Default Phase One Question

I know that 3500 calories equal 1 pound so how in the heck do some people lose up to 14 pounds in 2 weeks on phase 1? I lost about 8 pounds myself but I'm just wondering how that works. I know I did not cut 28000 (3500 times 8) calories out of my diet or exercise enough to equal that much. Is it because of the glycemic thing? I know you wise chickies probably have the answer so I figured all I have to do is ask

Initial weightloss is usually faster because a lot of it is water. It also is affected by whether you were on a diet previously, age, activity level and time of the month. There just is no one size fits all in weightloss!
