Default Perfect SBD friendly cracker for me!

I have finally found a cracker that I won't eat the entire box in a couple days.

Kavli cripsbread Golden rye, it has 7 g of fiber per 2 slices,
Ingredients: whole rye flour, rye bran, rye flakes, water and salt.

Taste like it's healthy i.e. sort of like a piece of high fiber cardboard by its self, but when you use it as a base for other things, like hummus, ff refried beans or laughing cow cheese wedge it's pretty good, the cardboard flavor goes away and you get the crunchy texture to go with the creamy.

Thanks, Sarah! I'll have to try it as a base. We have some in our cabinet that have been there awhile since I just couldn't get past that cardboard taste.

You know it's good for you and high in fiber when it tastes like cardboard!

Speaking of Crackers...are the Kashi TLC crackers OK? The ingredients are: Unbleached Wheat Flour, Whole Oats, Hard Red WinterWheat, Rye, Long Grain Brown Rice, Triticale, Barley, Buckwheat, Sesame Seeds, Evaporated Cane Juice, Toasted Whole Wheat, Pressed Sunflower and/or Canola Oil, Rye Toasted Sesame Seeds, Wheat Bran, Whey, Honey, Natural Leavenings, Barley, Whole Oats, Stone Ground Whole Wheat, Malt Extract, Sea Salt, Yellow Corn Meal, Onion Powder, Horseradish Powder, Rice Flour & Natural Vitamin E....I know it seems like a ton of ingredients for a little cracker...but do the cane juice and honey & the corn meal make it a NO NO?
15 crackers have 130 calories, 3 g fat, 160 mg sodium, 2 g fiber, 3 g sugar 3 g protein

Unbleached wheat flour is the 1st bad ingredient. That's regular white flour not whole wheat. When looking at ingredient labels you need to see whole wheat, whole rye, whole oats etc.

Keep looking!

I eat triscuts.... But the south beach ones that have come out aren't so bad with some hummus or laughing cow cheese.

Keep reading the ingredient labels. Triscuits are good, the cheese ones have hydrogenated oils.

How many can you have? There is no set limit on most foods. It's just the nut and nut butters, avacodoes and high fat things. You have to figure out for your self how many you can eat a day before you stop losing weight or even start to gain weight. A serving is 7 crackers according to the box.

I try not to overdo the triscuts, so I usually limit it to five and that is normally enough because the hummus is filling. Try the garden herb, they are great!
