Smoothie Question?

  • I enjoy a smoothie daily, but Im not sure how to count it. Should it part of your meal, your meal or a snack? Can I have more than 1 a day if I leave out the almonds and ricotta..

I usually add 1 cup low fat milk, 2 tbs low fat ricotta, 1 scoop of protein powder(Soy), Sugar free flavorings, 8-10 almonds and ice.

Monday I go to Phase 2 and then I can add some fruit.

Thanks for your help, (I know I will get it in time.)
  • I would consider that a meal. Check out the calories by running it through www.fitday.com.
  • When I have smoothies I use them for a snack. The smoothies I have are fruit with yogurt and your allowed both on Phase 2. Hugs BB
  • I use my smoothies as breakfast, but I assume they could be a snack if they stay around 200 calories. The almonds, however, could be a problem. You can only have 15 a day (and then no more nuts or peanut butter), so you definitely can't have 2 smoothies with 8-10 almonds in them.

I really wouldn't have more than one a day...you need more veggies, and unless you are thinking of adding them to your smoothie ( ), you might want to have something different at your other meals and snacks.
