Happy 1st of November, I am starting Phase 1 today to get back on track, too much sugar entered my life in October. Today is my appt with doc hopefully they will figure out what is wrong so I can get on with my routine. It is a rainy day here, we had maybe 25 Trick or Treaters last night.
Good morning!
Thanks for starting Nov, Pearlrose. I'm right there too, & will get back to Ph1 next week. Hope your appt is productive.
Beth, time restricting didn't work for me, but, I know others who it did. It may be worth a try, especially if your a nighttime snacker. Afternoon binging is my weekness. I've found planning a snack or even a minimeal helps. My other problem is I know what works for me, yet drift away from doing it. Stupid, right?
Have a good day, chicks ✌
Happy November to all!
We are making our way through a week of cold and rainy; at this point at least it is not snow. (trying to stay positive) Not much new here today: work, exercise, dinner and now sitting with my feet up.
Cenari, I was reading about time restricting and the article made it sounds like a real game changer. But like you said, the key is doing what you know will work. If I can keep the evening sweets under control I'm able to lose. Oh, and not letting DH talk me into buying fresh bread.
Pearlrose, hope you were able to get some definitive answers about the knee today. It's so frustrating not to know what is going on.
I made fajitas tonight (no tortilla but a few multigrain chips). I need to come up with a meal plan for the weekend. I want to eat from the freezer/pantry for a few weeks since both are quite full.
Have a good evening, chicks.
i got the start of some stomach bug and have been flat out since Tuesday. Feeling better today. I will check in from my computer tomorrow and give y’all the scoop.
Well Doctor appt went well they took more xrays and the Doc said it was either Arthritis in the Cartilage that they cannot see without MRI or Meniscus tear but initial treatment is the same, I could wait and do MRI to find out exactly or start treatment. I opted for treatment, cortisone shot in the knee and Physical Therapy for a few weeks and then if not better in a couple of weeks MRI will be done for next steps. The good news is the doc said my kneecaps look great, still have a nice gap between bones with gel. I like to think it is the Hyaluronic acid supplement I have been taking since I was 28, supposed to help with the cushioning between joints. Doc said I should start to feel better next week, so we shall see. We went to Hockey last night with DS and GF and that was fun, had great seats.
Beth I have been trying to incorporate limiting hours but it's hard I can't seem to get to the 16 hours they want. I like having breakfast, but it has helped me curb night time snacking when I try. Most I have managed is 12 to 14 hours.
Cenari I managed a complete Phase 1 day yesterday so going for day 2. I rather not wait when I make up my mind and doing on the weekend really helps with my unhealthy choices on the weekends sometimes. It is rainy here too for last couple of days, I told DH last night 10 degrees colder and this would have been quite the snow storm.
Debbie hope you are feeling better, something is definitely going around but hasn't hit our house yet.
Good morning, chicks.
Still trapped in the cold rain storm today but hoping for some sun tomorrow! Right now I'm staying positive by telling myself it is not snow! Work has been busy as we wrap up our first marking period; that means tests and then report cards. At least next weekend will be a long one with Monday off. Food is what it is: my version of P1.5 but at least I feel like I dodged most of the Halloween treats. I took the leftover candy to school...
Today will be indoor chores and a workout tape since the weather is so lousy.
Pearlrose, hope the shot and PT help. At least there is no surgery for now. Does DD have band activities today?
Debbie, hope you are feeling better!
Cenari, hope your P1 days are getting things under control. Have a good weekend.
Thanks for the thoughts on time restriction. I think I could do 12 hours except while I am working the spread between breakfast and dinner is about 12 hours already; it would be hard to go much less unless I start skipping breakfast. Maybe I will wait until after Christmas and re-think it.
Very productive day yesterday. Laundry and cleaning plus some paperwork for school. I also made a killer dinner with shrimp and scallops. Today I need to get some groceries and then hope to get outside and do a few things. I've got a couple of little bushes that need to be wrapped up; it is supposed to be sunny but chilly.
Of course woke up early lol but I fell asleep super early last night. Yesterday we went to the City for the grand reopening of the Veterans museum so that was fun. Then came home and went back and did grocery shopping. Today not sure what we are doing it is rainy outside today. I did get the house cleaned up as well. Scale moved down this morning, even though I transitioned yesterday to Phase 1.5 but it is keeping me away from the junk food still left in the house. I think I will stay at this phase for the rest of the year.
Beth I have cut down what I eat for breakfast but still want something, I would have to eliminate breakfast to do the restrictive time
Feeling a bit sad this morning, found out yesterday one of other moderators passed away. Beth not sure if Cottage was still here when you joined. Her daughter posted on FB that she passed away November 1st. Her and Ruthie were good friends,so have to believe they are together again.
I'm so sorry to read about your former moderator. My sympathies to all touched by her.
I'm back to Ph1 today with you, Pearlrose. No weigh in until Fri for me.
Glad you're not facing surgery for that knee & hope the treatments work. My friend, who just visited, is with a HCnetwork that just brought in regenerative stem cell therapy for bone & joint repair that sounds very interesting. Her DH had it done for his elbow with good results. My DH is getting the cortisone shots for his shoulder & only moderate relief.
Beth, are you trying the time restriction? I don't think it's worth skipping breakfast for.
Lexxiss, hope you're on the mend & doing ok. We miss you.
My long, perfect weather, peak color, weekend was a flurry of look, see, do & eating. But, choices weren't the worst & portions were controlled. Thankfully, my appetite was back in check before the fun started. I was wore out after last night's airport drop off.
Today will be a slow day with only plans to vote & a grocery store run. We've pushed our next road trip to Sat. It will be here before I know it.
I heard about Linda via one of our former beachers . Hit me kind of hard. I’ve met A lot of amazing people during my years here.
Sorry I have been missing in action. It’s been quite busy as we continue with the project. In addition, yesterday was my sisters birthday and I had offered to help her get her hardwood floors finished. When we pulled up carpet In August 2017 it revealed a beautiful maple floor which had never had a finish on it. These amazing guys came and this morning her floor is finished. They did it in one day believe it or not. All of her furniture is on her front porch and strewn throughout the house. My house is a total disaster with bathtubs and sinks etc. everywhere. We did manage to have a nice dinner on the little corner of the dining room table to celebrate her birthday.
This morning we started early. Had to replenish quarters at the laundromat then I needed to cut out some cardboard patterns for my bathtub and vanity so that the plumber will have a idea where the drains need to go. Went over and checked out my sisters floor now I am enjoying a cup of coffee before the plumber arrives.
I’m hoping to be in better touch once this plumbing job is finished. Then we will be able to start putting the bathroom and the house back together. We are hoping to be finished by the end of next week. Yay!
Good evening, chicks.
Debbie, sounds like you have been crazy busy! Glad the projects are getting done.
Cenari, I am not doing time restriction. For a few days it looked like an easy fix but....we know how realistic that is! Glad you had a nice trip.
Pearlrose, hope you had a good day and the cortisone shot is making a difference.
Just another busy day at work with a meeting afterwards. I did manage to do some exercise though; and I am soooooo glad I had a plan for dinner. Nothing says "take out" like not having anything thawed out at 5:00 pm. Of course our polling place was having a bake sale.....DH and I will share a cookie later.
Sorry haven't check in in a couple of days. Yesterday went into the office and got my flu shot and I also have a head cold going on...yuck. The cortisone shot helped with the sharp pop but my knee is still hurting and gets worse if I walk on it for more than a few minutes.. PT starts on Friday so maybe that will be the magic bullet it has been for other issues. Today is wfh and I need to schedule DD2 for an eye exam to make sure she is good to go. I have terrible vision and DH has perfect vision so docs said our kids had 50/50 chance of bad eyes. DS has glasses, DD1 does not. It normally shows up around 15 or 16 so time to get her checked out. Food was not P 1.5 yesterday so back to Phase 1 for me today.
Cenari that does sound interesting, I have been using the pain cocktail you mentioned but I hate to continue using for long periods
Beth, I am not sure about Cottage, I did not want to question her daughter. Just sad
Debbie sounds like the mess before the glory lol I am sure you are ready for it to be done.
Good evening, chicks.
Not much to report here today. Went to work; was busy all day, had kids after school (robotics club) but managed a short workout when I got home. The sun broke through the clouds for a bit this afternoon but I think there is snow in the weekend forecast. Guess it is that time of year. The scale moved down this morning so I'm just under September's goal; my October weight looked like a recent stock market chart. I will have to stay focused this weekend; that is when I always splurge and with a 3 day weekend I've got an extra day to manage.
Pearlrose, sorry to hear about your knee. It is so frustrating to have an injury like that; the pain wears you down and it's hard to do normal activities, much less anything extra. Hope the PT helps
Debbie, home stretch on the project!!
Cenari, hope you had a good day.
