  • Clovey, you are just too funny!!!
  • Quote: Skin creams! Now there is a topic and a half. I have just given in and moved from Clarins 'touts peux' to Clarins 'Extra Firming'. On the advice of the woman there who kind of hesitated when I picked up the touts peux and got my purse and out and said.......'ummm Madam, is this for you?' Yes, it is for me I confirmed, smiling faintly. 'ummmmm Madam, you might be interested to try our range for the more mature skin, here. This is more a starter cream. For women in their twenties and maybe early thirties, but........'. Bloody cheek. But I bought the extra firming (and very nice it is too, priced I might add to suit the more mature woman's budget...........). She also sold me something called 'Beauty Flash Balm' which is supposed to give you 'that glow'. (what glow??? oh, THAT glow. OK. I need cream for that now do I???). And an exfoliator ('this will, umm, perk your skin up a bit Madam').

    Humpf

I think I would have had to smack that woman!
What is this touts peux stuff from Clarins. I have never seen it before. I love Clarins stuff. I am almost 27, but have been using eye cream for the last 5 yrs and Anew ultimate by Avon on the furrow line between my eyebrows for the last couple months. Any one else have that furrow line? I really don't know what the Anew is for but it works okay for that so I use it, but it seems to wear off within an hour and the furrow crevice goes back to being deep again. I want to prevent as many wrinkles as I can that's why I started using the eye cream. I know I need to use a moisturizer but I am scared to because my skin is already oily and I am acne prone. Any ideas?

Me!! Or I did. I use Estee Lauder's Perfectionist (Correcting Serum for Lines/Wrinkles). It comes in a 1 oz purple pump which lasts me a good 3 months as I only use it on my forehead and on my laugh lines which I promise you have significantly diminished for me. It is pricey but so worth it in my case. Now, on the subject of creams, does anyone have any suggestions for the neck area? That is one spot I cant quite tone up like I want and it seems to have gotten worse w/ the weight loss.
  • Gavinsmom, so you had a furrow line and now its gone or it stays away when you use the serum? That's cool so I guess you would recommend that I try it, huh? How much is it approximately?
  • Jennie -
I use the Avon skin firming lotion, and it tingles a little I love it.

As for face stuff I use Elemis (Clovey probably has heard of it) I used to mail order it from England all the time. I have oily skin that gets acne. My whole life I was using oil free, very astringent stuff. I had a fascial and she said that if you moisturize then your skin won't release so much oil.

Also- Kiehls has a great oatmeal face wash. And their intensive treatment is just the thing for dry feet.
  • Afternoon Chickies.....well we have quite a conversation going on here from kitchens to stretch marks to furrow lines.Hmmmmmmmmmmm have them all. We put in a new kitchen 3 years ago love it except the floor. Which is black and white checker board the only time it looks good it 30 seconds after I mop it. Then the kids, dog and hubby mess it up again. Oh well we learn from our mistakes. I do want a new oven and fridge. I think I may see one in my future next year. But youngest dd needs braces first. As for stretch marks got em and nothing I have tried so far works. The furrow line it just seems to deepen each day. I will have to reread and try one of those products. Don't you hate being called Madam clovey makes me relize even though my head tell me I am only 20 I am 36 and I guess I must look it as well

I really need to go to the store and bring in some legal food or for that matter any food I have nothing but a cheesecake in the fridge and some chocolate milk so I really should battle the rain and go to the store. But I would rather have the cheesecakeand crawl into bed.

My arm is the only thing left on my body that still hurts from skiing. But I do need to make myself to the treadmill this afternoon or early eveing. I have no children til tomorrow so I would much rather exercise with DH. Not very often that I don't have to wait til the kids go to bed.

Dance class today was great all my classes went smoothly and all the dances are done except for one. And we start practicing for the finalley(?) next week. It is going to be so cute, we are using children songs with stars in them and I am going to hang stars from the rafters and the kids are going to come through a trelles that looks like a big star. It is going to be darling.

Well I have rambled on long enough I must go and decided what type of exercise I will do. Or if I will eat cheesecakefor supper or go to the store.

    Have a great day.
  • Wow we have a broad range of topics today. No furrow line here. I am starting to notice some wrinkles around my eyes. Not really worried to much about it but that is part of the reason I was trying the Nevia Q-10. I have to moisturize everyday. I have really dry skin. I was trying one from Mary Kay but it was breakin me out. I tried some from Bath & Body whick I love there products but on my face it was like fire. My stretch marks are mainly on my belly which I would not show in public anyways so I am not worried about that to much it is more of I don't want to see them. haha

Ruth I think I must have a crick in my neck because I am still in alot of pain and can hardly turn my head. I thought it was just a little soreness from the weeds but since it is still here I'm thinkin sumin different.

Ok I've got to get crackin on the church bulletin since I went and got all the things I needed. Maybe dh will take me out to dinner since we are alone. ooolala tee-hee
  • Good afternoon
Now I need some laugh lines cream after reading all the earlier posts about face creams and lotions. I just posted two salad recipes that I thought would be great for Phase 1 and beyond. Thank goodness I found sugar free lemon jello at the store here.
Ladies, be sure to post your bio on the web site. Good idea RuthXXX! I wrote mine the other day, now I just need to get it put onsite. I am glad to see that there are other mature chicks out there too.
This is going to be a bad weekend. I have been on Phase 1 for a week and a half, for the second time, but just had to have a glass of wine with my meal today, and then that glass led to another. Well, tomorrow is another day. That is the problem with staying at the same weight for a while, there is not a whole lot of incentive to be really stringent all the time. Back to the grind right now. No waiting till tomorrow. Water for the rest of the day.
    Happy weekend to all!

It's around $45. The lines I had on my forehead are significantly less from using the serum and after I apply it, the lines that remain (not much and not very deep anymore) basically diminish for most of the day. (I hope that makes sense, lol.) The more/longer I use it then the actual lines seem to fade and look much less defined.
  • I hear vitamin E cream is good for stretch marks. Lizzie
  • : Good morning!
Suzanne gave us some new smilies! There are others but these are really cute.

Hey we got snow yesterday afternoon but I did see a robin so I still believe in spring! I need to zip around this morning to get ready for Church which will be followed by a meeting. Hersh goes for her haircut this afternoon so it's a busy day!

I'll pop in later to see what's cooking.
  • Good morning, Chicks

Had a pretty good day yesterday. Hubby and I have been walking together, usually at one of the nearby shopping malls. Yesterday, we chose the largest mall in Georgia and walked around the outside. I'm guessing we got in almost 3 miles. Weather was gorgeous and the fresh air really revved me up.

Still battling the evil temptations of sugar and refined flour, though. Does anyone have suggestions on a good tasting whole grain cracker?

Clovey, I read your post about the skincare stuff. I began using Clarins last fall, out of sheer desperation. I seem to have the most sensitive skin on the planet and something I was using had given me a rash all over my face. Thankfully, Clarins sensitive skin line works for me. I also use the Beauty Flash Balm and really like it, along with the Gentle Facial peeling mask. I've gotten several compliments on my skin lately. One of my patients that I see every few months even said I had a "glow" to my complexion the other day. Made me smile for the rest of the afternoon.

Ok, going to go read email. I'll pop back in occasionally to see who's around.

    M.

  • I just love Suzanne.
  • I'm going to have a with my sister and her partner. Back later.
  • Morning!!! I cant wait to tomorrow!!! Who am I kidding?
    Love the new smilies!!!!
I'm off to Church later this morning then on to my quest for shoes and accessories for the wedding. Does anyone know what necklace is more flattering for a strapless dress? Would a shorter, rounder necklace or a longer pendant style? I'm clueless! Ok, wish me luck. I need some height w/ this dress and I never wear heels, til now!
Ellis, I hope you have a nice visit and enjoy your coffee!
Everyone, have a wonderful, relaxing Sunday!!
