Arrow Need basic menu ideas for Phase I . Help!

Hi - I'm sort of new to SBD. I am currently a grad student and have absolutely no time to cook elaborate meals. Does anyone have any basic menus for Phase I that require little to no preparation? I don't mind eating the same thing over and over again! Thanks for your help

I'm less than a week on, but noticed that certain "fast food" places sell salads that you could probably use minus their salad dressing. Wendy's, Jack-in-the-Box, and even Mac's. I made my first large tuna salad today. Not much work in that. Good luck!

Buy some pre-packaged cooked lean meat and canned tuna. How about cottage cheese, lofat cheese (check out Laughing Cow French Onion) and some nuts. Also, how about some pre-packaged salad and some snow peas.

Also get some snacks - low fat plain or vanilla yogurt, low fat cheese sticks or slices, nuts, tomatoes, carrot and celery sticks, and hard boiled eggs.

Also, check out the recipe section in the FAQ. Good luck!

I too work long hours and don't have much time to prepare. I find it helpful to keep a bagged salad around with pre-cut ham and turkey pieces and shredded cheese. I use a low sugar & low carb dressing. I have one of these "packages" at home and at work. This makes it easy to make a great salad with very little prep time! I am also just starting and know what it's like to need more recipes. Good luck!

I thought carrots were not allowed on Phase 1?

Yup, carrots are not allowed on phase one. But other things like cucumber, sweet peppers etc are ok.

I love to cook so it is tricky for me to help with this, but when I cant be bothered on the cooking front I usually open a tin of precooked lentils, and mix with something like cheese, or chicken or some tinned mackrel. Sage goes well if you have some fresh. Lime juice is a great dressing for it, but maybe that is getting more elaborate in terms of ingredients.
