Thumbs up I don't know HOW but...

I weighed in today and I was down a lot more than I expected I've been working really hard for over 2 weeks now, stepping it up a notch, changing my exercise routine. Maybe last week's weigh in was a little higher due to water retention, who knows, but in 2 weeks, it appears I have lost 7 pounds! I'm eating lots of veggies, some fruit, my complex carbs and some dairy so I'm stunned. (I'm a south beacher) AND I had a cheat day in the middle! All the times I've watched Losing It on Life Network I've wondered "How do these people lose so much weight in ONE week?" because I know they are just normal people like me, with weaknesses and limitations. I know I sound like I'm harping here but I'm truly stunned, in a good way

AND on top of it, I went shopping again today and found a bathing suit that I LOVE and will have NO shame wearing in public

So, it's been such a wonderful Friday for me! I just have to keep in mind that I need to not put pressure on myself to continue to lose at this rate. It's just an added bonus and I have to remember, remember, remember, that even a 1 or 2 pound loss is a great step forward. Yahoooo!

Take care.

Wow that is great! How do you like SB? I tried it and maybe I did not give it enough time. I do have high cholesterol so I can not eat alot of meat and cheese. I am afraid to try it again. What do you think?

Default SBD is working for me and hubby

Hi Tina,
The 1st 2 wks of SBD was very, very challenging b/c of the restriction on carbs, but once hubby and I got through, we both have done fairly good. We've both been on since the end of Jan and have lost 25lbs each.

I think SBD is okay for you since it teaches to eat limited amounts of healthy fats and avoid the ones that are bad for people with health conditions (trans, hydrogenated), unlike Atkins, which can be really dangerous for some folks. My hubby was diagnosed with high blood pressure and moderately high cholesterol. We went to a dietician and she said SBD would be okay since the cheese and dairy is in moderation, and is all low fat. It's not like we eat huge blocks of it, more like 1 oz. The fish and meats are all lean and prepared with very little or not fat. The emphasis is on fresh veggies. Since we've started my hubby's bp has gone down significantly and we both feel great.

So, considering your health problems, you might want to ask your doctor or a nutritionist about SBD and if it works for you. Hubby is going for blood work today to check cholesterol, will keep you updated. Good luck!

WTG. That is awesome. And finding a bathing suit to boot. Sounds like an all around great week. I'm glad to hear you're doing well. I hadn't seen any posts from you over at 100+ in a bit.
