Got this in a Denise Austin "Morning Stretch" Good info! (and very similar to what we are doing on SBD...coincidence? I think not! ) I must admit that I'm a total scale ho, so I weigh in every day...but I do it for the same reason she mentions...it keeps me on track, and I try very hard not to let it get me down if it's not the number I want to see.

Today's Tip:
Nobody wants to work hard to lose excess weight just to gain it all back! But that's the experience faced by about two out of three dieters! To help, experts at the CDC studied the habits of people who not only lost weight successfully, but kept it off for good. Here are five things they say successful weight losers have in common:
1. They exercise: Losing weight and keeping it off isn't just about what or how much you eat, it's also about how much you move. So be sure to make exercise a part of your life!
2. They reduce calories and pick healthier foods: Sure, you can lose weight eating nothing but grapefruit, but this isn't healthy or a diet you can sustain. Instead, replace fatty foods with healthy, low-calorie choices!
3. They eat five times a day: Yes, that's right! Successful weight losers eat three meals and two snacks a day! Doing so keeps your metabolism running strong and prevents hunger pangs!
4. They monitor their food intake: While you don't have to monitor every bite, checking in on your choices from time to time will help keep you on track long after you've reached your goal weight!
5. They weigh in: Successful weight losers keep their weight in check by stepping on the scale periodically, but not more than once a week. Doing so helps them take steps to prevent weight regain as soon as it begins — not 20 pounds later!
Should be the Center for Disease Control. Not sure why they are involved in this particular project (is fat a disease? ), but that's the only gov't agency I know of that has those initials.
When I first read this, I thought it might be the registry that Meg is a part of, but I'm not sure of the name of that.
