Beautiful day is cranking up in Deltaland. We can have coffee outside on the deck if you like.
Please excuse the messy dog yard. Sarah cut out some small trees yesterday morning and The Girls have pulled most of the branches out of the pile! Well that's better than eating the tulips which was their last year's project! They really are too funny!
Today Jane comes and I go for a haircut in town. I will NOT have Chinese food. I guess I'll have a chicken breast and salad at Swiss Chalet unless I think of something better when I'm in town. Hmmm - I could take my lunch and go to eat in the park down by the river.
Now, where is Sarah with the Sammi Report? I'm glad to hear that Britanny will be OK. Strange situation.
good morning Ruthxxx.. i just finished some lemon dessert for breakfast..and am sipping my coffee w/o sugar its funny what you can teach yourself to get used to!!
good for you for avoiding the chinese food! you can do it
Its a beautiful morning ..which is why I am avoiding getting ready for work...
hope you have a wonderful day!!!
Mornin Chickadees!
I'll be right over Ruth after the kids leave! Sounds like good entertainment out on the deck this mornin. Sounds like you have a nice relaxing day planned. Lunch by the water sounds nice.
angelshine90....Maybe you could just skip work today! lol Have a good one!
Me...Nuttin planned today. My knee is a lil sore from yesterday's outting so I'll take it easy today. It's back up in the 80's here again. Well I'm off to get me some vittles! lol Y'all have a great day now ya hear!
Ruth, I wish I could join you on your deck for coffee this morning! I'll just have to wait til the weekend before I can do anything like that.
Angel, lemon dessert? oh that sounds good.... got a recipe to share? or is that in the recipe section?
I'm getting ready to go to work... should be a relatively decent day. Both my attorneys will be out of the office today attending a hearing in Lumberton - about 2 1/2 hours away - and I am leaving at 3:30 because my son's band awards banquet is tonight. I'm hoping to get caught up today.
I can't believe school is out next week. I'm glad, though. This carting my daughter to and from school because we recently moved out of district has gotten really old. Then again, next year will be an interesting one. My son will be a senior and my daughter will be starting middle school. ACK! who gave them permission to grow up so fast!
Every time I think that, though, my thoughts instantly go to John, my oldest, my first, my Marine. I'm just so proud of him.
Do any of you ladies scrapbook? That is my big hobby. I'm behind on my scrapping and now I have to get Adam's senior book going. John's senior book is my favorite one that I"ve done by far.
Good morning everybody .
Ruth~~It sounds like the girls do more garden work than Sarah does
Chels~ Welcome to our little bit of the beach. You're doing great so far
Bamie~Take it easy today and keep that leg proped up, girl
Phins~~Great to hear that Tiffany will be alright
Me~I plan to empty more bags of topsoil into my planter area and finish amending another area that I started this week.(if it doesn't rain today ) Otherwise it will be housework
Morning ladies!
I must say, coffee on a lovely deck sounds much better than sitting behind my desk all day fixing laptops. Mind if I join you girls? I started phase I today! I'm hitting the gym tonight with my mom and hopefully, we keep up a good schedule.
What I really need to train myself to do is drink a lot of water. I am not used to drinking something "without a taste." But, since I am not a fan of Crystal Light I am happy enough with my water bottle. Actually, do any of you girls have a tip for sugar/caffeine withdrawal? I know it sounds odd, but I am coming off a large amount of Coke/Pepsi/Mountain Dew addiction here (since I am a major geek/nerd/dork video and computer game addict as well, it kind of comes with the territory!) I get caffeine headaches if I don't drink a lot. I can't taks Aspirin but I can take anything else if that's a good solution. Is there a way to weather the storm incoming that anyone knows of?
Anyway, have a great morning everyone!
MarineTubamom! good morning! yes the breakfast I had is in the Breakfast phase 1 idea..under dessert for breakfast..and mmmm its soooo good..it really tastes like you are cheating!
In Case anyone missed my last post yesterday: Tiffany is going to be fine.
I spoke with the high school principal at the gym last night and he said he had talked to Tiffany's dad, and that she wasn't in any danger, she didn't have any broken bones. She's going to be back in school probably on the very last day!
I'm so relieved. My oldest DD said that she heard a ton of different stories yesterday at school! So who knows which one to believe! The principal didn't even know exactly what happened. He seemed to think that she got crushed between two cars and not ran over. Don't you love how stories get soooo screwed up!
Thanks to all your prayers and thoughts!!! I'm sure they helped them alot! Y'all are a great support system!! I'm lucky to have met you all!
Ruth...I used to think that chinese food was healthy !!! LOL
Geez, was I mislead! I don't think there's really anything there that's safe for me to eat!!! it's easier to find something OP at the mexican place!
I wish we lived closer to you, I'd love to visit your greenhouse. I love to stand in the middle of a greenhouse and just breath deep...I love that earthy smell!
angelshine....I can't believe the changes in my tastes!!
bamie....almost swimming weather!!! I just love it when it's warm outside.
marine...I know exactly how you feel! My oldest is graduating in one week, and my youngest two (twins) are going to be in high school next year!!!!
I'll have 3 kids in high school, and one in college! I can't be getting that old!!!! I am so grateful that I don't have to take anyone to school!! My DH's office is in the high school, so he just takes them with him to work, and brings them home with him.
2BFit....have fun digging in the dirt...that's what I think I'm gonna head out to do!
Gryff...Welcome to the BEACH!! I'm sorry, I didn't have any headaches from the switch, but I didn't drink a lot of sodas to begin with, just tea...maybe switch to tea so you get a little caffiene. Since I started SB I have mostly drank water, I start my day with coffee and from then on it's water all day! I'm sure that someone on here can relate tho!
Again it's great to have you here!!
My middle DD volunteered me to make belgian waffles for their honor society breakfast!!!! So now I'm having to smell that all morning...my tummy is growling...I'd better go fix me something good for breakfast!
I think it's gonna be a breakfast burrito morning!!
talk to y'all later!!
hope you all have a great day!
Ruth, it is BEAUTIFUL out there! I'm going to spend the morning putting in some of my new annuals. I bought a shipload of them yesterday.
And sphagnum moss to line my wrought iron baskets. Do you know how hard it is to find that stuff? People don't know what it is!!
Angel, what a great idea... having the lemon dessert for breakfast!!
Bamie, you be careful with that knee, hear me? It seems to me you're doing far too much when you should be lying around and being waited on hand-and-foot.
Soon2b, have a great day at work! I hope the customers are all nice ones!
Aileen, have a good time tonight!
I've always wanted to scrapbook, but have never got around to it. It looks like such a "pretty" thing to do.
Sil, have fun in the garden! I'll be thinking of you while I'm out in mine.
Gryffgirl, good luck today!! You can do this, girl!! As for the caffeine... I can only suggest that you reduce your intake gradually. Coffee is one thing I refuse to give up. I have two or three cups in the morning. Heck, we've got to have SOME vices!!
Phinsup, thanks for letting us know about Tiffany. Thank God she's alright... I was thinking about her all day yesterday.
I've got to get coffee... I'm behind schedule here!
Have a great day, everyone... love and hugs to all...
Ruth -- thanks for getting the idea of Chinese food in my head!
I am down 2 pounds, thanks to the "in the hospital and still feeling yucky" diet.
So while it's not, real, I will take it. Drank lots of water yesterday too.
Will do that today as well.
Enjoy all your nice weather ladies - it's going to rain for a week here! Or else it better, my knee better not be hurting for nothing!
I am just checking in...busy as usual. I was out of the office teaching workshops for the last two days so I am trying to catch up! Another Pound down, so that make 30!
Morning Ladies...thought I'd check in during my planning "hour." After stewing all day after being told I wasn't getting enough veggies, (because my salads are huge and my snacks are often veggies) I did make up some scrambled eggs with tomatoes, asparagus, green peppers, and LF cheese. That and some can. bacon, yum yum. Afternoon weight was 251, am was 251.6. What a switch--usu. afternoon is a couple of lbs. higher. (Yes, I'm addicted to the scale.) Anyway, should be an easy day since most of my behavior/emotionally disabled kids (read: bad) have decided to take an early vacation. And that's okay with me!! Gotta couple of meetings planned, and decided to take exercising off to get party stuff for ds's b-day party next week---and just got a phone call that I have to do homebound instruction on one of my "sweeties" who's at home for the rest of the year. Was talking to one of my co-workers yesterday (she's a fitness fanatic) and was mentioned how tired I've been feeling, especially with walking. Usually I can go 2/2.5 miles easy pushing the stroller; on Tuesday I could barely make 2. Then I sat at home and rested for two hours. She reminded me that the body is a machine. When you change the fuel, and change the use--you're gonnna get some feedback, gonna hear some creaks and groans as it gets used to the new stuff. So there's something to think on.....
Ruth--resist chinese! picnic by the lake by yourself, sounds wonderful!
Phin---glad to hear about Tiffany. Rumors do fly, don't they?
Gryff--try not to take anything for the headaches--then you'll become dependent on Ibuprofin or whatever. Push the water as much as you can. It's hard to get started, but now I drink about 90 oz of H2O and 20+ of Crystal Light. You can do it.
Any news on Sarah's DD?
Everyone else--have a beautiful day and stay OP!!!
Oh--here's a proud of me moment--DS was going ballistic for popcorn (climbed the pantry shelves for it!) so I made it. He sat on my lap and ate it and I didn't eat even one ...yay, go me.
How is everyone? Glad to hear that Brittany & Tiffany are going to be ok.
Ruth - Lunch by the river in the park sounds perfect. My brother has taught himself to hate restaurant food. He will NOT go to a restaurant unless on vacation. My DF says he just hates to let those nickels stray too far from his wallet. I'm the exact opposite.
Bami - Take it easy, when you go to the mall get one of those scooter carts. Your daughter would just die.
Marine - I'm a scrapbooker/card maker/jewelry maker. I have five albums of DS done. I'm behind too. I haven't really had the time. In my new house (someday) I'm going to have a studio where all my craft stuff will be spread out and no one touches it or cleans it up.
Gryff - You may want to wean down slowly. That is one nasty headache. Good luck and welcome to the beach.
Ellis - Sounds like you had a great time yesterday. Happy planting!
Phins - Belgium waffles - yum! One of my all time favorites. Do you have a low carb store around you? I believe I've seen a recipe or a mix for low carb belgium waffles. Maybe that with a little sf syrup at the end of your shift would hold you over?
Everyone else - Hi!
I'm real happy with the results of the leek fest. I'm feeling very trim and I felt like I totally pigged out yesterday and I stuck to P1 - day 1 menu. I even skipped my afternoon snack and had to make myself eat dinner. I wrote it on the calendar so if I'm feeling up to it I can do it again next month. And I feel totally focused - which I haven't felt since before New Years. I'm very happy there is an Art Festival downtown on Saturday and I'm going - even if I go by myself. I'm sticking to the no drinkies too. This is usually the weekend I go out with friends so I'm not making any plans except to plant my tomatoes and go to the art show.
