"Nuthin could be fina than to be in Carolina in the mawnin' " .... I guess.
I just took a look outside and no stars, just funny white puffy things falling down. It looks like the sky duvet is leaking.

Had a crappy night of sleep but need to get over it quickly. I have two cousins coming today and need to finish some cooking. I started a boeuf bourguignonne last night and didn't realize it needs three hours in the oven. I'd better get it into the oven soon as there's mushrooms and stuff to add when it's done. Peter and Ian will be here for dinner at noon which always includes pie as far as those two are concerned. Luckily I have frozen pie shells on hand and blueberries so it'll be quick.

My sister is coming for dinner tonight and bringing the meal! She had invited me to the Farm but I'm still feeling a bit wobbly about driving so she switched to coming here. I left her a voice mail and suggested she join us for lunch but don't knowif she'll get it. My sister is always "en route" to somewhere and does not have a cell phone. Somehow I suspect this will not be an OP eating day!

So what's happening with you today?

Okay, okay, I'm up Schatzi, now where's my coffee? I haven't looked outside to see what's happening out there yet, I'll be leaving at 6:45 for Curves, so I'll find out then. I do know it's 31* out, brrrrrr! Aren't those $ stores fun? Your day sounds wonderful, just crafting and listening to Christmas carols, enjoy!

Ruth, you're up early, sounds like you're getting back into your regular swing of things again. Just remember to take it easy, OK? Enjoy your time with family, and the heck with trying to stay OP for now! We can all get back to business after the holidays, right?

I've got a load of laundry going now, and plan to wrap some gifts after Curves. I have some free time this morning, just have to pick up the girls from school at lunchtime. I want to finish up decorating, too. I have a large collection of Santas that I need to find places for. DD and kids are supposed to come tomorrow to help bake Christmas cookies, and I bet little Carley will keep us busy staying away from the trees and all. I can't believe she'll be a year old in a few weeks. This past year just flew by!
I'd better get my sneakers on and get ready to go, I'll check in later.

Good morning ladies!

Schatzi- Your dinner sound delicious!

Ruth- I can't believe you are up and doing the things you are after surgery. I would have probably used that as an excuse to be lazy for some time. Good for you! (just don't hurt yourself)

Cottage- Wow! Working out this early in the morning! YOU GO GIRL!

As for me, I took my regular step class last night. Dinner was a rotissere(sp?) chicken from Sam's. I just love those. (Quick and cheap) We also had green beans and brown rice. DH made the sides so they would be ready when I got home from class. He had to mess with the rice and add spices to it. (Blech! Everything he spices is over spiced. I ate what I dipped on my plate like a good girl though.) He also made macaroni and cheese and wondered why I didn't get some. DUH! It's illegal. He just doesn't get this SBD way of eating. He still thinks he is on it, by the way.

Oh, well, I must finish getting ready. DS hasn't even turned yet.

See y'all later!

Good morning, Chickies~~

First off, I need to say "OLD HOUSES SUCK!" I got up at 5:00 and transferred chapters 12 and 13 over from the Alphasmart to Word and hit the "print" button. Got 6 pages printed and the circuit decided it was overloaded and BAM! There I sat in the dark! The power went out just as page 7 was being printed so I had to practically tear the printer apart to clear the jam. ARRGH! Finally, got it all fixed and have printed out all 28 pages of chapter 12. I'll finish 13 and 14 and just in the nick of time for tomorrow.

Tomorrow is our annual Georgia Romance Writers Christmas party. I have to leave here at 9:45 and trek across the city with mashed potatoes and my completed manuscript. Still trying to figure out how to keep the taters warm. I have a chafing dish, but don't know how they feel about sterno fuel. Keep your toes crossed that they pull my name for the $205 prize for the Finish The Book contest!

Foodwise, I'm doing pretty good. I had a cheese sandwich with Branston pickle (does that count as a veggie???) on ww bread for lunch yesterday and a roast beef sandwich with lettuce and tomato for dinner. (I discovered that despite a bulging freezer and a fridge that hurls stuff at you when you open the door, I HAVE NO FOOD!) Dh and I went to the store last night and bought milk, eggs and more ww bread and a can of vegetable soup for my lunch today. Tonight is our usual grocery night so I have to get busy and make a shopping list.

Schatzi, your chicken cordon bleu sounds yummy. I think I have all the ingredients, so I should try my hand at it.

Cottage and Dana, good for you two for the dedication to your exercise programs. I've been a slug lately and believe me, IT SHOWS!

Ruth, I loved your description of the snow! Very vivid! For about half a second they predicted some snow showers for us on the 7th, but they've changed their minds and now it's just rain and cold this weekend. Blah!

Well, I suppose I should mosey on out of here...Like Schatzi said "things to do, people to pester"

You all have a great day on the Beach!

Schatzarina - that sounds loverly! Christmas tunes and candles and crafts! What crafts are you making? Will you waft a little of the mulberry candle scent my way? I don't think I dare have candles around DS yet - not when he can reach/climb almost anywhere, and does so regularly!

Ruth - "sky duvet" - I love it! I had a friend some years back who wrote a poem about the "quilt of night" - your phrase reminded me of it. Take it easy and don't overdo it with all of your socializing today!

Cottage - one year old! What a nice age that is, too. DS is coming up on two now <shudders> - he's been practicing his tantrums lately!

Djett - sorry about the spices! Does he make them too hot, or just too heavily seasoned for your taste? DH loves hot food, but my tum can't (or won't) take it. Even DS can tolerate spicier food than me!

Mama - that is what my dad always called "character"! I like old houses, but sometimes I really, really long for a place that has more efficient heating, insulation, and fewer drafts! I hear you on the "no food" thing - that happens here all the time. The fridge will be full - of milk, hot sauces, and mustards!

Me - dozed longer than I should have yesterday afternoon (sooo tired....), so I've been up all night to make up for it. I finished The Tempest, read all the papers posted on it, and made the requisite comments contributing to the discussion. I've read one of the 3 essays I need to comment on for my other English class, and I spent something like an hour writing a discussion of it, only to lose it when I tried to post it and found I'd been bumped off the school's site! So, now I have to start all over and hope I can remember enough of it! This has happened to me before; you'd think I'd learn! After that's done, I have 2 more essays to do the same, plus one additional post on any essay we've read that I especially loved. Then I have to turn in my final essay, and that class is done. My Britlit class is done with except my final (Monday). I hope DS isn't too wild today - I have so much to do! Then on top of all this schoolwork, DS has developed yet another rash. The last one was a yeast infection, but this one is different. It looks like it could be an allergic reaction, but he hasn't had anything new at all. It could be from the apple juice, since it looks like it might be from something acidic, too. If it doesn't mostly clear up today, I'll take him to the walk-in tomorrow. If it gets worse (though DH said it was looking better when he changed him a few hours ago), I'll call his doc. I hope it clears up soon - it seems like he's spent most of the fall with a sore, red bottom, poor li'l guy!

Our classes are over with next week, so the following Monday (12/12) we'll go back on ph1 for a week or two. I prefer to start things at the beginning of the week for some reason.

We've had some wettish but more or less sticky snow here - DS was sooo excited when I picked him up last night from daycare. He'd never seen snow before! He was staring up into the sky, watching the flakes swirl down around him, just awestruck! Then he was just about impossible the rest of the night, he was so wound up!

Good Morning Ladies

I still can't get into the right forum, did everything that Suzanne told me to do,but it just not right.Oh Well!! I stuck & lost in the old one.

SCHATZI- I'm up, I heard you from upstairslol I always wanted to make chicken cordon bleau, but never got a good recipe for it. Isn't the smoked ham expensive???????? I love dollar stores also, but I last one is leaving our town due to retirement.

Ruth-your a busy one today, baking pies and all.Don't go overboard ,try to get some rest. Hows Lucy still chewing up the plastic.??

Cottage-Haven't given Christmas decorating a thought. I'm so far behind this year.Last year I was like Schatzi got everything done early, I'm not in the Christmas mode at all. I need to start writing my cards also. Good for you, happy to hear you started already.

djette-That great that your DH like to cook. DH & I love SPICY.I'm lucky that way also, some nights I just don't feel like to cooking at all,and than DH takes over. He as lost 13 lbs so far on low carbing , while I'm on a STALL for 1 month.on the South Beach. can't figure.

Mamamcita-Sometimes things happen like that. Computers are funny machine, sometimes I think they ahave a mind of their know.hehe!!! Have a great time at your Christmas Party.

Hi Heather Have a great day

Hugs BB

Whoops! Where did my post go? I posted right before H-ko and Beach bum! I probably forgot to hit the right button, (I hate when that happens!) Oh well!

Mamacita: I loved your suggestion about getting an insulated cooler for the car. That's just what I need! Yes! Greek yogurt! I love that stuff! Thanks for the suggestions! I'm so glad your tummy seems to be better. Keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow!

Djett: You are so lucky to have a DH who is willing to cook! Mine would starve to death if I wasn't around. Seriously, he can't even figure out how to open the refrigerator door!

H-ko: Thanks for your suggestions, too, regarding eating on the go. I just have to plan ahead. Hope your little one is OK. It does sound like he may be having a reaction to too much apple juice. Sometimes they get a little rash around their mouths from it, too.

Beach Bum: It's only by determination that my Christmas decorations are done. I still have a lot of shopping to do, cards to write, and presents to wrap! Busy, busy, busy! I hear you re losing weight. I have to constantly work hard at it, while the pounds just keep dropping off of DH, and he doesn't even follow the plan most of the time!

Well, I'm not getting anything done that I planned to do this morn, so I'd better get to it!

Both cats are climbing on me. I have already done an hour of shovelling. Kids are home, PA day, teachers interviews. I really want to go but the roads are BAD. Yesterday was quite peaceful. I got niggles done. Hubby is grumpy. sigh.
I have been drifting back to my sandwich for breaky, sandwich for lunch, sandwich for snack routine. I started better yesterday but had a mini frozen pizza for lunch topped with olives, arrtichoke and swiss cheese.Tomato sauce on WW pasta with fresh veg for supper and then a cookie. Not great at all.

Beachbum and H-ko- I think he overspices and makes it too hot. I am glad that he cooked, but it is a rare occasion. I think that he overspices b/c he is also a smoker. I tease him that he puts so much spice on things that he has no idea what things actually taste like!

Beach Bum- I have also been on a stall. That's yet another reason why I have kicked up my exercise (I think that watching the Biggest Loser has a lot to do with it too) If I believe the magic scale at the gym I have recently lost 3 pounds, but we will see. I won't count it until I see a loss on that scale.

We got the tree decorated last night. Now I just need time this weekend to get the yardart up when there is some daylight. Maybe Saturday afternoon. Tonight I am trying a Mahi Mahi recipe out of the new cookbook. I tried the Peanut Chicken recipe earlier this week and none of us liked the sauce. Oh, well, not everyone will like every recipe.
