up!

You got me going! I signed up! Thanks for the info. I'm confused about some of the activities though. It doesn't explain them. For example, "Children's Games". I just played "Trouble" the board game. Otherwise I don't know what they are talking about.

That is too funny!

I know, their activity don't really have a wide variety. Since I go to the gym, I usually just use "Cardio Machines" and Moderate Intensity.. if I kick my butt, I'll go heavy intensity, if I feel like slacking that day, I'll put low.

I just choose the closest thing- something that would burn a similar amount of calories.

It is fun, I like logging it now.It is nice watching that little bar go up as you get closer to your goal, it's a great motivator.

Cool Good Question

I was VERY serious. What qualifies as Children's Games?

I would guess that children's games would be playing with your kids...outside...like, swinging at the park, hide and seek, stuff like that. Where you are actually burning some calories.

i book marked this site for future reference ! Congrats on getting your metal !!

i remember we used to do something called the presidents challenge when i was in grade school and middle school, it was part of our gym program... i'm thinking this is probably the same or simular to the same thing...

I dont think i am quite up to the challenge yet but i think this would be something to look into down the road a little...

i think childrens games would be like tag, hide and seak, monsterball (theres a few varieties of that), kick ball, leap frog... things of that nature

Way to go! I joined the challenge recently and have been logging my activity since January 12. I am 13% of the way towards earning my bronze award.

It helps to keep me motivated to exercise, which is always a good thing. 3fc has a group set up on the site, which I joined as well. There's a thread about it in the exercise forum.

Question

Apparently I signed up for the other one. What's involved to get the medals?

Great job!

Coincidentally I just earned my silver Presidential Champions award yesterday too. Keep up the good work.

Just a PSA here, 3FatChicks.com has it's own Presidental Challenge Group. I post the details about it every month in the exercise forum, and there is a sticky about it there as well. Here's the thread I posted about it in January covering the month of December: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71333.

And here's a cut and paste on information about how to join, and what the various programs are and what you have to be in to get what award:

Cut 'n Paste = ON

If you want to join, simply go to http://www.presidentschallenge.org/index.aspx and then when you register and get to the "My Groups" part enter:

Group ID Number

29852

Group Member ID/Name

(Whatever you wish to be known as)

Everyone is welcome to join! If you have joined in the past but have not entered any activity for a while, don't worry. You're still in the program unless you removed yourself. It's never too late to start up again!

** Please note:

If you are in the Active Lifestyles Program, then you can only earn Active Lifestyle Awards (I won about four of them and never figured that out on my own. I thought after I got enough of them, I'd start working towards my first Bronze. But nope.) If you are in the Active Lifestyles Program and switch over to the Presidential Performance Program, you will be retroactively awarded a Metal award, but it will not show up on the list as an "earned" reward until you actually earn a reward while in that program. For example, I was awarded a President's Champions - Bronze when I switched to the Presidential Performance Program in December-05, but for the January-06 recap I was showing as still having an Active Lifestyles award. When you switch to the Presidential Performance Program, you no longer earn stars for daily activity, and your progress is expressed as a percentage of how far you have earned towards your next medal.

If you are in the Presidential Performance Program, there is a 750 daily cap on the number of points it will count towards your goal. From what I understand, if you go to the Advanced Performance Presidential Champions Program, all your points count, but it takes more of them to earn a medal.

Cut 'n Paste = OFF

Everyone really is truly welcome to join. If you have any questions, post them here, in the exercise forum, or PM me directly and I'll do my best to help!
