  • Hello everyone. Starting off today's thread here. I have had an easy sort of a morning. Read the paper in bed (luxury) and then got up, did some washing, took the car round the park (I dont have a dog).

I made those veggie quiche cups, inspired by who was it? 2befit? was it you? and they were ok, and I had eight last night and four for breakfast this morning. That is not the idea is it?

I despair of ever losing any more weight.....

Sitting here today with vanilla red tea - I dont have celestial seasonings but a brand called dragonfly which is in waitrose, for any uk chicks out there. Fab it is too.

This assignment I have been blathering about is getting to be soooooo over due. Today I am going to try and actually write something.

  • Nice that you took your car out this morning, Clovey. Shhh! Try not to notice how eccentric she is, chickies. It's a Brit thing. Now, get started on that assignment. Getting started is the hardest part for me. I think you may have overdone it on the quiche cups.

Big vet day yesterday - and big bill! - as both Girls had tests. The vet is pretty sure Hersh's problem is hypothyroidism but we will wait for the lab results next week. I cancelled her out of her "job" and the PR stints at The Mall as I don't want her "on show" when she has a bald ring around her eye. It's bad publicity for a little known breed. Miss Lucy was swabbed and tested on the spot but is NOT in heat. We either missed it (don't know how!) or she is late.

The window guy came yesterday to give me estimates. What a cutie! Unfortuinately his name is Kelvin! I'm trying not to hold that against him! The estimate was less than I thought and included replacing the powder room window so I will definitely go ahead. Another estimator comes this morning, a woman named Tracy, not Kevin. I'm sure I won't fall in lust with her but you never know. :lol2: I have one more estimate to come and will make sure my head makes the decision. Oh yeah - The Girls really liked Kelvin! Does that have to be factored in?

Today is "Jane" day. I think I will go up to Perth for lunch and do some shopping. It's a lovely town and a bit touristique but just fine this time of year. I also need to check out the Canadian Tire for yet another pedometer! The one I have does NOT reset so back it goes! I am having lousy luck with pedometers! The only one I ever had that lasted was the one Ellis set for me and Lucy chomped that one!

We will have an early supper of turkey chili and salad tonight as I have a Parish Council Meeting at 7:15. That means no wine with dinner - I'll content myself with breathing garlic on everyone.

The sun's up, Harry's up, and I need to throw on some Scotch Broth soup for lunch so I'm outta here!

    Have a super OP day!
  • A quick hello this morning!!!!

I'm getting the kids up and ready for school then I'm off to Kickboxing class! (After I finished the last class, I had this urge to go kick butt!) As long as I dont pull my hamstring doing it.

Clovey, I'm sure your car appreciated the walk!

Ruth, I hope you have a wonderful day! Good luck finding a pedometer. Let us know when you do! I'm interested in purchasing one but I think I'd like one w/ a stopwatch included. Is that possible?

Ellis, Jan, LittleChick, Bamie, everyone else I missed (sorry chicks!), have a fantastic, OP day!!!!

    xooxoxoxoxoxo

  • A quick pop in this mornin. I have lots to do today. My Mom is coming down for a visit and my office is a wreck. I have Home Interiors everywhere. So I have to redo the closet so I can get all this stuff in there so she will have somewhere to stay. I have a futon in my office for her when she comes to visit. I also have an air mattress I put on it to make sure she is nice and comfy. Let's all have an OP day!

Clovey I love it! I take my van out cause I don't have a dog either.

Ruth I hope that Hershey's hair grows back quickly and Lil Ms. Lucy get's hot if you know what I mean! tee-hee New windows sounds nice. I know I love the ones I have that flip in and out and all that for easy cleaning. Which I need to do! YUCK! Begged dh to put them in our old house now I'm glad we didn't! tee-hee I hate storm windows because they rattle and can be scary at night!

GavinsMom Hope you have a good time kickin butt! That looks so fun and maybe after I get this knee better I can get me a video and try it.

To all the chickie's yet to check in Good Morning and have a great day!
  • Just Rockin
to kids music. Nothing like listening to the ants go marching, do your ears hang low, sally the camel. Elmo's ABC Rap.... you get the picture. As we are dancing around the house. I figure if my little ones here like it then my little dancers will. Other than that things are pretty quite.

Clovey my love have you totally lost it taking your car around the park. I have heard that is great exercise. Burns lots of cals.

Ruthie- you really don't have much luck with those pedometers. Maybe you should just carry a pad and paper and count your own steps.

    Gavinsmom- have fun kicking butt.

Well chicks I have to go. The phone is a ringing and I need to get snacks for the wee ones the demand for me is great I shall return..........
  • good morning everyone!!!
just stopping in real quick this morning, clovey i'm with you although my dog loves taking me for walks i like the car much better, some day i will exercise!!! today is probabally not the day. i just hate the thoughts why??? heaven only knows, i just don't like the thoughts of sweating i guess. i don't have much problem staying op and i am loosing weight but i just can't get into the exercising thing. so after i loose all this dreadful weight and my skin is hanging to the floor i'll have no one to blame but myself right?? oh well at least i'll have something to ***** about.

ruth you have me so interested in a pedometer i'm thinking about going out to get one i want to stay away from the last 50 or so you purchased tho since you had problems with 'em who knows maybe tracking my every step will help to motivate me.

hope you all have a great op day, those of you going out there and getting real exercise you are my heroes!!! keep up the good work!!!
  • Good morning, girls!

I've finally got everyone out of the house. It's beautiful out... I may hang out some laundry. (I know, Ruth... that'll just bring on the rain...)

Clovey, I'm sorry you're stuck at losing. I can completely relate.

Ruth, I hope Hershey gets better soon. As for Lucy... how the heck can you "miss" a ***** in heat?!

Traci, you're exercising FAR too much. I think you should take a couple of weeks off. otherwise, how the heck am I ever going to make "queen"?

Bamie, I hope you have a very good visit with your Mom.

Little Chick, you have the patience of a saint... I don't know HOW you do it with all those kids. I'd have to be put in a straight jacket by the end of the day.

Jodi, you should get a pedometer! You'll love it... they're very addictive and motivating.

Going to get coffee and do a laundry sniff.
    Have a wonderful day, girls.
  • Teaching
I am here with a class full of fourth graders. I taught my exercise class, showered, ate something low carb (don't remember what) and here I am at work. Teacher work day tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! No kids!!!!!!!!!!!
  • A laundry SNIFF! Um......never mind.

Hey, a huge flock of geese just flew over so spring is on the way. Now, I'm hoping my new red car is not covered with big white polka dots!
  • I don't think you're thinking what I meant you to think. I'm going down to sniff the wash in the washing machine. It's been sitting for two days... I may have to run it through another cycle. (I wasn't going to sniff my DIRTY laundry! I'm not THAT demented!)
  • I once caught a lover of mine sniffing my dirty laundry.
  • I hope you dumped her immediately, Clovey.
  • Good morning ladies! Just thought I'd stop by and see what everyone was up to. As for me, the little man is still sick and now I think I've got it, too, yucko.
I think someone stole our sunshine Not counting this week, but the past couple of weeks had been wonderful. Now, it seems like we've fallen back to winter again.
Since starting the SBD, have you all ever missed a day or two of exercising? Am I the only one that feels horrible if I miss my days? I usually work out 6 days a week, seven if I'm in the mood. Since I've been sick, I just don't have the motivation to get up and go. I just don't want to fall off the wagon, that's all.
Lastly, I purchased the "Good Fats, Good Carbs Guide" for the SBD. Anyone else have it in their possession? What do you all think about it, if you have it?
Well, I must go tend to the little one now, so you all have a thuperific day and keep on South Beaching!
  • Good morning ladies

Ellis~~sweetie, thanks for the PM. It made my morning

Ruth~~Would that red car be the one with heated seats? There is a great Red Curry Paste recipe in the fAQ section (Thai Food). Could it be moved to the recipe section so others will see it? Thanks.

Clovey~~Your drive around the park reminded me of my stay across from Kensington Park. I was there a few days after Princess Di died. There were piles and piles of flowers in the park, from mourners. London is fabulous and I hope to return again, soon.

Bamiegurl~~Enjoy your visit with your mother. Treasure her, they are very special people.

Everybody have a great day. I'm taking the day off from any house duties. I'm going to the William-Sinoma store to exchange the stand mixer for a different color. I thought the chocolate brown wuld look nice, but it is so dark that it's almost black. I think the lavender one will add the punch of color to my plan of a Mediterranian/Tuscan kitchen. It reminds me of the lavender fields.
Then meeting DH for an early dinner out.
  • Hi again finally finshed making my discs for sat dance class. I will have happy little dancers on sat morning. Ellis there are days when I wish I could have a vacation where they have rubber wall and little pills that make the world go away. My DH keeps threating me that he is going to send me there but he is not very good friends with the washing machine nor does he make enough money to have a cute little maid come into the house. So right now he is just talking. I do enjoy working with kids I just wish I had more patience with my own. But I have decided to give up two of the commitees that I am on. One next week and I will be done with Home and School at the end of the year. I am going to start having some more me time. Maybe when I am not so busy my own kids will like me better. Like I said before this is the year of the clean sweep for me. I am hoping by summer I will have all things in order. ie house, life, health, etc and then hopefully the stress will be gone. Well now that I have babbled way more than I was going to I will be off again. all this laundry talk just makes me want to go throw in a load and sit on the machine.
