Post What does he mean by processed starches?

I am kind of confused by "processed starch" and sugar?

What would you guys classify as a "processed starch"? And I thought we were not supposed to eat sugar at all...

Mt. Vernon, IL: I have such a hard time going from Phase 1 to Phase 2 (adding carbs). I just can't control processed carbs. How can I get beyond this?

Dr. Arthur Agatston: It is never necessary to add back processed carbs such as starces and sugars. Begin Phase 2 with one whole fruit or one whole grain or cereal at a time so you can moniter your response. By going slowly and making good choices you should do fine. If you do return to processed carbs then cravings and weight will return.

Processed is anything that is not whole grain and natural I believe. Processed carbs are white sugar, white flour, pre-packaged foods, etc.

We are not to eat sugar at all. That's what he meant. White flour is a processed starch as is cornstarch.

Thanks guys, I was so confused by that. I don't know why, but it hit me as confusing!
