HI EVERYONE, WAY TO GO TO EVERYONE W/ SUCCESS ,IM ON MY WAY.IM NEW HERE TO 3FC AND LOOKING TO LOOSE 130LBS I JUST STARTED A LOW FAT 1200-15OO CAL ''DIET'' OR LIFE CHANGE.THE PROBLEM IS IM A NIGHT BINGER I DO GREAT ALL DAY WHEN NIGHT COMES WATCH OUT IM COMMING THROUGH LOL ANY ADVICE??? IM HOPING TO ALSO FIND A FRIEND ON HERE TO HELP ME ALONG THE WAY THANKS..... DO THE CRAVINGS FOR SWEETS, PIZZAS, AND A WHOLE COW EVER GO AWAY LOL ???

When I started, my binging was so out of control I thought I would never get control, but I did. What helped me is planning what I was going to eat ahead of time & sticking to that plan. I too lost weight by eating a 1200 calorie balanced eating plan, though on some days I did 1400 or 1500 calories. I found that if I increased my calories a little on some days, it helped. I also focused on mimi=goals- 5 lbs at a time. It helped me from feeling overwhelmed. Also, it may be a good idea to talk to your doctor to see if 1200-1500 calories is enough at this point. Also, I ate as many non-starchy vegetables as I wanted (plus sugar free jello & I chewed sugar free gum), which helped a lot. The craving do diminish & eventually stop (except before my period- but I plan to eat a little extra on pms days). Now that I am maintaining, I find that I never want to go back to how I felt when I was binging. Good luck - you can do it!!!
I never thought it would happen for me, but yes, those craving do stop!! It's amazing how after a few months of eating better, I can walk by the bakery aisle or the ice cream aisle and just keep on walking. I will admit though, like Sophie, I get the hungries around my period. Sometimes I do give in, but I don't go overboard.
I like the idea of having prepared meals. That sounds like a good way to start and get some healthy eating ideas.
As for the late night eating, I would just keep that bad stuff out of the house. Replace it with fruit or other low cal snacks.
Muffin, your cravings won't go away if they get instant satisfaction from you.
My husband told me one time that he really enjoys the feeling of hunger. I thought he was crazy, but then I really thought about it. Hunger is a nice feeling. Not STARVING, but hunger. Then you feed it and are satisfied. That satisfaction is so much better than just eating for the sake of it.
Only you can knock off your cravings. It's a wonderful feeling to be in CONTROL.

Muffin, that is a very intimate decision only you can make. My sister had the surgery. She wishes now that she could have done it on her own because her eating habits are changed for life, but on the same token, she doesn't know if she would have ever made it to here without the surgery.
