Talking I got to buy capris that were 2 sizes smaller!

I've been putting off buying clothes lately- thinking I can lose just a few more pounds and get down before I buy anything. Well, over the weekend, I realized that the capris I was wearing were literally hanging off my waist to the point that I could paracitcally pull them up to my neck Ed Grimly style (anyone remember him?)

I've lost 20 pounds in 2 months, and I've been pretty much stuck there lately, but something must be working. I measured myself when I first started dieting (2/16/05) and again last week (4/13/05). In that time, I've lost:

1.50" on my biceps
0.75" on my forearms
2.25" from my chest
4.75" from my waist
2.50" from my hips
2.75" from my thigh
1.00" from my calf

The best part is that I know I didn't fit in a smaller size just because it was a different manufacturer. I bought the same style and same brand, just in a 16W instead of a 20W. My next goal is to get out of the W sizes completely.

that is so good!!! I'm so pround of you. I can't wait until that happend so me. I'm still in my same old pants and they are still tight. I think once I hit the 20 pound mark they should be loser. who knows.
that is my main goal, to get out of the W or plus size and be able to shop at regular stores. Even if I'm the largest size in the store. I just took my measurements this weekend because I hadn't when I first started. Those are huge loses you have achieved in your inches.
Keep up the good work.

Congratulations, that's awesome! I also bought a pair of jeans that was two sizes smaller yesterday! I'm almost back to my pre-college weight (which was still kind of heavy, oops!). You know what's funny though is that the cut is everything -- I tried on two pairs of Levi's jeans (515 in a 12 and 550 in a 10), and the one that was a bigger size was too small for me, but the smaller size fit!

That's totally awesome though. I'm sure in another two months you will be able to buy even smaller clothes!

Great Job, I had a victory this weekend myself, finally after being stuck for months at the same weight, I saw a 2lb loss. I felt the scale was never going to break 197lbs, Im doing everything right, so I dont know what I did this week to see the loss. I too am holding off on buying clothes, hoping I can buy the next size down for summer!!!

Awesome job Michellejy!!!

It's so exciting to see the results of all your effort finally come into play!

Small suggestion: Since it seems you're a really good girl about taking your measurements (whereas I am a really bad girl there and almost never do it hehe) I just wanted to suggest that you measure your neck as well. It sounds bizarre, but I lost a TON of weight off my neck. I had never realized that my neck was "heavy" but after I had finally dropped down into the 150's I tried to wear a choker necklace that I bought at the shore when I was 240. It barely fit when I was 240 and now it hangs around my neck (an extra inch or two too loose to wear ). Since you're tracking inches anyway, you might want to check out your neck measurements once in awhile too

Keep up the excellent work!! Best of luck!!!

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually do measure my neck in addition to everything else, but that is the one measurement that hasn't changed at all. It was 12.75" when I started, and it's still there two months later. For some weird reason, I have small ankles, wrists, fingers, and a small neck. My friends think it's insane that I wear a size 4 wedding ring (especially weird at this weight!). I guess that's the only size 4 I will ever be seeing

That's cool michellejy congratulations

i keep measurements too and I can honestly say the inches make all the difference no matter what the scale says. your measurements are excellent.
my waist went from 51 inches to 43 inches and that's with me pushing my belly ALLLLL the way out. Praise God!! Wow your neck is 12.75 that is awesome i wish mine were that small LOL. I'm getting there though.
