Oh Oh Oh, I want one of those umbrellas!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Good morning everyone. It has been a very busy morning here, in spite of the server problems. It's good to see everyone posting.
Sarah - My mouth was drooling reading your eating plans. I really must get my act together and start to make some of the nummy recipes. It seems, though, that we get home from work, throw something on the stove, woof it down and head to bed. We have a chewer for a dog, too. Every stuffed animal she has is destroyed in short order. I think she got three or four stuffed toys, and a few squeeky toys for Christmas last year - by noon, the stuffing was out and the plastic toys destroyed. However, I bought her a squeeky newspaper toy a few weeks ago that even has the squeeker in it. She takes it to her fur rug (by a heat register) and plays with it. One of our kids thinks it looks like she's reading the paper... Louise - Welcome to SBD. You will enjoy it here. Sorry to hear about the voice, althought the kids will probably enjoy the day. ellis - Have fun with the yard work. We are still a bit cold and frozen to be getting much done yet. Take care of yourself. 2BFit - I know what you mean about the allergies. Mine flare up at this time of the year also, especially cleaning up the yard. Take care of them. Sunnybunny - You are such a super friend. I was reading your post and thinking about the terrific things you were saying about your co-worker. If all of us were friends like that what a different world this would be. Thanks for the reminder. Rayneysmom - Glad that you are back posting with us. Take care of those allergies. Talk soon. lc - Congrats on the new windows. Bet they look really nice. What kind did you get? soon2bfab - Glad that you are feeling better. Take care of your teeth...you don't realize how important they are until they are missing. Ruth - Glad that you are getting to the end of the flood cleanup. You will need to get the wet cardboard out before it starts to smell. We went through the same with my mom's house one year (she was vacationing, so I ended up with the cleanup). The disaster recovery people told me to bag the wet cardboard and get it out cause it starts to stink. Hopefully, you will be able to do that before it gets too bad. mrscharleston - I had forgotten about the pageant and it has come up soooo quickly. Wishing you the best and hoping that you are the winner. Good luck, you have worked so hard. Laurie - Sorry to hear about the meds. I hope that they can find a suitable replacement for them without too much trouble. :grouphug: Take care. adaja - Welcome to the beach. You have already done an amazing job with your weight. Keep up the great work and you will be in those summer clothes in no time. Barb - Hope the workout went well. Sounds like the additions will take you to a new level of fitness. Keep it up, girl. Me - Well, I have been my usual clumsy self. Last Wednesday I was walking down the street with my boss and the heal of my shoe caught in a hole in the sidwalk. Down I went in a full face plant - skinned knee, skinned hand, wripped pantyhose, the whole shebang. BUT, that was only a dry run for Wednesday this week. I was doing my usual workout at the track... As I was walking, I stepped off the track to pass a couple of stragglers walking there. Since they are doing maintenance on the ice arena this week, and the track goes around the arena, there is a little melting off the ice. Yep, stepped in a patch of water and went down flat on my back, bumping my head on the cement floor. The girls that I was passing called our emergency number at the college here ( ), so the fun started. Two security officers responded, followed by the head of our health unit, then another nurse c/w wheel chair, then two more security officers and a cop. They packaged my up and sent me to the hospital with 2 of the security officers and the cop. Normally, they send people in a cab accompanied by someone to keep watch over them. At the hospital, the cop (who happened to be touring our facilities) decided that he was in charge of me - making me sit in the chair and talking to all the emergency staff. The looks I got from the people waiting in the waiting room said it all - she's a criminal... Meanwhile, back at the work place, all my staff knew that I had gone for a workout and didn't return. Then they got a call to have the blood cleaned up at the arena... Since my boss was away yesterday, nobody was told anything, but could just conjure up their own stories. You can imagine the rumours that got started. Moral to this story: Exercise IS Dangerous. I have 11 stitches and a concussion to prove it. I am now worried that the head injury may affect the surgery that I have booked in 2 weeks. Hopefully, they will still go ahead, but the dr. at the hospital wasn't sure. I guess I will need to wait to see if there are any other problems. Hope everyone else is doing OK. Take care....and be careful when you exercise. |
OMGosh Sweet tooth!! wow, thats quite a few stitches there girl! You rest up and take care of yourself, so sorry this happened... :( Hope you feel better!
|
Oh my gosh, Sweet Tooth!!!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your mishap :( but you made me LOL with the "she's a criminal" comment. Take care of your head ! BTW, what surgery are you having in 2 weeks? I must have missed it while I was AWOL.
|
Sweet Tooth: Ouch! So sorry about your spills. Glad you are going to be okay and I hope you can have your surgery on time. Be careful :^:
Just a quick fly by. Hello everyone. I did manage to get all the posts read just not enough time to respond to all. Some spring, some rain, we are included in the rain today and allergies. :rain: (that's my version of a new umbrella for today) I have to work today, pre-bowl, get cat food, do fingernails, buy snails for the fish tank--so busy day. :dizzy: Cannot wait for Sunday to come so I can get away for a few days. Did really well following plan yesterday even though we ate dinner out. I had the Belgian Waffle this morning and it is yummy. I think I can eat that anytime, now I will have try the french toast too. I don't normally care for ricotta (I like the flavor just not the texture) but it gave it a real waffle feel. Everybody have a good day, hope you get your voices back, your medicine squared away, your cardboard moved, enjoy looking through your new windows, enjoy the peonies, and the dogs, in fact, give your special pet a big hug in memory of Ruth's neighbor's cat. |
Good Lord Sweet Tooth, you sound like Terri Hatcher on Desperate Housewives!!! LOL
Be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 |
Ahah! Now everyone is wide awake.
Ruth - Good to know it wasn't just me on the server. Thought my browser might have been the problem. I started using Firefox as a main browser 2 weeks ago, and though I love it, I'm still feeling it out. So sad about the cat! :( I'm just glad you walked over. Animals certainly hold a special place in my heart...I'm sure you could tell if you walked into my office and saw the 24x36" HONK IF YOU LOVE ANIMALS sign on my bathroom door. Oh and as for Dump Chicken...at least it's not Chicken in a Hefty Bag or Garbage Plates (An invention of Rochester, NY that actually tastes good) Sil - Feel better chick! My Shelby is actually a mix of German Shepherd and Spaniel. We were calling her a Spainard for a while, but now the vet thinks she has setter in her too, so we just call her trouble! I wanted a little dog, as I'm accustomed to Dachshunds, but DF is accustomed to St Bernards. Shelby was a good compromise, and a great find from the shelter! Pic is below....right by the window, she almost looks angelic... :s: http://www.grizzlymtc.com/sarah/shel.jpg SunnyBunny - I actually run an internet consignment shop. My mother and I started it together and now we have 3 shops throughout New York State. We sell items for other people out of our stores on the internet, locally, and through eBay and other online auction sources. Great fun. Most of my consignors are 65+ and since I don't have any grandparents, I learn a ton everyday. I see something new everyday. Glad to see you had time to pop in! Oh, and I love new stuff too. I got a silverware organizer yesterday and cleaned the entire kitchen just so I could put it in and have it look right. I'm with ya! Rayneysmom - CLARITON! :) Little Chick - The last two windows right? Must feel good to have it done! Soon2B - I'll remember you in the mornings. ;) Mrs C - MUCH LUCK TO YOU! TwiceBlessed - As for donuts, I totally understand. Bry works his AM job at Dunkin Donuts and it can be difficult. As long as there is a counter between us I'm ok, but every now and then the guys will put a donut hole or two in the bag for Shelby.....OH THE SMELL....only on some days though. Most of the time I just don't want to think about what that little donut hole would look like on my butt. Just think about that old Nutrigrain Bar commercial! Those who don't read the book cannot talk to me about the diet. PERIOD. BeachGal - Wasn't it just GORGEOUS yesterday? The skies are looking a bit threatening today and I don't know that I can close early today...the phone is ringing off the hook and well, I've been trying to write this post since 9:30 this morning! :) That's so SAD about the dog. Shelby goes without a lease on occassion, but she never strays. Yes, I hold the key to my dogs brain and stomach....Turkey Pepperoni! :T adaja - WELCOME! Barb - You've gotta be having quite the butt after those squats! Just wait, your sons friends will start digging ya soon! Can we change the tune of Stacy's Mom to Brian's Mom.....I think it might work! Sweet Tooth - It was delish! :) Shelby has a "rug" of her own too. Right in front of my store's front door. She's sitting on it in the picture above. If she's sleeping she won't even move for customers coming in the door. Good thing most of my clients are dog-lovers! OH MY GOSH about the injuries! That, I believe, ought to be an entire episode of Seinfeld. Maybe you should pitch it to NBC! |
Adia, it was gorgeous yesterday. :sunny:  You're right about the rain threatening, but it's still so warm and I am in ecstasy not needing a coat!!! :dancer:
Peggy, I am worried about you! :grouphug: I'm so sorry that all this is happening, and I hope your surgery can go on as planned! :crossed: You take gentle care of yourself, okay? |

Hey chicks. I am going to show you some pics of my windows from the front porch there is nothing in there right know and I am trying to decide if I should put my plants back in the front window. I am thinking about putting my rocking chair out there so I can sit and people/bird watch.
The first picture is the before picture. The little girl is my youngest dd's best buddie. The side window has a crank, so I can open it and let the fresh air in. |
adia how did you get such a big picture in???
|
Julie, if aspertame is upsetting your stomach, I'd definitely cut it out. It used to upset mine until I got used to it. DON'T GET USED TO IT!!
I'm glad you "jumped in" and joined us! OMG, Peggy!! :yikes: I'm so sorry, sweetie!! :grouphug: Oh, I do hope you heal up quickly, and that your surgery doesn't have to be put off. :( Keep us posted, hon. (great description by the way. :lol3: ) Bunna, snails for the fish tank? Should I have some in my tank, I wonder... ? Sarah, Shelby is lovely! I'll bet she could eat Sil's little Shelby. :lol3: Sorry, Sil... BTW, anyone who wants the damned cabana boy can have him. He forgot to wake me up from my nap this afternoon, and I was almost late picking up DS from school. Laurie, I hope you get your meds straightened out soon, hon. :grouphug: Lacrosse! What a fun game to play. Did you know that's our national sport? ;) |
Little Chick.....ummmm, I just resize my pics most of the time and stick them in using the image button in advanced posting.......not sure how you got Thumbnails!
Ellis - Actually, Shelby hangs out with my parents dachshund, Zoe. Every now and then Shelby will walk into the room all by herself and licking her chops. "Where's Zoe?!?!" is always the first question. Sil - don't worry, Shelby's a lover, not an eater! Laurie - RAIN! Crud. Hope you brought a coat, just went to pay the cable bill and got soaked. Those meds can be a mess. My dad was taking bextra, which they just took off the market today. |
Sweeth Tooth - that is QUITE the story. You sound like me... lol, exercise is always "exciting" for me. Good that you are alright though. I always try to think about how it makes a great story.. gotta be positive, right?
Aspartame is evil.. I'm totally agreeing with ellis that if it bothers you, don't have it. When I was younger it would give me a headache, but I kept on trying to have it. Now my throat swells up and I get a headache, and if I drink too much, I get a nasty bladder infection. I know my body is super sensitive to stuff like that.. but it just doesn't seem right. Alright, how's that for a little rant? I keep trying to keep up with you ladies, but when I see posts at 4am my time, I just don't think I could! I'm definitely not an early riser anymore. And soon I might not ever have to get up before 7am! I am interviewing for a job WAY closer to home today, it's just a part time job, but thats all I need for now.. to make some kind of income while I decide what to go back to school for. Yay! I was up most of the night feeling completely sick.. so today I am really struggling to get on plan. I had fat free, sugar free, artificial sweetner free yogurt, and just had steamed broccoli for lunch. Something light, because I'm nervous about this interview. Well, here's hoping I can keep up with you gals :) Have a great day! -Aimee |
Aimee
Don't worry about keeping up! I'm just all by myself here in the AM for four hours before we open and I like to talk..... :) GOOD LUCK ON THE INTERVIEW |
Ellis, Lacrosse? I thought it was hockey? :chin: Darned cabana boys... ;) I think Ruth needs to threaten them with bookend action again. ;)
Adia, sorry I forgot to mention what a gorgeous dog Shelby is! What great paws and such a sweet face! I love shelter dogs! :) LC, the windows are gorgeous! Personally, I love plants, and they love windows, so I say move 'em back in! :goodvibes: Swim, good luck with the interview, and I'm sorry for the upset stomach! Eat some protein when you get back, okay? Yogurt has protein, but it's actually a carb, so you need something more substantial. :grouphug: |
