Default Artificial Sweetener - which is best

Does anyone know which artificial sweetener is the best - carb wise. I use a lot of sweet-n-low in my coffee (2 cups per day - 7 sweet-n-lows per coffee) and am wondering if I should be concerned. I don't want to sabotage all my hard efforts by just using the wrong sweetener.

I think splenda is the best also...it tastes so much more like sugar and you dont have to use as much

Splenda or stevia. Stevia is not approved by the FDA but you can get it at natural food stores. They don't disapprove - just have not ranked it yet.

Unhappy What if you don't like ANY of them?

So here's my delimma...I'm nervous about how limited my diet's going to be, because I absolutely cannot stand any of the artificial sweeteners. I was so excited when Splenda came out, because everyone insisted it tasted like sugar, so I made a big dessert with it, and ugh, it tasted like it had been made with aspertame or nutra sweet. Then my mom found Stevia and insisted I would love it. Again, I was quite excited, and I used it in something (can't remember what), and it tasted just as chemical-ly as the rest. Mom thinks I'm faking it and has tried to trick me several times (telling me something's made w/ sugar), but it never worked. Boy, do I wish it had!

Is anyone else in this boat? If so, how do you handle it? A good number of the SBD-friendly recipes I'm finding rely heavily on Splenda.

TIA!

Don't know what to say...I am that way with salt substitutes (BLECH!!!) so I understand. You will probably have to skip the desserts and do other snacks. If you are craving sweets, sometimes just putting cinnamon in things will sweeten it up a bit.
