Default Beach Babble - Friday, March 12

There is a robin singing his/her heart out in the crabapple tree in the dog garden and the Forsythia I picked March I is starting to leaf out! The sap is running and syrup making is underway - "the boil", comme on dit ici! Spring is on its way although we expect snow today.

I snitched this from someone's signature and it seems appropriate;
Quote:
Rather than thinking about what you could've or should've done, think about what you will do next time. ~Shayla Roeher
Can you tell I had an Off P day yesterday? Yes, Chinese food reached out and grabbed me at noon. Then, when I asked Harry what he'd like for dinner, he said "Chinese stir fry"!!!!!

I felt a bit better about my pedometer problems yesterday when I bought another one at Canadian Tire. I decided not to leave the store until it was working so went to the service desk. It took four CT employees to get it working! Why the heck they make screws the size of a poppyseed is beyond me. Anyhow, I've measured out 5K and Hershey and I start to train this morning. I figure if I know how many steps there are in 5K (3 miles), I can keep track of walk distances anywhere we walk.

The physiotherapist comes this morning to check out Harry. I hope it soon gets warm and dry to get him outside. He needs to walk - maybe with a cane or a walker with wheels. Now I need to convince him of that!

My new windows will be installed in about four weeks! I made a decision when i got the last estimate yesterday - not the cute Kelvin guy! Now I have to think about wallpaper or paint and decide what to do about those cupboards. I'm leaning towards paint as pickling would be a heck of a lot of work. I'll have to take a pic and solicit opinions.

I'd better get my butt in gear. I have had an OP breakfast and will work really hard on control today!

Happy TGIF!

Talking Yipeee It Is Friday

Good morning my fine feathered chickies. It is snowing here. now as long as we don't get any rain this week it will make a great ski day next sunday. This will be our last trip. But on the other hand I will be glad to see spring. We have be going back to the play ground this week. Not staying to long but the wee ones are enjoying play there again.

Ruth glad that you got a pedometer. And I bet you can't wait to get you kitchen done.

Can little chick spell OP nope. I have not been eating all that well. Not real bad but I am not following the plan. I think I will sit down and plan out next weeks meals before I head to the store this week end. If I even get time. One dd has to bag on Sat and the other has a dance a thon on Sunday. Well I must go I will return I think I need a cup of tea.

Sflake- just read your post from yesterday. Here is my tips for a clean sweep.
1. get a big garbage bag
2. put everything in it.
3. sweep floor of all dust bunnies
4. There is a clean swept room.

That is not really what I am doing. Have you ever watched the show on TLC clean sweep that is what I am doing I have been sorting if is junk it goes and if I can really use it it stays. I have been such a pack rat for years and now I am the opposite.

Morning Girls

Ruth its frassing snowing here in CT as well!

Little Chick I have seen the show and love it....just what I need to tackle our attice full of junk.

Bamie sounds like a lovely way to spend the day!

Going out for dinner & drinks with pals from work tonight. This one poor guys wife is in the hospital with severe depression. She is getting electro shock therapy, I didn't even think they did that anymore. He said they did for extreme cases....Hope it works! So we are going out to try to cheer him up and take his mind off his troubles for a while. Although I'm not sure it will help. Hopefully with the exception of the drinks I will stay op!

Thanks for the cheering mompen!

Have a cozy day beauties

Damn! Damn! I just found out the frassing MICE are back in my kitchen cupboards! Do you think I can convince myself that there are black caraway seeds there? I see a morning of bleach and rubber gloves before me and the trap setting routine will "snap" back in place tonight. Grrrrrr!

Default Happy Friday

Happy Friday Morning Ladies! (Who's serving the coffee?)
Altho a bit of snow is predicted for us today..I am keeping my sights on the vernal equinox next Saturday..ahhhh...there's nothing like spring!
My packing is going toooo slowly..it's amazing what one accumulates in just a few years...I am hauling lots to Goodwill etc...I refuse to move things I no longer wnat or need...or don't fit! Out with the fat clothes, in with the thin!
I had a fitful night last evening...tossed and turned from 1am on....finally fell fast asleep around 4:30 am..and then slept thru the blasted alarm...where's my coffee???? To pass the time during the night, I decorated my new apartment in my head, so at least it was a productive night.
I have to tell you about this treat I made this week..not sure if I saw it on this site or the SBD web site:

Put 1 no sugar added fudgsicle in the micro for about 8 - 10 seconds.
Scrape it off the stick into a small bowl (I use a parfait glass so it looks even nicer), mix in 1 -2 tbls. low sugar or natural peanut butter, and 1 -2 tbls lite Cool Whip..whip it all together & prepare to meet your new addiction!
It's to die for...even the kids thinks it's wonderful..it's really decadent tasting ! (And I ADORE decadence...it's devine....)

Have a beautiful day & a joyous weekend!

Mice! Get cats. I have three cats and they definitely keep the mices away.

Howdie to everyone. I have done the shopping and all the chores this morning and I am now contemplating going off to the shops to see if I can get a pair of size 18 jeans to fit, that is 16 in american sizes. The problem is that I will be depressed if they dont fit, but my size 20s are very loose now. I wonder....

I am still a bit worried about Lou lou and her rabbits, I have to confess....

What a group this is Yesterday, between LC sitting on the washing machine, Ellis sniffing her laundry and Ruth not being able to notice "a ***** in heat" I'm begining to wonder about some of you. Thanks for the laughs

I had a great afternoon yesterday. That always seems to happen when I spend money. (Humm, I think there's a support group for that.) I returned the brown stand-mixer. I lugged the heavy box into the mall and halfway down the isle I realized that I was on the wrong floor.Talk about sore arms by the time I reached the store. I exchanged it for the lavender one and also bought an Asian Technique set of Calphalon One pans, which includes the flat bottomed wok w/lid and a 12" grill pan. I had to make 2 trips out to the car. On my way out the 2nd time, I stopped into a bookstore having a sale. Purchased some cookbooks for $3- $6 a piece (Asian cooking, mediterrean, stirfry, soups & breads, Curry and Chili. Each page has a wonderful pic of the dish with helpful tips.

Snflake~~I was pleased to see you here yesterday and to hear that your brother and the little guy are doing well. I'll say a prayer for your friend and his wife.

Ellis~~Sending you hugs and goodvibes :

Gotta get another cup of coffee and pay some bills before heading out to get my hair cut and colored. Have a great OP day.
~~Sil
