  • Today is my one month anniversary at Curves. I have tried to go everyday but I have missed maybe 3 days. Once a month they weigh and measure you, so today was my turn. I have lost 12 inches and 4lbs in 1 month. YIPEEEEE. I am sooo giddy!!! I won a T-shirt because I lost over 10 inches in my first month.

One of the best things about it is I am losing a couple inches off my boobs!

Well, I just wanted to share and wish everyone luck.

    Cassandra
  • Congratulations! That's a lot of progress in one month! Please keep us updated with your success, to inspire the rest of us
  • Way to go, Cassandra. Are you also following any weight loss programmes???

    Nice pictures!
  • Fantastic results for your 1st month 12 inches is mega loss well done.

Love your animals (must get my scanner working)

    Yo-yo Dee
  • Congrats Cassandra! How often do you go to Curves? I was thinking of joining because I find the Fitness Centre by my house so intimidating!

  • Carlie,
I go to Curves every day. Well, I think I might have missed 3 days last month. I love it. I feel mega guilty if I dont go. I just realized I could work out, make friends, lose weight...all in the time that I sit and complain about it.

    Bandit2,
I am on a special PCOS diet. It is high fiber/low fat. There is a whole thread with my diet in the PCOS forum. PM me if you want me to send it to you.

A few of you mentioned my pictures. I love all of my animals, even though they are eating us out of house and home! I would have a million more if I could! I have fish too.

Well, Have to go fix dinner....hot ham and cheese sandwiches! (dont worry... wheat bread , 2% cheese, & baked potato chips)

  • Hello!

    May I join in?

I just called "Curves" today. They are opening brand new in my area on Mon - Sept 15th. I have set up for an appointment to begin then. It is wonderful to see how well you all have done on it!! Gives me encouragement! I am on the South Beach Diet now and have lost 11 lbs so far and from what I have read Curves teaches pretty much the same thing. There are three phases to the SBD, but I intend to stay in phase II till I lose the weight if not for always. I like it so much better then Atkins (which I would not do --- stresses the kidneys), because you can eat carbs, as long as it is from full grains and some furits & lots of veggies and he teaches that going 'lite' is good both in foods and in portions. I just keep the carbs as low as possible and it works for me. I also have the 'Pilates' tapes, but haven't really gotten into it yet. Thought I would after I began the Curves on the days I don't go. I will slowly introduce Pilates once I get a feel of things at Curves... I don't want to go too fast.

So is there hope for this girl?
What am I saying! Sure there is... there's always hope !

    I love your pet pics!
I have three cats... these two are brothers Guido & Zeppe (1yr)
  • And this is Domino (7 1/2yrs)...
  • Welcome Sunny..you will love it here...all the "chicks" are great!!!!
  • You will really enjoy Curves. I try to go everyday. I am kind of wanting a tread mill to walk on too.

I love your cats. Domino is precious!!!!

    keep us updated!

  • CASSANDRA ~ Thank you so much for the compliment on my cats! You're sweet. We call Domino "our little man"... he is allot of male tucked into his 7 1/2 lb frame... so adorable. The other two we just got a little over a year ago at only 5 weeks old. They are spoiled too. Guido is my love-bug, loves to be cuddled and Zeppe is such a baby. Just gotta love pets, huh. Unconditional Love!

I really love the pictures of your pets as well. I saw you were posting on another thread, but decided to follow you here... (didn't feel like I fit in there yet) hope you don't mind. You are beautiful and very photogenic! I wish you well on your continued weight-loss and inch- loss I look forward to going to Curves on the 15th! That's when they open here.
  • PS... I will join in on the 'Curves' thread on my first day I DO go. I would like to be a part of that thread too. I hope you feel better, Cassandra, I have felt the exact same way when I see myself in pictures! Don't let it get you down, you are doing so well!! (I read your post on the Curves thread along with all the other gals). I cannot wait to join and feel the same results you all have felt!
  • Sunny,
I am sooo glad you decided to join in. You are more than welcome to join in on any thread you want. You can always p/m me or post anytime. I could talk all day and never take a breath.
I am trying to get my husband to make me a web page with a bunch of pics of my animals. I wish I could have a million more but the ones I have are eating me out of house and home. I will be sure to let you know when he gets to it so you can check out my babies.
    Talk to you soon!!!

  • Hi Cassandra!

I got a call from Sue today (the Curves owner here) and I cannot get in till Tuesday morning now (the 16th! - bummer!) and even then she will not be able to start me on my workouts that day. She wasn't able to tell me "when" I will be able to for sure... I am so anxious to begin.

Thus, I have exposed one of my many faults to you ~ impatience! Just gotta take a deep breath in and chill-out. I am a hopeless perfectionist (note all my edits!)... but am so much easier on others - then myself! As I can be so very anxious about things I want to jump into... you know what I mean. Almost as if... If I don't move quickly I may have the time to change my mind. I really have allot of things trying to get in my way. Last night on my way to a birthday party I tripped and turned my ankle! I thought it was okay today, but it hurts like the devil now. Hopefully by Tuesday - next week all will be healed...

Maybe this will all be just fine after all, I'll have time to heal up
  • Sunny, I know exactly what you mean, I am the queen of impatience. Hopefully you will be able to get started at Curves soon. When I first started my ankles gave me trouble because they were not used to all that weight being pounded on them everyday. I started wearing ace neoprene (sp?) braces on them and they feel normal now. I just kept on going and waited till I got home to complain. I sure do hope yours feel better soon!

    ok... talk to you later.
    Cassandra
(p.s. I like the pics you post. They are cute!!)
