Default I actually JOGGED, people!

Okay, it wasn't for long. And things were jiggling more than I feel comfortable with. But I did it!!

It has been so long since I even thought about jogging, I'm surprised I even still knew how to do it! I've been walking for almost a week now, getting faster every day, and I felt really energized and just decided to go for it! I'm proud of myself, and it makes me want to try to go even longer.

I've been getting better foods in my body, I haven't made chocolate chip cookies in a while, and I've been excercising every day. I may actually be able to keep going with it this time!

Yay

Congrats!

Yeah, I think you will notice that it really does get easier!...I've noticed as the weight slowly drops I find that I actually WANT to exercise more an more as it seems to have an "energizing" effect. Great job & keep up with it, you'll get better & stronger at it, and feel so happy at all you've accomplished!

Good job! I am considering doing that also, but jogging and ice just don't mix. :P So I either have to get a treadmill or wait til the spring.

My friend who is also trying to lose weight found that when he started jogging, he dropped pounds even more quickly than with aerobics.

Says who? My first race was the New Hampshire Jingle Bell Run/Walk. I ran 3k in the middle of a noreaster. Hint...wear cleats.

Niksa-
You could go to a sports equipment store (since I know treadmills can run rather expensive) - they have small stamina jogger trampolines, which would also be beneficial because it's low impact. There's one at Dick's Sporting Goods for $79 & it comes with a work out video.

I've never tried it, but it could be worth the investment, it looks pretty promising!

Big congrats! It is amazing how jogging can get easier as you lose weight and as you get accustomed to it. Buy a good sports bra!

I'm so not jogging on ice (and feet of snow), guys, even with cleats. I can barely walk to the car without doing the two-arm wave. But I will check into the trampoline.. I can do that inside the garage maybe, where it's kinda warm.

We have Play It Again Sports and 2nd Wind here, but that's it. 2nd Wind has "used" treadmills for $750 lowest, and up to $3000. Insane! Play It Again Sports has some for like $60, but they are kinda funny. They remind me of R2D2 from the 70s, tiny things with tracks about 14 inches wide, and they make these clunking noises when you turn them on. I'm surprised they still work at all. :P I doubt I could jog on one without breaking it.

But in the meantime, I am using a gazelle, but it has no resistence. That trampoline thing might be good.. I'll see if anyone carries it. But a trampoline.. I will DEFINITELY need a mega sports bra of steel!

congrats. those first few steps of jogging are the hardest ones to make. if you are like me, you will become addicted. i jog just about everywhere i go now. from the car to the store, around the house, between classes at school. walking just seems to slow now. people at work hate me because i'm always jogging to the cooler, or the register and i kind of run over people when i do that. oh well. i say they need to get the lead out. hahahaha.

Doesn't it feel fantastic?!! I've been exercising for five days now (just started my "new" way of life on the 9th). My fiance and I went on a walk yesterday and I jogged for half a block. It wasn't much at all, but I was so proud of myself for doing it! Keep up the good work baby!!
