Default I just want to scream Hallejuah!

Hello All!
I have been coming to this site since mid Jan. That was when I started my mission to get healthy. I have to say there has been so much support, encouragement and congradulations. This site is the best.

I have a hard time "bragging" on myself but if my story can help anyone I will shout it from the rooftops. I have lost 43 lbs since I started here. Today I was able to purchase two pairs of size 10's. I am so excited I wanted to call everyone I know and tell everyone here. I had to put them on while I was typing I was so excited.

I still have about 30 lbs to go. But I know I can do it. Believe me ladies if I can do this anyone can. I have been overweight since I was in highschool. The biggest thing I had to be proud of to date was I did lose 65 lbs 8 years ago and I was thin for my wedding and my college graduation. But sadly two kids later it was all back. I turned 30 this year and that speared some kind of determination in me. I will be proud of myself again and this time I will keep it off. Lets do this together ladies! WE CAN DO IT!!

43 lbs since January is awesome! Way to go! I've only lost 40 and I started travelling the healthier route at the first of November. I'm excited tho....like you, my age was the turning point. I turned 40 in March and several months before that, I panicked thinking.."I have got to do something quick..everyone says it's much harder after 40". What kind of plan did you follow? I love hearing how everyone else reaches their successes.

Congrats again!

Thanks Everyone! I know you all can do it!

Miki, I bascially just started cutting back. I stop when I am full. That means rarely ever seconds and only a snack if I am hungry. I found when I really pay attention to my body I was just simply eating way to much food. I would eat just to eat all the time. It was not really emotional eating like if I was sad or upset. But if I was bored or it just sounded good. Something sounding good was the major problem Whether I was hungry or not I always had to finish my plate and have seconds. I would usally finish my kids plates to because it was there. I bet a lot of women gain weight that way! If you pay attention to how much of your kids food you finish you would be surprised.

Now I do try to watch what I do chose to eat when I am hungry also. I don't really forbid foods just choose wisely and limit my splurges. It takes planning. But I do not count calories or right it down. For me that is to much work and ends up feeling one more job I have to do on top of the other stuff!

Exercise and water have also played a major role. Basically it has been my own plan. What works for me. How did you do it? i look forward to reading everyones success stories shortly!

Beth,

Sounds like we have the exact same plan! Dang it...I was hoping you had some new one that I didnt know about. Funny how we're always looking for that 'miracle do nothing and lose' diet ..lol Guess it's just working a little slower for me than you. One thing I've noticed is that in the last few months I have really been slack in my water drinking. I have just got to get back on track with that. I really think it's a big part. Like you, I dont make make any certain foods offlimits because I know once I do, that's exactly what I'll crave. And if I crave and refuse to give in, I end up eating it anyway but wayyy too much by then. Hey, maybe it's going slower for me cuz I'm so much older than you.

Congrats again on your success. Keep it up!

Miki
