Default Combining Phase 1 foods in one meal

Can i combine phase 1 foods and make them into one dish? For example, sauteing garlic, onions and tomato. Then add, chayote or mung bean or mushrooms or shrimp? With water or broth. NO sugar is added.

Is this acceptable in Phase 1?

p.s. I'm on day 3.

Of course!...and you should be eating combinations of Phase I foods at every meal. Did I misunderstand the question? Do you have the book?

Yes, i have the book and have read it. Sorry, i was just confirming. Because i used to do the Core plan on WW, and on that plan, there are certain limitations to combining their core food. For example, if you combine all core ingredients and the result would be a cake (just as an example), then WW wouldn't consider that a "core" food.

I really want South Beach to work for me, so please forgive me for asking "stupid" questions.

Hey, the only "stupid" question is the one not asked!

I'd forgotten about that rule in CORE. Combine Phase I foods to your heart's content and a big WELCOME to the Beach.

Wow, suplada, that sounds very confusing! I love the simplicity of SBD...I have trouble remembering lots of rules!

I'm glad you asked...I doubt you are the only one wondering.

Check out the recipes in the Recipe Forum to get a better feel for how you can mix and match anything on the foods to enjoy list.
