Hi all,
We have 3 cats: Jack & Diane are 3 year old sibling himalayan babies. We adopted them from a shelter. Diane (Littlebit) is my baby and she is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. She loves feet though, I go barefoot all the time and when I sit down she lays over them and cleans my feet! I gave up trying to make her stop. Jack is my DH's and he gets a bit rowdy with the other two but loves to snuggle and get his belly rubbed. Now the third one is my son's and she is Patches a 15 lb calico. HUGE!!!! maybe she needs the SBD  When we adopted the himmy babies, Patches hated them. Hissed and growled all the time. It took her 2 years to accept Jack, but she tolerates Littlebit. |
Wow Tammy! 15 lbs :)
JoJo is about 13 or so, so I shouldn't talk :) Going to Petsmart this weekend (as well as today) to look at kitties :) |
Christy, so glad to hear Maxx is doing well! :D Head scritches to him from me!
Tammy, your furkids sound darling! 15 pounds is nothing...my friend has a 27 pound Maine Coone that loves chicken fingers. ;) Yay for adopting kitties, Jenn! Can you take JoJo with you to see how she reacts to the kitties? :chin: Oh you make me miss having a cat, ladies! DH is allergic, so usually I try to love up my friends' cats when I can. |

I just realized I have a picture of Brian with our cat, Allie, at Pet Day this week. She was very calm and curious while on a harness in front of all the second grade kids.
|
Barb, that's just a delightful picture! They both shine! Brian looks so proud and happy, not to mention cute!

the new member to our family is...

Little Aimee (since we have a JoJo and I like 2 letter per syllable names, I've begun called her MeMe).
JoJo doesn't like her all that much but at the same time it seems she doesn't want to be mean to her either. MeMe's been in the bedroom and we opened the door today and so far so good. MeMe got too close once and Jo jumped off the couch and hissed at her, which scared us all. JoJo's been grunting and kissing but not loud. She seemes scared of the little one! Mama's fraidy cat! |
My Cairns Casey and Darby
1 Attachment(s)
Hi All, These are our two fur babies. Casey is on the left and Darby on the right.
Casey is 1.5 yrs old and Darby is 2. They are the light of our life! Casey is a broad. She's the clown who thinks she is the size of a great dane. Darby is a princess, hates to go out in the rain. Darby loves to play fetch with cat balls (NOT LITERALLY LOL) just small toys..where as Casey couldn't be bothered and would rather play tug. Darby loves to lick fabric for some reason, and Casey, well we call her Missy Lick-a-lot. She loves to give everyone mucho kisses! |
Wow, love the pictures of everyone's pets!
Brian and Allie are both adorable, Barb! He does look supremely happy. :D Aimee is darling, Jenn! I bet JoJo will come around, in time. Schatzi, Casey and Darby have such personalities...how fun! :D |
I can't remember if I posted Hershey and Lucy pictures.
All the little pets are adorable! On a sad note, my mouse died today.............. :( but I went to the store and for $21.95 I got a new one ....an Acrox optical mouse! Gotcha! |
Now, Ruth, that's not very fair! :lol3: I was thinking that maybe you had kept one of the mice from your car! ;)
No, there have not been any Hershey and Lucy pics and I, for one, am dying to see them!!! Please do not dissapoint the drooling members of the H&L fan club! ;) |
Here's Hershey! My Lucy pics need to be resized. I must do that someday and put them on a proper website.
|
Oh, my! Hershey is a love and such a beauty, too! I just want to give her a big hug!
Can't wait to see pics of Lucy one day! :D I hate resizing pics... Thanks SO much for sharing, Ruth! :grouphug: |

Ruth, Hershey is so adorable with her pink tongue and little white chest. She looks so soft and fluffy.
|
OH MY, all these animals pics are toooo cute!
All my pics were too big to download, and I couldnt get them smaller with the programs I had... but I found a freeware program called Easy Thumbnails at www.fookes.com - and it was easy to convert the pics to thumbnails to post... Hope this helps someone! |
update on dd's puppy
If she doesn't stop jumping and clawing and biting she will be an outdoor dog! Cleaning pee and poop is okay the other stuff isn't. DH thought he new best so Ariel isn't created but she is limited to the kitchen. It was the only place we could put a gate up.
Lydia |
Mama, you might want to try obedience classes. Puppies are really difficult...yet another argument for getting an older shelter dog. ;)
I'm sure Ruth has some good tips for getting your puppy to mind...in the meantime, cut those toenails! Ouch! :yikes: |
Update on my Kasey~
Kasey, who has bladder cancer, is doing well as far as eating and energy. But she has been incontinent at night (wets wherever she is sleeping) so she is now sporting Pampers at night. I don't know if there is anything that will help this incontinence but I plan on asking my vet about it on Friday, when little Shelby goes in for her dental cleaning.
|
Oh, Sil, I'm so glad she's doing well other than the incontinence. It must be hard for her to lose that control...hope the vet has some ideas for how to help. :) Has Kasey's "Brave Doggie Blanket" come yet? :D
|
Yes, Laurie, the blanket came and both dogs love it!! I tried to take a pic of Kasey on it just now but the battery/flash just went out. It's a poor pic but it gives you an idea of what the blanket looks like. It has the head at one end and the tail and feet at the other end.

Oh, what a sweet picture!!! Kasey looks so comfy on her blanket!
My friends who have rabbits fighting cancer often get them a blanket that is embroidered with "Brave Bunny". I think Kasey's blanket is definitely possessed by a very brave puppy. :grouphug: |

Love the pics of the pets!
Sil - Kasey is a brave one, and so are you! Hang in there. Huggs your way! Puppy training - didn't do it, should have! She's better now that she's one. I'l still going to take her to training in the fall though. Hope it works! She needs to not run outside when I open the front door and also not jump on people. She's little, so it's not too bad, but still annoying. Oh and Maxx was 18 lbs! He lost some weight because we put him on diet food, but when he got sick he was only 12 lbs!!! I haven't weighed him lately to see how much he's gained since we've got him on canned food now! He's mostly just a big cat, not really fat at all. |
Christy, I'm so glad that Maxx is doing so well :cp:
|
Sil, how's your darling doing? :grouphug:
Boy, all that heat sure made it hard to keep the furkids cool and hydrated. I'm glad it seems to have subsided! Any fun new pet stories? I keep watching mine for cuteness, but other than the usual, I don't have much to report. I hope when things calm down for Ruth, she can share a pic of the Girls in their pool! :D |
Princess is driving my DBF crazy... she has gotten into the chewing phase a little late in puppyhood - just started getting bad about two weeks ago. The funny thing is that she has already lost most of her baby teeth and her adult teeth are mostly in, so I don't know why the sudden chewing fascination!
Anyway, she has chewed a place in the front door at the bottom. Chewed two different places on an area rug in the dining room that his mom had given us to use. Chewed the backing off a small slice rug in the living that was in front of the fireplace and pulled the stitching through the back. And just this morning she chewed the carpet in the living room away from the baseboard - this one really has DBF upset! I'm going shopping tonight to find a rug to put over that place (luckily it's in front of a door, so a rug will look ok there). I guess for the time being we'll have to keep her out of the living room when we're not home until this phase passes.... and might have to restrict her to the kitchen when we are away from home if it continues... Poor girl... |
Laurie, Kasey is doing well. She is sporting those diapers at bedtime and she is not happy about it either.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...ia/Pets010.jpg She is starting to look old, though... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...ia/Pets009.jpg Shelby has taken over the Doggie Blanket... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...ia/Pets008.jpg |
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
|
Oh, Kasey looks adorable even with a diaper! What a doll she is! And her blanket is beautiful too. What a brave puppy she is. :grouphug:
The look on Shelby's face is precious. She seems to be saying, "This blanket is MINE...back away slowly!" I love how little animals have that Napolean complex...the smaller the animal, the bigger the attitude! ;) |
Darwin
My "baby" is Darwin, a westie/random terrier mix we found through petfinder.org. He's completely spoiled, and we've only had him since April.
http://www.autumnpeople.org/albums/D...insunshine.jpg http://www.autumnpeople.org/albums/Darwin/0002_G.jpg There's a complete Darwin photo album here. Sarah |
Welcome, Andy! :) Darwin is adorable! What a photogenic little fellow! We found our Lady through petfinder.org too. That website is addictive...don't go if you aren't planning on adding to your family, because you will not be able to resist!
|
Thanks Laurie!!
Sarah/Andy~~Darwin is way too cute!!!!!! I love the $5 pic! He will bring you so much love and joy through the years. |
Hope you'll forgive my not reading through 8 pages of this thread to look for something on the subject of fleas. We have a small dog, dauchsand/terrier mix whom we have had since Christmas. When my MIL found him, he was covered in fleas and almost dead, he had also been abused but was still a very young puppy. He has always had fleas and I can't find a way to get rid of them. I have tried everything, even the expensive options like frontline and advantage. I know it's uncomfortable for our dog as well as ME! I have scars on my ankles from hundreds of flea bites (they like getting under socks to bite). I hadn't been bit in a while until last night and the dog has still never stopped scratching and biting. Right now I can't do anything since he has Frontline on him but I am looking for options for when that wears off.
Thanks |
Fl mom~First thing, where did you get your avatars? I liked the heart with your "pounds lost".
I wish I had an answer for your flea problem but the Frontline Plus has always worked for my dogs. Have you been to a vet about this and what does he suggest? Have you sprayed your yard to help get rid of fleas that might be brought into the house? |

The vet told me to use the frontline plus, this is the second month I have put it on him. We just moved so the fleas were getting pretty bad outside at the other place but not here. I think I may need to bomb the house as preventative for eggs and just do another month of the frontline. The vet really couldn't give me any other options except try another brand (advantage) which I already did. I know I am tired of being bit so it makes me feel even worse that the dog is constantly biting himself. I added a pic of our Bubba (he had that name before we got him LOL) & one of 2Bfit1's shelby that I played with. Hope shelby is a girl LOL |
Oh my gosh, that is too cute!! Thank you so much! I saved it in my folder.
Bubba looks like a real sweetie!! Not to bore everybody, but I just walked by the livingroom and saw this~Kasey (who has cancer) has finally discovered her Doggie Blanket that I bought for her. I can't believe that Queen Shelby is sharing it with her. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...ia/Pets011.jpg |
Fl Mom~Could I ask a big favor?? Would you mind doing the same thing for my Kasey that you did for Shelby, using her pic from above (she's the one on the left)???? I would love to have that for future memories.TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
