Wink I'm new, started Monday and loving it!!!

OMG, this is the BEST site!!! So excited to start this beach diet!!! I want to lose about 15 lbs. not toooo awful, but I seem to have put on a few lbs. over winter, yikes!!! Thank-You all for such wonderful recipes, the chicken/spinach is DIVINE!!!! I haven't even tried any of the desserts, because I'm having a hard time even doing snacks and what not. I really have always stayed away from bread, it was those delish flour tortillas and lard filled beans that I ate for lunch everyday, oh and wine at night that I have cut out. Not much of a breakfast person, but I'm trying to get something in me in the morning. O.K. just wanted to say HELLO and thanks for such great support.

Hey Carroll,

Welcome to the Beach! In Phase 2 I make my own Flour Tortillas with some WW Flour, Water, and a bit of Olive Oil. They are excellent for Quesadillas as they crisp wonderfully! Have you tried Taco Bake? For breakfast, try to get in some protein. Breakfast Cheesecake is the easiest way for me to down cottage cheese.

Read the book, and defintely Check out the FAQ.

Thanks you guys!!! I feel so welcome here already!!!

Yes, I LOVE protein...that's not a problem, it's just the breakfast thing. I MUST get a blender so I can make some of these yummy shakes!!! I wonder which one is the best??? I like thick/creamy shakers!!!!

Welcome, Carroll! Have you read the book? This is such a healthy lifestyle that I'm sure you'll want to continue it long after you lose the 15 pounds! You'll find since you have so little to lose that it will come off slowly. This is normal and good...it makes it less likely for you to gain it back. If you like Mexican food, try the Taco Bake...it's in the recipe forum and is delicious!

On Phase 2, you can have WW tortillas, which should be easy to find in SoCal. Just make sure that the ones you buy have whole wheat flour and NO enriched flour in the ingredient lists. I think La Tortilla Factory makes a good one.

Welcome!

Hi AdiaFaith!! Oh those sound wonderful, could you post the recipe?? Taco Bake is ON my list to make here soon, I won't do the mushrooms though, I am sooo picky

Got the book at Costco and since I've read: The Zone, Adkins, and many others, this was a snap!!!!

Thanks beachgal!!! Yes, read the book as stated above and I've read so many others that this was a snap!!! It will be easy to stick to since I don't eat pasta, bread or potatos anyway!!! YUCK!!!

It's the wine/alcohol and tortillas that I like!!! Oh and during "that time" an occasional sweet pang!!!!

Hi Carroll and I'd also like to welcome you to the beach and this forum. I'm new here, too, and I've already found that this is a wonderful bunch of gals offering their support. Like you, I have less than 20 pounds to lose. I know this diet works - I lost a ton of weight last year, going from around a size 22 down to a 12.

Hi janswizard, WOW that is awesome!!!! Great for you, woohooo!!!! I'm still going strong and doing well, I don't have a scale so I'm totally monitoring by my clothes, I'd say that I've already lost a 2 lbs. YEAHHHHH
