The Easter Rattie
Just wanted to share this cute little poem with you ladies. Happy Easter to everyone. (No offense to all the lovely little easter bunnies out there)
There was a rat, a snow-white rat who thought it mighty funny
That lovely treats of egg-shaped treats were hidden by a bunny
"Bunnies don't like eggs" he cried. "All they do is hop around,
And if a bunny tried to carry eggs they'd end up on the ground."
"But a rattie guy like me," he said (his name by the way is Pip),
Has eight pink fingers and big rat feet, so for sure I wouldn't trip."
So Pip the Rat put on his vest and favorite Easter shoes,
Took out his brushes and his paints in lovely rainbow hues
He painted eggs in "Rat Tail Pink" and georgeous "Rat Eye Blue"
And made delicious chocolate rats, each little child gets two.
Then Pip the Rat put on his Easter hat (it is his pride and joy),
And set off bringing Easter treats to every girl and boy.
Come Easter morn, the city kids, and all from surrounding towns,
Went looking for their Easter eggs, searching up and down,
And in abundance, Easter eggs so colorful and sweet
And chocolate rats with little hats and great big rattie feet.
The town folks were enraptured by little Pip the Rat.
He rode through town to cheers of joy, waving his little purple hat.
Now the town folks all decided, no arguing with that,
Flop-eared bunnies just won't do, from now on it's the Easter Rat.
The vote, it was unanimous, of all rats he's the best
To hold the title Easter Rat, little Pip in his hat and vest!
