) It'll really help you understand why you're doing what you're doing and keep you from the kind of mistakes that lead to people leaving the plan because they didn't really understand it and thought it was more restrictive than it is.
Penny, in case your question hasn't been answered (though with our fabulous members, it probably has...), you want to stick to serving sizes of foods like starches (bread/rice/pasta/potatoes, etc), fruits, and nuts (see many posts for servings sizes) and be aware of the 75 calorie limit on sweet treats (non-nutritive sweet items, like popsicles, j-ello, and hard candy). Otherwise, use your best judgement. You don't want to overdo your protein, and you want to limit your good fat usage (No more than 30% of your diet from fat each day is a good benchmark/rule. You can use
