I'm brand new here and wish I would have found this site when I started on my WW journey as it is a wonderful way to gain support and encouragement. I look foward to corresponding with others and offering any support I can, as well as getting some if ever I find myself faltering or in need of encouragement.
I'm am a 39yr old mother of two, recently engaged to be married next Spring. Starting a new relationship, I did my usually nesting thing and cooking to please my spouse with my culinary abilities. Well, the pounds (about 20 extra) added up, and before I knew it, I wanted to lose at least 30 pounds. I joined WW on January 20th, 2001 - weighing in at 186.4 (not my highest ever, but definitely higher than I wanted to be). The points program seemed to be written just for me and I found myself losing the weight I wanted to, without (for once) much difficulty. My willpower and determination were definitely an asset in my quest for success. I set my goal weight about 10 pounds more than what I really anted to be at but because I hadn't really be lower than my targetted goal weight of 161, for many years - I wanted to see how I would be at maintaining a little lower and if it was feasible for me, now being a few years older. So, on April 7, 2001 - I reached goal. Then my 6 weeks maintenance kicked in, however, I wanted to continue losing some more. On May 19, 2001, I reached my lifetime status and weighed in at 154.4 (by the way, I'm 5'9")
I am finding this weight comfortable to maintain but, I am going to maintain this weight for a while and then ultimately shoot for my personal (new) goal weight of 145 (can't remember when I last weighed that!!)
Again, I look forward to spending some time on this site and reading other stories of success - as well as maybe being able to offer some advice and support to those struggling - wanting to help in any way I can.
