Default Monday on The Beach - September 26

The Girls are up, pottied and fed and the kitchen is ready for Romano The Great to arrive before seven as he promised. It's pouring rain out there so we'll have to have our coffee indoors this morning - maybe in the parlour for a change. The back room is chilly and it really is too early for a fire in the woodstove - but soon! It also has the distinct ordour of wet dog!

I am going to take a bath in a minute as there will be no hot water while this demolition goes on. We have an oil-fired hot water heater which uses the chimney and I sure don't want the smoke and fumes in the house. I'm crossing my fingers that all goes well, i.e., R. gets into the chimney in the right place, finds the obstruction, fixes it, the guys come to put in the liner tomorrow and R. puts things back in order on Wednesday. However, I'm not placing any bets.

This will be a strange day! I plan to do some sewing and floor scraping upstairs while the big-rip-apart-the-wall-mess (BRATWM) happens. At least my PC won't be covered with a plastic drop sheet - just the kitchen. I must get the coffee maker set up in the back room as Doug is coming over this morning to programme my new universal remote.

Enough babble. I'll be back when the chaos starts!

Good Morning, Chicklets~~

I'm back from north Georgia. I didn't fall off the porch, but I did wander away from the Beach a bit. I wasn't in charge of the menu and our hostess's dh was the chef. It wasn't *too* bad, things like haystacks made with corn tortillas, cold noodles with sesame dressing, lentil soup, and ...dare I say it...chocolate chip muffins and cinnamon scones...

But, as Anne Shirley said "today is a fresh with no mistakes in it". So, back to the Beach I go!

Ruth, have fun with your BRATWM.

Kim, congrats on the 3# loss!

Okay, I've got to find something for my lunch and hit the road.

Hope everyone has a glorious day on the Beach!

The BRATWM isn't so bad! They are through the wall - Romano brought Don to help - and are now having a consultation about a stone in the chimney! Don has just swept the kitchen floor! I may keep him. He's not bad looking either - not that I notice stuff like that!

Wow, you ladies are up before the crows!!!
Yay Ottoette, Thanks for commenting in my journal!!
Schatzi~ I must say you are enjoyable!!
Mamacita,Wenchy, Ko...Mornin'

Party day is over.
Pretty special that my sweet 5 year old's only wish was to have a pink cake and her friends over. We do no gifts. She didn’t even notice. Last weekend she went for a pony ride at a neighbours.

My Mom was a knob. I must say I am loving the emotional distance I have from her. She demands soooo much attention. My extended family had all decided for me that my kids were too old for parties. SO I went ahead and planned the party and invited the grandparents for both sides. Mom thought it would just be the 4 grandparents here. She squawked about 4 times. I didn’t know it was a PARTY! Um, ya didn’t ask.
Anyhow, the kids were all outside but ti was too muggy and buggy for my Mom so she sat inside. The kids were too noisy too.Hello, they are 5.

Then she showed me pics of my kids form a sleepover and I asked for doubles. She told she didn’t get me any because my albums are a year behind, so why would she bother. HUH?
She interrupted my twice while was speaking to others to talk about her self.

I have realized how much I used to do to please her or meet “the family’s” expectations. It was not intentional on my part. I have always wanted them to like me. the joke is they dont really like me anyhow. So I have way stopped trying, just being true to myself and they really dont like it. I am sooooo much happier.

Frankly I am damned wonderful and if they cant see it, their loss.

My Mom has decided to host Thanksgiving. I usually do but declined. We had thought we would go away for a long weekend but cant afford it financially or energy wise. We are looking forward to just being home alone for 3 days.
I am itching to do some fall gardening.
Mom keeps saying but you will come for dinner ,right. Um, I said no. I am not wasting 4 hours of my time to feel bad about myself, my kids and my husband.
Besides I might use the wrong fork, LOL!

DS is off to school. I have 6 kids today. It is raining steadily. Gonna be a crafty day.

I am still reading SB diet.I am printed out some food list etc from the forum. Read in the forum for 2 hours last night.
I am sad about giving up crackers. But I do eat a whole box in one sitting.
I think I will aim for good choices today and then plan for tomorrow.
Most of my eating is okay. I need to let go of the comfort stuff around the fringes.
What I am doing is not working for me. That is the simple truth. I am fat and I need to get down to 199 for starters. 26 lbs.

Onward with my day!!

Monday, monday...da da da da... Mommas and the Poppas....

Raining here! It has been such a dry summer that the leaves aren't even going to be pretty this fall. They are just falling off dead. Too bad. I love the fall colors.

My weight is the same this morning so hopefully my little stray from my beach towel on Saturday didn't do too much damage. I managed to make it to Wallymart yesterday but not the grocery store - so I'm -piecing together a SBD today. I start with the new personal trainer this week. Hopefully that will jump start the weight loss.

Good morning ladies!

I have to do a quick in drop in. I had already started typing out and I got a call and absentmindedly closed the window. DUH!

I'm feeling really good after two workouts this weekend, playing with the kids at the park and going shopping for new bras. I even went to Old Navy looking for tops. I tried on a pair of pants and had to go get a smaller size! WoW! I like Old Navy's sizes. LOL

I am feeling renewed and ready to do well this week. I feel like I can make my goal of 150 by Thanksgiving. I have a renewed commitment to make it to the gym!

I hope everyone is doing fine today!

Default Mornin'!

Hey ladies! Nice to read so many posts already this AM, however, those of you "over there" are probably already having lunch. My dd just got off to school and I'm getting ready to write a paper for my Nursing Research class but I can't get motivated to do it..............I'd rather do mindless stuff right now. Had a horrendous weekend in the ER, I ended up going in an hour early yesterday morning for one of my co-workers who needed to get home a little earlier...........ugh, I don't do mornings. Anyhoo, it was so busy. Non-stop, no sit down, no snack, no nothing for 9 hours! Eeekkk. My feet are a little angry with me this morning.

Ruth, you sound like you're ready for the demolition...I say get a cup-o-tea to drink and sit back and watch the men at work!

Mama, I think your weekend sounds heavenly. I need to come to Georgia one of these first days to see my daughter, I sure miss having her nearby.

djett, sounds like I need to go to Old Navy, congrats on having to find a smaller size....don't ya hate that???????

anchor, a personal trainer sounds like a lot of work. My daughter has done that before and really got great results.

kyemom, congrats on the weight loss And good luck on the next job interview.

hollyhock, sounds like you've got your head together in spite of family issues. Gotta love 'em............... Keep reading the SB book, you'll find there are so many choices that you won't feel like your being stifled.

KO, I'm with you on the SF jello/pudding YAWWWNNNN! I've never tried the PB cookies, I don't have a lot of willpower so I hesitate to "get involved"

wendybritches, pilates sounds like a lot of fun, I need to check it out.

schatzi, you really should post a picture of your hair, you make it sound pretty interesting.

Ottoette, congrats on the weight loss for you too! I love happy endings! They always make me cry!

Well, I'm going to get this report done and then go for a run. I only went once last week and I'm feeling the NEED! I also need to clean out my garden, it froze here last night so I need to get the tomato carcasses cleaned out. I'm not ready for winter and snow and slick roads and cold feet...........sigh.

Have a great day everyone!

Chips! Chips! Chips! Not THAT kind but stone chips and brick chips. These guys are just wonderful - they keep cleaning up as they go along. Romano is NOT Italian/Polish but is Czech! Don, the helper, really likes working with him as he's honest and fair and a really hard worker. Looks like they'll be here the rest of the day - chip, chip, chip!

Doug spent two hours programming the universal remote. He retired from a major position at IBM and refuses to admit defeat over techie stuff! He can't get the volume to work so has taken the manual home to study! Too funny! Claire just called and thanked me for getting him out of her hair this morning!

I think I'll go to the Long Horn for lunch - a Caesar salad with a chicken breast. They now have whole wheat croutons as Eve, the chef's wife, is on WW CORE! They have ww tortillas and pitas now too! The revolution is happening in Delta!

Boy! I go away for 2 hours and bam! Everyone is up. Glad to see everyone is at least doing ok (except for Schatzi, poor girl )

Going to be around all day, , as the boss is out of town this week and I get be online all day. So no missing posts for me.

I have a funny for y'all. My DS is 4, and starting to spell. His spelling word is Walmart. But thats not the funny part....... he spells it W-a-l-*-M-a-r-t. He puts the 'star' in there..... And I can't tell him any different. Poor baby. I about fell over laughing the first time he did it. But hey, he's spelling. I hope to have him reading by school(kindergarten) next year. Wish me luck.

Kiere-doing it on my own. It's working out pretty good to. Paid for the DVD, got a mat at wallyworld, and that's it. Just have to make sure DS is asleep or napping when I do it....Otherwise he wants to 'help' me AND crawl all over me since I am on the floor.

Good for you Holly!!!! I am here to tell ya, you have to make yourself happy. To H*** with what your family thinks. You are doing what is best for you. Karma is B**** and will come back and get them in one way or another. I have seen it first hand. I have a friend in that same boat, but he doesnt have gusto to do what you did. He's a wimp. lol Hooray for you!!!

Ruth, I'd tie him up, throw him in the closet, and only let him out when I needed help.

Anchor-some is better than being totally not OP. Good luck with the trainer.

djett-I am inclinded to agree with RNMOM. Have to go check out that Old Navy. On the bra front, have decided to wait, till at least the first of year. Haven't hit a point yet where I want to buy new clothes. But I think I am going to ask for Gift Certificates for Christmas, and hit all those sales.

RNMOM-You have me starting to rethink my decision to work in trauma ER. You sound like you need a vacation. I am so not looking forward to doing research papers.
When I need to do something mindless, I go to yahoo and play some of the games. It always seems to help. Takes my mind off of other things for a while.

Really starting to feel the effects of that pilates, OY! But no pain, no gain, right chicks???

Here are links to the 2 DVD's I have started using. The Weight-Loss Pilates I am going to do everyday, and the other, I do 2 of the 15-min programs, every other day(they recommend a day of rest in btwn them)

Weight-Loss Pilates: http://www.anchorbayentertainment.co...819&PriCatID=2

Weight Training- http://www.anchorbayentertainment.co...581&PriCatID=2

I found one at WalMart and one at Sam's. Just can't rmbr where I found what one where.
