Dag nabbit! I just splashed chlorine bleach on my new blue t-shirt - yes, Ellis, the same one that I decorated with bacon grease this morning.

Me too. Why won't I wear an apron? Maybe because my mother always did, and I never liked the extra layer. How about you? What is your excuse Ruth, Den? I keep thinking I could save a lot of clothes that way. Some sort of mental block I guess! Or maybe I should say 'blockehead.' Lizzie

OK but....instead of aprons, how about big pasties? Not the kind with tassels though.

Problem with aprons: I'd dump the stuff BETWEEN the apron and my shirt!!!
Problem with Pasties: It'd be hot COFFEE i'd be spilling!!!!!

Actually, I have an apron from when i cooked school lunches in another life. (DON'T ASK!!!) but i am too lazy to put it on when i go into the kitchen!!! I should just leave it out somewhere so i REMEMBER it!!!

Cornish pasties?

I have lots of aprons, too. Never wear the damned things. We could make transparent ones... out of sheer fabric and wear them when we serve dinner. With nothing underneath, of course.

Oh you made me laugh.. I don't own an apron anymore.. but I remember when I did.. and besides if I put on a sheer one with nothing under well, I'm afraid it would not e a pretty sight..

Jenny, I don't imagine ANY of us would look good under a see-through apron.

I used to have an apron, but I had it removed with my tummy tuck!

I don't want a see through apron. I have a see through shower curtain and that's scary enough!

My problem is with ink. I have open pens all over my desk and lean on my desk and get ink all over my shirts, especially in the fall/winter when I am wearing long sleeves.

I think that we are just the most wonderful, humorous, lazy and pathetic bunch. And I love you all. Especially the humor. I'll never mention aprons again. We'll just deal with the spots and stains. It is such a good excuse to buy new clothes.: Lizzie

Oy, boy can I relate! My solution? I just don't cook! Let the DH ruin all HIS clothes!

I dug out a long sleeved shirt to wear to work last week (one day a week we can wear "regular" clothes and not our uniform) only to discover I had gold sparkle paint all over the underside of one of the sleeves. Of course I didn't see it until AFTER I was at work! I don't even remember using gold sparkle paint...I obviously haven't worn that shirt in a while.

I have been going through my closet and getting rid of everything that is too big. I had sizes ranging from 12s to 22s! Trying to make sure I have good reason to not gain any weight! I am also getting rid of all the stuff I have ruined over the years by splashing bleach, dripping paint, splattering grease, and general abuse. So I now own 2 pair of pants that fit. But that's okay with me...as long as they are at the small end of my size range!

See through apron, huh? With lace trim? My DH would never let me out of the kitchen if I wore that! Or more likely I would never make it TO the kitchen! I may just have to try that one of these days. I even have a pattern for an apron....hmm....a new project!
