  • Morning, Chicks! <--That's me being hopeful...as it's pouring here.

Sitting here drinking Weinactstea (sp?) from our trip to Heidelberg and wishing it didn't look like night in our house! I've got my sun lamp on, though, and I'm pretending I'm in Jamaica and counting my blessings...at least it's not hot!

Ruth, I'm sure that any 'unclean' living this weekend was worth it. Glad you're back on track, though. You've been doing so well lately and it's good to see. I had three servings of starch a day on Sat. and Sun and I'm with you...back to clean living... I hope that the trip with Harry goes well and that he's hanging out by the trunk of the tree so you can perhaps have a good talk. Have a great day with the gardening...hope the rain holds off! Glad you figured out where your wallet is...I hate when I lose stuff!

Schatzi, you have personality plus!!! I hear you on the rain...we've had it, off and on, for several days now, and my sunken parterre garden is turning into a pond. I'm praying that the mosquitos aren't laying their eggs in it as we speak... I hope you have tons of days of bright sunshine in your future to make up for this deluge!

Carol! Glad to have you with us!

Cottage, I so hear you! Sorry that the flooding is so bad in your area, though. Glad Monica was safe both ways. Enjoy your day...it sounds fantastic!

Lots of coming your way, Ms.Crockett! Hope that the interview goes very well! I'm sure they'll be impressed. Just don't forget to imagine 'em naked to calm your nerves.

Kiko, congrats on the sleep. Sounds delish! Sorry that you're feeling bad about your pictures. I hear you...it's hard sometimes to deal with how your mind feels about your weight, but sometimes feeling fat is the most detrimental thing you can do to getting healthy. Just try to focus on how much better you are now than you were...and forge forward.

Sorry I can't get to everyone...

    Me:
Today is grocery shopping/menu making day. DH and I spent the weekend mostly in the bathroom spackling, taping, and getting the wallboard ready...it's a big project, but it'll be so pretty when it's done! We finally picked out a floor for the kitchen. I'm not in love with it, but it'll work and we've been going insane trying to find something, so I'm just ready for it to be over. I just pray that I won't hate it later... We're going to the floor place tonight to see if we can pick one for our basement remodel...if so, we can schedule them to come give us a quote and perhaps we can have floors in by the end of July. That would be awesome!!!

Today's DH and my 7 year anniversary. It's a special one...we're going to just do a quiet dinner at home and perhaps play a game or something like that.

Have a great day, chickies!!! Stay dry (or keep treading water and burn off some calories!)
  • Good Morning from San Diego..I decided to get back to SB today. I have been cutting out the sugar "addict for sure" and the white junk. The SB will be good for me right now.
  • Workin - I'm not an expert (maybe they can chime in?), but I'm thinking you're not getting enough calories or veggies. Have you tried running everything through fitday or tracking on your own to get an idea of how many calories you're eating? I know it's hard to believe, but sometimes we need to eat more to lose the weight. Calories shouldn't go below 1200 a day or your body will go into starvation mode.
Again, I'm no expert, but here's my menu for today:
B - coffee w/ milk ** I skip breakfast which is bad, bad, bad
S - 1/2 cup cottage cheese with cinnamon & splenda, 1/2 oz. almonds
L - 1 can tuna over lettuce & baby spinach with casear vinegrette dressing - I might throw some cheese in there too.
S - a cupcake-size serving of breakfast cheesecake (~160 calories) - this is a little high calorie-wise for a snack, but AF is here and I'm under a lot of stress right now, so I'm doing whatever I need to get me through this week. Having this as a snack feels indulgent.
D - beef stew (packed with veggies) & a side salad
    S - If I feel I need a snack after dinner I'll have a nsa fudgecicle.
Calories are about 1250 without the fudgecicle and I'm getting plenty of veggies. Plus lots of water, water, water.

    Hope this helps a bit.

edited to say: I'm on P1 this week.
  • Workinit...got agree with Kelly.. It doesn't look like you are getting enough calories or eating enough in general.
Strive to get in at least 3 cups of veggies... (Iceberg lettuce has the least nutritional value... the greener the better!)
Try adding 2 snacks between your meals...LF String cheese, celery stuffed with a tbsp of PB or eggsalad, a handful of almonds... And you need some more protein. hang in there...we'll help you tweak your menus..

Lets all try for those healthy fats, proteins, legumes, veggies !
  • Job interview went well, and from the way My friend the director talked I assume she is wanting me for the position, considering she stated "CRISTIE WILL BE TRAINING YOU!" Just in general conversation she implied that I was the one for the job,. I will know something in two weeks or so. I am thinking the only way to not get it is if someone with the physical experience of the job would apply.. You never know..
  • crokette! u rocked it girl
  • Hi:
I took a bit of an SBD break life went nuts. as soon as my groceries get delivered tomorrow I'm going back to ph 1 as I feel like an ORCA and also like poop.
I'm waiting for approval for WLS hopefully to be done in the fall But I want to get back to my clean eating habits So that it will be an easier transition
and I really missed you guys and I was too ashamed to come back in here
    Thanks,
    Kierie
  • First off Happy Anniversary Beachgal!

Now to the daily grind. I am not feeling all too great today. Not hungry in the leat bit, so I haven't eaten yet today, but I have taken in lots of water, and some low sodium chicken broth.

I have nothing on my agenda as long as I am feeling bad. if I feel better I'm going to apply for a job.
  • Schatzi....Thanks for your response. Ok I'll try the snacks as I am weak on that. I get busy here at work and just don't think about it, or it gets to close to lunch so I'll just wait. Could be why I'm hungry eh?? How much more protein. Is there a limit on the amount of protein in Phase II..? Should I stay on Phase I??? I'm "workinit".
  • Kelly, thank you too for your response. After reading your post, I don't think I'm eating enough. I don't know what "fitday" is, but I will try to calculate the calories of what I am eating. Thanks for the advise and I"ll keep you posted.

    workinit
  • workinit..doll!!! here is a link to fitday.. it's one of a few free calorie /activity trackers available out there. It might take some time in the beginning to set up but it is worth it! Cuz you are worth it! www.fitday.com just click on the blue link here and you can get started. What was educational for me is that I eat alot of hidden FAT and SODIUM!!!

There is no limit on proteins, however, 1 serving/3 oz is about the size of a deck a cards or your palm.. but while portion control is key...in the beginning of SBD, try to concentrate on eating healthy..

KO/Keirie you've come Home!!! never feel ashamed KO, never! we all are doing our best, trying, thinking about trying, mad about falling off the towel...etc... You're towel is right here darlin!!!

and gosh how'd I miss BG's Anniversary!!!! Newlyweds still!!!! Enjoy...and might I suggest some dark choco dipped strawberries with some champagne?

feel better Mudlicious--good thinking on the chix soup!
  • Thanks Kelly, I had a wonderful birthday that ran over into the weekend. That way I stayed away from posting. Going to give it a few more days before I get on the dreaded scale.

You really hit the nail on the head, 1200 cal is what Iwas doing for a long time & than,I was told that was a nono ,like you told Workin. My friend told me that yesterday that her DH's personal trainer told him that also. STARVATION MODE Now I'm up from 1320 to 1920 calorie range.

    Thanks for the info,

    Hugs BB
  • Hi, gals! I had today off work as a comp day. Brian has been wanting to go to the top of Reunion Tower for awhile so we decided to kill two birds with one stone and let him work on his Cub Scout Transportation activity badge at the same time. He got the light rail schedule and we took the train to downtown and had lunch in the West End. I had a shrimp and veggie dish off the Atkins menu at TGI Fridays that seemed to meet the SBD rules. Then we went over to Union Station and to the top of the tower. He got lots of pictures from every direction. He really got a kick out of seeing the Amtrack trains at the same time as the light rail and even seeing a helicopter come by lower than he was.

I'm back up a few pounds so I don't know if I'm going to make my June goal. I'll just have to wait and see. Aunt Flo just left. She wasn't due to visit but I got so busy with camp last week I forgot to take my pills for a few days. I guess it's also good that I'm to busy for anything else!

Tomorrow I am supposed to work from home but Brian has a dental cleaning at 8. Last time I was there, they had a sign that they have wireless connectivity so I'm going to try to bring my cell phone and laptop and see if I can get some work done. I would have taken tomorrow off instead of today if I had remembered about the dentist. Or if I had made the appointment for the afternoon then DH could have taken him. Oh, well. Such is life!
