Default Monday... Monday.... - Daily Thread

I can't believe the daily thread has not been started yet. I bet someone else is starting it right now. Lunch yesterday was not so good. Mexican here does not have the healthy choices that we can get in Texas. So I did my best and didn't worry about it. In any case, Brian and I made it through the entire Fit Deck yesterday morning which took an hour so at least we got some good exercise.

Last night I cooked Peking Chicken Pasta for the family. It is Brian's favorite meal since he can use chopsticks. It does have a little sugar in the Hoison and honey but I use lots of vegetables. My sis had never cooked with fresh ginger or asparagus before and hadn't thought about adding spinach like I did. The WW spaghetti we had with it was really good. Today she has final exams so Brian and I will check out a state park if the weather is good and head to the Children's Museum if it isn't. So far it is beautiful out there. Much nicer than Texas is in the morning.

Default Monday Beach Chat - August 8

It's another sunny and warm day. This has certainly been a summery summer!

The Girls and I had coffee on the deck and I've packed three more boxes of books for pick-up this morning. I need to go to Wally World for some hardware and hope to get that done this morning. I'll also do some laundry and hang it on the line to assuage my guilt about running the AC! I love the scent of line-dried sheets!

What are your plans for this gorgeous Monday?

Barb, we were both starting the thread at the same time. I was up at six but got into "stuff" before cranking us up. The Peking Chicken Pasta sounds great! I think I'm inspired for tonight's dinner!

Good morning Chicks~~

Just a quick fly-by. Was having such a nice nap this morning I didn't want to get up!

Hope you all have a great day on the Beach! I'm stuck under the umbrella today and not a bit of sun in sight. No hike yesterday, either. Rain, rain, go away!

Good Morning, Beach Chicks!

I was up early, too, and thought about you all - but didn't get to 'say' anything till now.... it's HUMID here and I'm running the blessed a/c on '[sleep' just to get some decent air.

My Aunt Mary is having her 90th birthday this Wednesday, and I just got off the phone after ordering a birthday bouquet for her... she's amazing - still enjoys her vodka gimlets, vollunteers at the hospice (sp?) thrift shop and is a good driver...her secret to longevity is keeping busy. I'll go card shopping later for her and a brand new baby boy who arrived August 2nd.

That chickken recipe sounds really tasty... thanks for the inspiration.

Hope y'all have a wonderful day on the Beach.

Howdy Chickies!

Just thought I would do a quick check in before bed - so tired .

Our new house is great... we are getting some good sleep (no noisy neighbours) and doing lots of exercise... which feels wonderful!!!!! I even managed to precook 3 meals for after lectures so that we have good choices easily available - hope this really positive attitude keeps up Amazing the change in a girl when you are getting some decent sleep!!

Hope that you are all having a great day.

Hi all.... I did not get to excersize over the weekend at all! I better work my butt off today to make up for it. I finally took the pound off from cheating and eating some of my ds birthday cake! No more cheating for me!! Today is day 6 of phase one. My ultimate goal is to go at least for 4 weeks to get a jump start on my weight problem. Well, lets all have a wonderful rest of the week basking in the sun!!

Good morning chickies! Starting ph1 AGAIN!!! I'm just gonna have to ignore my husband because I'm convinced he wants me to stay fat! Just when I think I'm doing good he decides that we should have a couple of beers or that he should make his famous nachos with cheese dip!! I have GOT to get WILLPOWER!. This morning I've had my two cups of coffee and I'm having a cup of lowfat vanilla yogurt. I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what will be for lunch! Well, have a great day on the beach gals!

Morning chickies!

Well, I am back on Phase 1.5 or so after a very, very wonderful weekend Found that Ben & Jerry's makes an Oatmeal Cookie Chunk ice cream and I love it! Bad news, considering I never cared for ice cream before...

Oh well, back to the drawing board!

Happy Monday

Goodmorning girls

I'm down a pound on WID, thank God. Probably a little more cuz I have some swelling around my ankles this morning...either way, I'm happy with the pound.

DS Andrew came home from Peru Last night and we had a nice time listening to his experiences and looking at souvenirs and hundreds of pictures he took while there. I'll try and get a few uploaded by tomorrow so I can share with you guys, too

DS also got on the scale this morning and was down FIVE pounds from his WID two weeks ago...I'm SO proud of him.

You girls have a great day on the beach

Where did the morning go???!!! It's thunderin and raining in good ole Jersey..Great day to get another room all spic and span before finally closing the door on NJ... Got the home inspection report...minor minor stuff... a leaky "diverter" in the bath shower... translation: It's that pull up thingamabob on the faucet that changes the bath.."diverting" the water to the shower head...
Fix the humidifier... and a cracked bathroom tile... BIG WHOOP. We'll handle the first 2, but we aint replacing no bathroom tile... "Duly noted" is about all they are gonna get on that one! Still waiting on the Radon results... We had hoped to be outta here by Sunday... but it may not be till Monday or Tuesday...
Barb - You are officially the Betty Crocker of this site.. That dish sounds ABCDElicious!!!!
Ruth- how is redecorating the room coming along?
Mamacita - hope this weekend you can get in that hike and use the new walking stick
Operahhhhhhhdoooooog: Your name makes me want to sing...Went to the Lincoln and the Met once each to an operrraaaaaaaaaaah.....lalalalala...
KO - yeah this weather can bring on those migraines and sinus headaches..hope DH is better..Where did you go camp??
Fatmom: YOU CAN DOOOO IT ! (Said ala Tony little style)
BB: Congrats ! 149 is fabu!
Tar: Sheesh Men! ignore him and his cheese
Val - Way to go!!! Cant wait to see the pics!
Good morning to all you other mahvaleous Chicabooms!
