Congratulations!
Don't worry too much about your husband - general experience is that men are rather slow out of the gate on somethings... :D
One possible reason that people notice less is that you might be wearing your older clothes, and even if they are looser, they might still associate old clothing with the old you. I know it's really silly to keep buying clothing as you're loosing weight, but maybe one new top would be a bit of a reward for your work and would help show off your results. You could always donate your 'in between clothing' to a charity at the end. It would be a great way to celebrate your success and they could certainly use a variety of sizes in good shape. I think 25 pounds is a tremendous accomplishment!! Enjoy your anomimity while it lasts! Soon, everyone will be noticing your accomplishments and, unfortunately, there will be negative comments from negative people. Good luck!:s: |
WAY TO GO!! Keep with it!! All the sudden you will be a size 18 and they will ALL NOTICE THEN!!!
:) Best of luck! That is waaay awesome!! How did you lose the first 25? |
I think we are all way too self-conscious. We see people day in and day out but rarely LOOK at them. It's the difference between hearing and listening. Hubbies can hear ya - but are they listening?
I find it reassuring that people glance up and notice that I'm there but hardly ever spend much time looking me over. I worry so much about my weight or the zit on my chin or the grass stains on the knees of my jeans - and really, does anyone care? They are worring about THEMSELVES and what people are thinking of them. I saw a psychological/visual test result that showed where folks look when they are talking to you and there was a glance at the hair, one or two at the mouth, and a couple hundred hits on the eyes. They weren't even looking at your zit or your double chin - they were looking at YOU - your soul! I try to remember this when I have a cold sore and want to hide in my dark bedroom until it goes away! I've wasted too much time wondering/caring what other people think. You've got to be your own best cheerleader. |
congrate soon2be on the loss. good for you and if the others dont notice then that is there problem not yours. I just want to say something to everyone out ther PLEASE when you loose dont change who you are. I have known some who done that but PLEASE each one of you stay your loveable selves.

I myself have lost 10 lbs in the past month, and no one noticed :(

Derek - good job - the next ten will start to catch their eye - and remember you're doing it for yourself - and you notice, I bet. When your pants start getting loose you're going to LOVE IT!
Stick with it! |
Let me jump up and down and yell hooray for you! What a great job you have done!
I'm down 11 pounds(only, so far) - and I seem to be the only one who has noticed *sigh* It would be nice to hear just one "Have you lost weight"? But we don't really do this for the adolation of others, do we? *L* |
Hey! Good for you! I think thats great! I have lost 18 lbs since Sept. 16th and it's not really noticable, but it will be, just stick with it. I for one amd very happy for you! Yay!!! Keep it up, you're doing great!
|
:bravo: You should jump up nd down for joy! Remember, yoiu're doing this for you.....right?
|
It's true - I'm down twenty pounds but you'd have to read the label on the back of my Levi's to see I'm down a size. Doesn't look like much to most people, I bet. But *I* know! I feel lighter when I swing up into my Dad's pickup. Weird but true! It's worth it - hang in there.

A 25 pound loss is AWESOME. Sometimes it just takes a while, I lost about 50 pounds before people said, have you lost a little weight? But pretty soon you will be down some more and I know people will start noticing and the compliments will start rolling in.
:bravo: You are Doing GREAT!!!!! |
Congratulations!!!! I'm in the same boat, and it would be so nice for someone to make up over me! But I have to realize that there are several things going on.
1) We've moved from summer into winter. Even though most of my summer things have been given away in my 'lost 25 lbs, all things over size 20 to Goodwill' binge, my winter clothes are not going to clue people into the size change as easily. I'm wearing clothes I haven't worn in years, but most suits are similiar, so there are very few objective clues. 2) I have a rather odd boss who has let the assistant know in the past that he didn't mention wt loss to me, because I might let up and gain it all back! As if he had that kind of control in my life! Please! 3) I've gotten the 'love that hairdo' or 'love that outfit' a lot lately. I think the wt loss comments can't be far behind! 4) I've noticed that people treat me a bit differently. They are warmer and more inclusive. I think it is a subtle difference in my expression that changes this... the wt loss has made my expression more expressive of my real feelings. I think they can see that I like them, whereas before I might have looked grumpy, even when I wasn't. Good luck for the rest of the weigh! Su |
