Question meat portions

ok i was told something about 3 oz of meat ( am assuming this is per meal) and not for the entire day. however, i can say with 100& certainty i have not been measuring 3 oz per meat with my meals. i will have for instance a small piece of lean meat or toss some grilled chicken into a salad....i don't count how much i am eating though.
tonight i am making a recipe for a taco bake i got off the forum here and i know i can't measure that out either.
i guess my question is..as long as i am losing and not completely overdoing my meat intake, all should be fine right? i am getting my veggies in there as well....give or take what i should be getting by a little either way.
i just feel like i am not doing this right since i am able to eat and i am rarely left feeling hungry or tend to get hungry between meals and snacks.

The 3oz is usually considered a serving..If you are not measuring, visualize 3 Oz as a deck of cards or that which would fit in your palm ( a WW trick ) ..I think the taco bake provides 4 servings.. so if you take the amount of grd beef and divide by 4 , that should give you an estimate of the amt of beef per serving...
1) When you do SB it seems to be that for some of us, we are no longer hungry. The one danger is consuming too little calories..which some say stalls your metabolism...One way that I was able to ensure I reach between 1200-1600 cals a day was by eating higher cal items like beef... That being said, I am a major Beef eater anyway... But if you are concerned about fat and cholesterol, you might want to try other items to increase your calorie intake to the minimum recommended for healthy weight loss...

as far as the beef is concerned, like you, we are big beef eaters in my house. i just wanted to make sure i wasn't overdoing the meat intake, but i don't think i am really in harm's way there....as i said, i am not eating huge amounts when i even do since i started sb. thanks for your help and info!!

have a great weekend

Drool! Stop it Schatzi! The Fairgrounds is just down the street, the wind is from that way and I can smell beef barbecue!

MMMMMMM...steak. Having steak for dinner...YUM. Let me add a question here - if I've eaten vegetarian through the day is it acceptable to have a larger portion of meat at dinner? I usually stick with a small portion of meat on normal nights...but I love my steak!

Val, Luv, I am a major HERE ME ROAR meat eater .. and I am "Jeff to your Mutt", I'm 5'0 if i suck it in and stand tall... Large Frame... I regularly eat no less than 6 oz of tbone, porterhouse, cube, or london broil... I always have either a large salad, small (PH2) sweet potato, or mashed califlower with it... I do eat veggie only some nights, Chix too.. but eat meat on average 3-4 times a week....I watch my calories, because meat is denser then stuff like chix or seafood..... I think I balance out ...
When's the BBQ? I'll bring the veggies
P.S. I will have low salt ham or turkey in very small quantities for lunch too..On my Veggie .chix dinners.. I may have salami with some LLC for lunch with some celery and other veggie....so... I have had times when I have had "cold cuts" for lunch as well as some beef for dinner...

Too late Shatzi!! It's already happy in my tummy

The kids are all gone this weekend so we treated ourselves to porterhouse...oh my goodness! I just made a big salad with tons of veggies and we were in heaven. I wanted a cheesecake cup for dessert but I don't think I have room! DBF had his full 12 oz steak and was still eyeballing the half that I saved for lunch tomorrow Yup, Mr. 6' 5" 180 lbs man is definitely a carnivour.
