Default New to the South Beach

Ok So i've tried Atkins..hated it..weight watchers...too easy to cheat. So I ordered the South Beach diet book, and so far I am LOVING IT! It is so EASY!
Does anyone know if we can eat the low carb bread in phase I?

Default Welcome!

Hello there, Irishgirl

Yes, the Beach is truly a wonderful place. I picked it because it really seemed to be a place you could hang out for life, unlike some other places I could name!

On the bread, I'm no expert BUT, I'm going to venture a guess and say no. I think you have to wait until Phase 2 to add that type of carb, no matter if it is low carb or not. But I could be wrong.

The experts should be here shortly to give you a better answer. I just wanted to welcome you!

Good luck!!!

From what I understand, no bread at all in Phase 1. Sorry! You will feel so good and detoxed when Phase 1 is over, and you'll be glad you waited.

I can honestly say that when my 2 weeks was up (which was Monday) that I have no craving at all for bread, pasta or rice. I did give into a few cookies, but am totally over that now...not near as satisfying as I remembered...and today took the small child through Mcdonalds for lunch, ate a french fry and YUCK!! When did they get so nasty tasting? I used to love those things!

Oh, back to my original point ....give it the 2 weeks and you may find you really don't want it anymore

Good Luck!

Irishgirl welcome to the beach you will love it here, and luckyred is right it is a place you can hang out for life. The girls are right the first few days are hard and your body will rebel because you won't give it any sugar but after that it gets better. I had wicked headaches for a few days. But after the two weeks is up you won't believe how good you feel and chazmom I am with you things that I thought were so good tasting just don't do it for me anymore I actually find myself craving things like apples. I never thought it would be possible to crave the healthy things.
