  • I feel like a bum with no motivation. I have been doing the best I can on SB. Haven't had any white bread or pasta this week. Note: I said this week. But had a bowl of Fruit Loops this morning. Only exercised on monday morning....I know what it is. I am in a funk. Just a plain ole funk. I want to go back home now. I keep telling myself I need the money here, but then I say why should I go to work? I don't owe that company anything. I got shafted on a raise I earned, and not to mention the promotion I was the most qualified for. I suppose what pisses me off the most is the fact that I have almost 5 yrs invested in this company, and nothing to show for it. Esp this past year of me busting my hump. I know it will be better and I will be in a better mindset when I go back home. But like DS says when we talk about home, "We gotta get there Mama."
Thanks for letting me vent......prolly wont be the last time till I move, so ignore me or tell me to zip it if gets too much,

Saw Dr.A on Fox&Friends this morning. He looked a little chubby, . One of the anchors has been on SBD since she had her last baby, so she was excited he was there. He was promoting the new 30-min cookbook. Someone asked if it had a orange cover, it does. Looks like a yellow-orange though. But I thought to myself, why buy that book, when I have all the my Chicks, and their recipes for free!

Ruth-send me some of your energy,

Mamacita- sending : for a better tummy. (I noticed that white pasta has no taste, bleh. )

Schatzi-if I aint awake yet, all I have to do it look at your posts and I am.

2 bt mom-let me know if that bread works. Might ask for a bread maker for christmas.....

djett-you are lucky! My DS was about 2 when a friend's sister had a baby. We went to see her and the baby, and as soon as I had her in my arms, DS was looking at her like she was Enemy No.1. If he could talk, he would have said "MY MAMA, NOW BACK OFF!!!" He still gets like that if a kid at school talks to me or hugs on me.

KO-working on a couple novels myself. Just in a funk. Good luck with yours!
kyemom-we got our rain last nite. Now its all windy and chilly. I love it. Never was one for chilly weather, but somehow this year I am. Go figure.

Beach Bum-whine away, I just did,
  • Holly-what exactly what was the meeting about, and what happened? (I'm nosey, )

Tammy-join my 'funk' club. I have been feeling the same way since money became a problem......
  • Egads, where to start.... We have had a peaceful school initiative for 4 years but it is developing and growing and with a new principal people are balming her for changes that are not hers, lots of heated gossip and back stabbing...50 unhappy parents were invited to attend the meeting last night as a forum, 1 sent a letter.....
We are teaching conflict resolution to kids and staff and have invited parents to learn it too but they refuse.......
apparently gossiping and hurting children and the school community is better.....
    sigh
we are the 2nd school in Canada to do this and we are the first in Ontario, folks dont like change or a bunch of old hippies running things lOL!
  • What are the changes compared to what was before?
    What is conflict resolution?
  • Wenchy!!!! Huggin U !!!! we all get in little funks from time to time.. but your DS sounds like an old wise soul in a little boy body! I can definitely relate to where you are at.. It's kinda like Life is somewhat in Limbo until you get back to Savannah...but there is much to do in order to get there momma.. so make yer self a list of things that you need to tend to to make this move and get ready for school. That should help with the funkness..as far as that job... yer there for the paycheck dear to help with the move and school and things DS needs or deserves..and that's it.. disengage emotionally from it all..5 years aint that long and besides by jerking you around you made a wise life changing decision to go back to school and go back home where you feel your soul.NOW CHIN UP my Mooo-chaCHI..and git to GITERDONE!

The Schatzinator has spoken..all go in peace
  • Thanks Schatzi.
I have everything done but packing......lol
  • Good morning all!

Hey Ruthie! Adrianna's back in the saddle and has a suprise for you in her journal:

"P.S. For all the times I heard Ruth tell us about her stopping in at the “Long Horn” I never dreamed I’d actually find one in my city! Yep, last night after finding out that we weren’t going to see a movie after all BF and I sulked back to his Jeep and that’s when I saw it across the parking lot. We don’t usually go to this movie theater so that’s why I didn’t realize there was one there but there it was. I couldn’t believe it and just had to post and say that I have a “Long Horn” restaurant here as well. Maybe next time we’ll stop in for a bite there. I was thinking of you last night Ruth!"

    We're thinking of you Ruth!
  • Wenchy! WOW! U ARE READY!!! sooo when's the official move date?
  • It is a lot to describe but it is basically about cummincating instead of fighting, each person is accountable. The conflict resolution is a style of doing things that is different than how we normally react. It is cool. The kids and staff are okay .It would seem the parents have issues wiht effective communication and problem solving and peaceful ways.

    These are the trainers...

  • Good afternoon everyone....I think I missed everybody!! I was up this morning finishing my scrapbook for dad (his b-day is the 12 & I going to go see him this weekend!) And I was wrapping Xmas presents...thought I would take a car load down while I was visiting my dad....less to pack when Xmas rolls around! DBF's dad called us last night....he hates his new job. He couldn't find work in MI, so he went to Lake Charles, La. for work. Well the city isn't up running yet, still under Marshall Law & he's sleeping in a tent with 100 other guys & some of the guys' personal items are missing. He calls the place the compound...no electricity to charge his phone....it's awful! He was suppose to stay for 8 weeks, but he's going to work 3 weeks to pay us back - dbf & I paid for his plane ticket. I feel for him & hope he remains safe.
    Ruth - have fun shopping
    Schatzi - you tickle me!
    Wenchy - you'll be ok...it will pass!
BB - Know how you feel...pearshape & I did some liquid fasting a few weekends ago...it started to help & then....I gained it back. Pearshape has kept her's off & then some. It might work for you...worth a shot! Me - I'm with Schazti - I think it's my portions..too much food & not enough water!
I'm off to get ready for work....everyone have a great day!!
  • Schatzi......could you look in your crystal ball????
Cause all I know is sometime next month........
  • Hey chicks! Ok, so the big presentation was this morning. I think it went OK. Everyone said I did a good job and so did my partner. I choked a little on one of the papers...seemed the more I went over it the more confused I became...high sexual conflict, low sexual conflict....interpopulation copulation....it's all running together now. But it's all finished!!!!!!!!!!!! And I got my exam back, 89, which is higher than the graduate average of 81 so I'm happy about that. I have still have an A in the class so I'm OK with everything. All I have to do now is give my students an exam at 2:30 then I'm going home to cook and clean. I'm taking the rest of the day off
  • Kyemom: The new quick and easy cookbook is yellow. The original cookbook is orange.

Schatzi: I didn't know that they had coconut in the freezer section. the unsweetened stuff in the baking isle is so dry and scratchy but i bet if it's frozen it won't be like that. Thanks, I'll be stopping by the grocery to check on my way home.
  • Hi Chicks

Its me again, but this time MY HEAD IS ON STRAIGHTagain. I guess,it was may own fault pigging out on the junk food I was served at my DD's twins 5 th birthday party. So I guess its back to Phase 1 for a while. The beach is the healthies diet out there, and I should be happy to be on it.

Schatzi-Your right my portions have been getting sloppy lately. I have to go back to my eyeballing 1/2 plate with veggies,1/4 plate of protein and 1/4 plate grains.I started today measuring and weighing from the old WW plan.Going to try omitting the snacks and just have the 3 square meals, and see what happens. Thankscyperspace friend.

Wenchy-Thanks for letting me Whine,Can I join your funk club also.Didn't know another cookbook is coming out, where was I when it this happened. I LOVE 30 min. cooking, I'm watching Rachael Rays 30 min cooking on the food network. Forget, it If buy another cookbook I won't live to tell about it. I'm with you there are enough SB diet recipes here and all over the net.

Soon-Afraid of taking a liquid diet,9 out of 10 gain it back when adding food back. The only thing I did as far as wacky diets was the soup diet, which kept my weight down, for a time, but I think I safer just watching my portions.

THANKS CHICKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP

    Hugs BB
  • Hey lovely ladies, it's a of a day here at work. Boring, boring, boring. I interviewed for a job here a few weeks ago, and didn't get it, and today I found out about the person who got it. In my opinion, she is a lot less qualified that I am, but she has been working in the office of the president and i think that has something to do with it. It just kind of upsets me. I feel like I am going to be in this position that I dislike forever. This is a HUGE company and I feel like it should be easier to move around than it is. Just disappointed how much politics covers everything.

Schatzi, to make buttermilk, just pour milk into a measuring glass almost to the mark for as much buttermilk as you need. Then add white vinegar up to the line of what you need. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then throw it in the recipe! That's what my Momma always did. Easier than buying a carton of buttermilk you won't use all of.

Ruth, I want your life some days! Sounds so peaceful and nice, lots of friends and fun. Pet your girls for me and tell them Chester says hi (my cocker boy).

I really enjoy reading these posts. Nice to know other people are where you are! I've been feeling pretty good lately, needing to kick up the exercise some though! I did aerobics Monday night, a small amount of tae bo on Tuesday, and nothing but my regular running-after-seven-year olds last night. Tonight I will have some time, maybe a long walk or aerobics again.

    Love,
    Jessie
