Hi Valerie,
I think the smell is what got to me the day before yesterday...It kind of stuck that craving in my nasal passages and from there it traveled to my brain...lol ;)
But things are back on track and I feel that the craving is really under control!!! I am happy you got to taste it once...as it is yummy!!! :D

Ahhh so lovely to have a confession thread.. my period has really triggered some cravings - and some eating :^: I thought that I had been so good that cravings were over... but I ate badly for a few days and feel all bloated because of it

But today back on track.. whew... feels good to get that out

Fast food is my Kryponite. I love McDonalds (the quarter pounder is my favorite), The Whopper is like God's gift to burgers if you ask me, and KFC's new "snackers?" Yeah, 5 or 6 will do it, please. Thank God there is no White Castle near by, I'd eat sliders until I burst. I also torture myself with the food network. Paula Deen made a bread pudding with frosted Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I was licking my screen by the time it was out of the oven!

ROFL....this was so cute it made me laugh!!! I turn off the food channel so fast now...lol I can't stand it anymore...lol

Schatzi 08-20-2005 09:12 AM

Wow, I read all the posts in the thread and not one craving.. ok I'm lying, a fleeting thought of a raspberry filled Krispy Kreme donut or 2..or 3..SATANS SNACK I SAY! My leetle transgression was last night..after unpacking we went out to a ice cream parlor, now I'm not real big on ice cream anyway, so I had a frozen lf yougart BUT I do love those honey soaked walnuts.. so I asked for just a tablespoon on my yougart.. I took a bite and said, "Oooh you have the best wet nuts!
I thought the teenage boy was gonna die... I didn't realize what I said til my husband near choked on his spoon! Well that little bit did help me over my craving..

Ruthxxx 08-20-2005 09:17 AM

Crap! I went down to the pub for dinner last night. I ordered fish and chips without the chips, cole slaw instead. Tracy brought chips too and I ate the damned things! I can blame it on Bob who came and sat with me - his fault! Healthy eating today.

H-ko 09-07-2005 07:35 PM

Okay, I haven't cheated...yet! I'm having terrible TOM cravings for chocolate. And not just ANY chocolate - I really want pain au chocolat something awful! I'm glad the nearest place I know to get it is in Pike Place, which is about 25 miles and (this time of day) about 1 1/2-2 hours away! Nothing will substitute for a fresh pain au chocolat from a French bakery, so I'll have to brave it out. If you live in my neck of the woods and know of a place closer to home which makes pain au chocolate - DON'T tell me, please! ;)

Louise1013 09-07-2005 10:28 PM

I cheated. I am on day 3 of P1 and I needed sugar soo bad that I just took the hersheys syrup and squirted into my mouth. It was just like a tsp. but still, that was a weak moment!

H-ko 09-07-2005 11:28 PM

Louise1013,

It's your decision of course, but if I were you, I'd start over on ph1. If you don't get properly detoxed during that strict 2 week period, the program won't work nearly so well for you. I know it's just a leeetle bit, but even a tiny bit can mess things up for you, especially so early on. Not trying to lecture or anything, just offering some friendly advice. The cravings are AWFUL for the first several days, and you WILL feel like crapola, but once you get through that, it's amazing how much better you will start to feel! Better than you have in ages, most likely.

Good luck on your diet!

Louise1013 09-08-2005 07:19 AM

I didn't think we were supposed to get comments about our posts. H-Ko I know you said you weren't trying to lecture, but I sure do feel like I got one

ellis 09-08-2005 07:30 AM

Louise, good reminder. I'm sure Heather just forgot... I'll leave your posts in as a reminder to others, and we'll all give each other a big supportive hug. :grouphug:
:D

And while I'm here, I may as well confess that I ate a large bag of chips yesterday. And suffered all night with my acid reflux. When will I ever learn!

Ruthxxx 09-08-2005 09:44 AM

Geez Louise, you took the words right outta my mouth!

Well, yesterday I went to Brockville and the Chinese Buffet which had gone bankrupt had reopened under new owners. Unfortunately, the food was excellent - so I'm told by my evil twin Ruthless! I am up 2.5 pounds today but refuse to change my ticker!

Ruthxxx 09-08-2005 09:46 AM

Ellis, Darling Girl, I'm a lot older and I've not learned yet. You'll just have to wait until I do!

kyemom 09-08-2005 09:57 AM

I too had Chinese yesterday..but the only bad thing was those wonderful little crispy noodles for soup!!!!! They were so good though.

H-ko 09-08-2005 03:18 PM

My apologies - I truly wasn't trying to lecture you, I really just wanted to help you. I guess I took the "no enablers" thing at the start too literally. Forget I said anything, please.

Heather, darling, we have SO forgotten. You're a sweetheart... we know you were only being supportive. :grouphug:

I just ate a bag of chocolate covered almonds.

want2wearbikini 09-08-2005 06:35 PM

ok-I'll admit it too. I slipped. About a week ago, I finally decided what I wanted for my birthday. They have this killer dessert at my fave restaurant. It's a giant eclair stuffed with the usual custard and filled with ice cream. Then, it's covered with chocolate and whip cream.
I can write this all with no worries of cheating again because after my 3-not kidding-bites, I broke out into this terrible sweat. All of a sudden, I felt TERRIBLE and literally starting sweating.
It must have been the sugar. Or menopause hit me all of a sudden. LOL
I will not do that to myself again!
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest! :)

Louise1013 09-08-2005 07:14 PM

You chicks are cracking me up! I think this is the best thread ever! I love to see that even the best of us have low points also. I don't read this and have cravings, I read it and laugh because I know its not just me!

H-ko 09-09-2005 09:56 AM

<sigh> Well, the TTOM hormones got to me! I had a sf ff chocolate fudge pudding with CW Lite for dessert last night, but it just wasn't enough to stave off the chocolate cravings. So I had another, also with CW Lite. I know I'm only supposed to have 1 a day tops, and I know I'm only allowed 2 tbsp of CW Lite a day max. I think that it was enough to get rid of my craving, at least, so I don't think I'll be cheating again - at least not for a month or so. And I don't crave chocolate EVERY month, just maybe half of them. So maybe next time will be easier.

Barb0522 09-09-2005 10:01 AM

Wednesday night on my way home from work, I stopped to pick up a few things and bought a Godiva Dark Chocolate bar. Definitely less sweet than the Hershey's Special Dark. Definitely OP (except that I ended up eating the entire bar which is probably 3 or 4 servings). Oh, well, there is a reason I don't like to keep chocolate around the house. Chocolate and portion control just don't go together in my vocabulary!

I can't pry myself away from that channel! I'm watching it now, in fact. :^: Paula Deen has caused me to stray OP more than once. Some of her recipes are just too good not to try! :D

fl_mom 09-09-2005 02:38 PM

I don't know where else to stick this little tidbit...

I am really craving some homemade mac & cheese, you know the baked kind that comes out all bubbly from the oven. I saw a stouffers commercial and omg! I don't have any elbow mac, thank God for small miracles. I am sure it will pass but

Oh yeah, and a regional brand of potato chips. I am from Cincinnati and they have hot BBQ chips called Grippo's. I am so glad I am in Florida right now or else I would have gone to the store and bought a few bags

Stupid Christian "sharing." Oreo/marshmellow/devil's food birthday cake, anyone? DROOL. It was good, too. Apparently it's not only Molly's birthday today but a teacher at school, too. Oink Oink. Moo. (but it was good.)

K BYE!
