I challenge YOU!

... ellis.. or whoever needs a kick in the rear. Since I'm not fully ready to go back to Phase 1, there has to be a start to Phase 1..

So here it is!! I challege you all (ellis, you listening ;) ) to drink at LEAST 3 L's of water a day.. or in American, 96 oz.

How about the idea of having a new challege every week? This week will be water.. next week? Maybe adding some exercise? There are so many options! But it seems clear I'm not the only one who needs the kick in the rear.. :drill: Let's Go :)

-Aimee

Reg4242 05-04-2005 07:16 AM

GUZZLING, GUZZLING, GUZZLING.

Off to the bathroom we go.

ellis 05-04-2005 07:21 AM

Aimee, you sweetheart, you! Thank you... this is a wonderful idea!! :grouphug:
I'm in!!!

So far:
- 250ml
- 500ml
- 375ml
- 375ml
-
...

Ruthxxx 05-04-2005 07:23 AM

Jeez! 500ml in there already. (We had ham last night and I'm trying to undo the salt damage - although the scale didn't blip this morning. Hey, maybe I'm really down 3 pounds! NOT. )

tar675 05-04-2005 07:48 AM

I'm with ya!! Guzzle,guzzle,guzzle!!!

2BFIT1 05-04-2005 07:56 AM

Count me in, too. Last night I was just thinking about how bad my water consumption has been. Maybe this will be the kick in the butt that I need. Thanks Aimee!!!!

Sassygal 05-04-2005 08:33 AM

I made it though 96oz yesterday (drank a 16 oz bottle six times over!!), so I don't see why I can't do it today!!

Of course, I had to make a trip to the other side of the building about 5 or 6 times... too bad that doesn't count as exercise! Why oh why do I have to be so far away from the restrooms???? :jig:

ellis 05-04-2005 12:05 PM

I'm going to sticky this for the week.
Aimee, if you're kind another to give us another challenge next week, I'll do the same then!
Thanks again, hon!

soon2Bfab 05-04-2005 12:05 PM

Ohhh, I have a 5 hour drive later....I'm not going to join today....hehe. Maybe next week!

beachgal 05-04-2005 12:09 PM

Soon, just drink more when you are done with the drive, okay? :D

Aimee, what a GREAT idea!!! I find it appropriate that "Swimgirl" is leading us to the water. ;)

Ruth, I think we're both down at least 5 pounds. ;)

1000ml done here...and thirsty for more, but I'm a water snob and have to wait to refill at home....

Thanks for this!!!

Ruthxxx 05-04-2005 12:48 PM

I'm past the halfway mark at 1700ml.

SwimGirl 05-04-2005 01:16 PM

Awww... I'm so glad you all love the idea :) I telling my friend about my blog, and suddenly remembered my only entry included drinking 3 L's of water a day in hopes of getting my body to work properly and hoping it would kick up my metabolism. A great start when you aren't ready to go all the way. I'm going to go get some water..

-Aimee

ellis 05-04-2005 01:21 PM

I am friggin' FLOATING!! My back teeth are swimming.

Ruthxxx 05-04-2005 03:51 PM

Um, Ellis....go pee. You don't have to hold it in, you know. I was out in the back garden digging dandelions for an hour and had to come in twice!

MarineTubaMom 05-04-2005 04:12 PM

Wow... I have missed this place so much... I'm glad that you posted this as a sticky!

Count me in! I've been off program since Christmas and have gained some of my weight back. I just went grocery shopping today and am ready to get my butt in gear first thing in the morning. Count me in!

Sassygal 05-04-2005 04:36 PM

I'm pretty sure I've hit 96oz today. I have a huge 64oz blue jug that I drink out of all day long. I've filled it full twice (of course, you have to take out some for the volume of ice) and I've made it through another half mug. Surely that all adds up to 96oz or more!!

Ruthxxx 05-04-2005 04:59 PM

I made it!

beachgal 05-04-2005 05:43 PM

Aileen, it's great to have you back! :grouphug:

Wow...it's so nice to have so many successes in one day!

I'm at 1750, and I'm saving some for my exercise class. Think I'll get there by the end of tonight...

Have a great evening, Beachies!

PHinsUP! 05-05-2005 08:41 AM

Hey, I'm game!!
I missed this challenge yesterday....but I did drink about 96 oz of water!
today, I'll shoot for more than that!!
We bought a new filter for our Brita...so I'm ready to guzzle!
:coffee:
gonna have a cup of coffee this morning tho
Drink on Chicks!

ellis 05-05-2005 08:45 AM

Good morning, gals!
Congratulations on your successes yesterday. :cheer:
Let's have another great day!! :hat:

May 5th
- 375ml
- 375ml
- 375ml

I'm here, Laurie. I just woke up. :D :ebike: OH MY GOSH!!! We got new smilies!!! :woo: :wl: :tantrum:

beachgal 05-05-2005 09:23 AM

Okay, I came in at 2850 ml yesterday ( I like the ml more than the oz, sounds like more! ;) )

I'm at 350ml so far today...and I already have to go to the bathroom!

beachgal 05-05-2005 12:18 PM

Okay, about 1100ml now...

Where is everyone? :?:

PHinsUP! 05-05-2005 12:29 PM

I just polished of 1 ltr...that's 1000ml for me so far!

freakshow 05-05-2005 12:37 PM

I recently heard that drinking too much water is bad for you...

It was on the news.

PHinsUP! 05-05-2005 12:42 PM

I read something about that on the internet yesterday...but it was talking about marathon runners

SwimGirl 05-05-2005 12:58 PM

It's like coffee, one day its bad, the next day its good. Your body needs water to work properly.. My skin looks better, my body feels better when I'm getting enough water. I've had 800ml before work, and am taking 1.5 L's with me to work.

-Aimee

Stardusterika204 05-05-2005 01:18 PM

Count me in. I am already at about 70 oz, and its only 1:17 pm here. So i will definitely surpass the 96 oz no problem. Of course during my final (in less than an hour) i will have to leave like 5 times for the bathroom...they might think im trying to cheat or something.
Good idea with this swimgirl.

ellis 05-05-2005 01:39 PM

:lol3: Yes. We're not quite in that class yet.

PHinsUP! 05-05-2005 01:56 PM

ellis
That was exactly my point!!!!! :lol3:
you won't see my big tail running in any marathons!!!!! :D

Sassygal 05-05-2005 02:05 PM

Let's see here...

2 - 12oz glasses at lunch = 24oz
1 - large blue jug (minus ice volume) = 46oz

I'm getting there... with the remaining 3 hours of work and then my workout tonight, I should get all that water in... I love healthy competition!!

beach bum 05-05-2005 02:40 PM

Count me in too!! I'm up to 48 oz aiming for 80 oz[1/2 my weight]

I usually don't drink any more as I have def coffee, tea and crystal lite that count for water.

Hugs :) BB

Reg4242 05-05-2005 08:33 PM

Been to busy, guzzling and going to the bathroom to post.

Keep up the good work guys.

MarineTubaMom 05-05-2005 08:47 PM

I'm at 104 for the day, but working on another 24 oz cup... then i'll be done for the evening... :)

PHinsUP! 05-05-2005 09:36 PM

I've had 2500 liters + a couple of glasses of unsweet iced tea with dinner.
I don't know if I'll finish off my liter before bed or not!

OMG!!!! Are you serious or was this a typo? There are 240ml in 8 ounces, and 1000ml in one liter, and you drank 2500 liters?

Ruthxxx 05-06-2005 07:03 AM

Stupid metric system! It was a typo. I think she means ML. I sure hope so or there will be our first case of water intoxication!

PHinsUP! 05-06-2005 09:31 AM

yup it was a typo!! LMAO!!!!
2500ml

2BFIT1 05-06-2005 10:38 AM

Friday~~~
2 cups coffee
475ml (16 oz) water
600ml (20 oz) :smug:

ellis 05-06-2005 10:45 AM

Friday, May 6th:

- 375ml
-

beachgal 05-06-2005 03:48 PM

Okay...I think I'm at about 1250 at this point, and not liters. ;) I knew Phins like water, but not that much!

You all know that other beverages, like Crystal Light, tea, and coffee don't count for your water intake, right? Your body has to process them, so they don't do what plain ole' water does for you. A little lime or lemon in your water won't cause a problem, though. :)
