Save me from this madness!
Can I please come over to someone's house and sit for just a minute????? :dizzy: Major lunatics on the loose in the ER today. I have been here for 10 hours and this is the first time I've sat down all day!!!!! No lunch, no breakfast, no bathroom, so what do I do????? I come here! :dizzy: Speaking of bathroom I'll be right back.......

Oh, geez, ((RN)) you poor thing! I hope you can catch a break soon.
Stories like yours make me glad to work in my insane little lab. :) |
Wow! I thought my house was a little too quiet, but that's a lot better than a holiday-weekend ER. I used to do that; I feel for you!
Heather, all the soups and stews sound sooo good. :hungry: It looks like we will have a bit of afternoon sun, so I'm wearing short sleeves under my sweater. I'm off to a BBQ to test my resolve. I have a new crochet project tucked into my bag with my water to keep my hands (and head) busy. Good thing the guys like to grill big slabs of meat. I'll be able to avoid the rest. Have a lovely evening, All! |

little chick - :grouphug: I can relate, sort of - DS will be starting daycare 2 days a week next week, and I'm both anticipating it and dreading it at the same time! I'll miss him so much, but I know it will be good for him and pave the way for preschool later, plus I need the time to get stuff around the house done as well as do schoolwork. But oh, HOW I'll miss his sunny little self all day!
RNMOM - and it's not even a full moon! Hope you get a break and a meal soon! mamacita - I made your Amazing Vegetable Soup yesterday (sans squash, as I didn't have any) - it was sooo good! Then for lunch today, DH and I reaheated bowls of it and stirred a spoon of pesto into it - wow! That was really yummy! Thanks again for the recipe! chickita - what are you crocheting? I'd love to learn, only I don't seem to know anyone who crochets! Everyone I know knits, which I enjoy, but I'd like to do both. Good luck at the bbq! Schatzi - enjoy your well-earned "we-wax-ation"! Took a nap earlier while DS had his nap - except our "naps" lasted 4 hours! Whew! I guess we must have needed it! But since we fell asleep around noon, we hadn't had lunch, so we were pretty hungry! Late lunch, so that means now we'll have a late dinner; <sigh> messed up sleep schedule, here we come! And since DS starts daycare on Thursday, I need to get back on schedule ASAP! I probably should have skipped lunch and gone straight on to dinner, but we were all hungry and I didn't want us snapping at each other's throats while I rushed to get dinner on adn then wolfing way too much food way too quickly. However, I skipped DS's usual post-lunch cookie and gave him the last sf/ff cheesecake pudding with CW Light - MUCH less sugar! Usually I let him have a wee sweet after lunch if he's eaten well - but only after lunch, so he has time to burn it off. The only exception is special occasions, like birthdays. Oy, I think I'm starting to ramble :blah: , so I'll hush now! |

I finally made it to the computer. On Friday, I talked to my manager and she is going to let me start working from home two days a week. We all agree that with gas so high it makes sense. I'm fully equiped at home and can work just as easily. So I start on Tuesday.
Yesterday I finally made it to Kwando and PowerFlex. It's been 4 weeks since I did both and 3 since I last did PowerFlex. I am a bit sore today but it sure felt good. I'm definitely going to have to get there more often! Today Brian and I spent our usual 3 hours at the animal shelter. We even got to feed baby squirrels with a syringe. Really cute! We're going back at 8 tomorrow morning. Since it's a holiday they will only have one employee working and will really need the volunteer help. They are going to make a video about the animal shelter and want to use Brian and I as their "mom and child who are adopting an animal". It sounds like fun. Our city is opening a shelter for the hurricane evacuees. It will only hold 200 people but then Dallas already has over 8,000 in its shelters. I'm not sure how many new students will be coming to Brian's school but everyone is doing what they can to help. |
